Hello - Hope you've both had a good day. It was cold and rainy here today.
I spent the day visiting with family, so I didn't get to do any crafting. I'm hoping to get the three blocks I need to do, done this weekend. Then I need to start putting together some of the quilt tops to the point that I'm ready for the last block in December.
Take care and have a great weekend!

CJ- a day spent with family sounds like a wonderful way to spend a cold and rainy ! Hope that it was a pleasant and happy day for you. You will have plenty of time to work on the 3 blocks you want to get done this weekend! Sounds like a great plan, gearing up for getting the blocks put together into a quilt top so that you are ready for the last block. Thanks for the heads up on the Quilting life blog and the star blocks (well they were mostly star blocks that were in the 2023 quilt). I started downloading them and actually hit a snag in doing so. I did start out by downloading them into my book app….and that was problematic, I did get several months saved that way. The other months I think I just screen shot the directions. Tomorrow I will go through all the months (being that they are in 2 different places) and see if I actually saved the entire year.
Got a bit of organization done on my ditzy daisies and made a few more. Think I have 7 more to go….and I did get some ironing done of those blocks I made. Think the next step is to cut a few more 2 1/2 inch squares and work on the fabric choices for the remaining ditzy daisies.
Ruth, how was your day??

Good morning!!!
I usually check in in the am, just to see if Ruth has checked in. Hope she is doing ok, and just did not get a chance to join us yesterday.
I had practice at church last night, which thankfully was short. Really hoping I can get some more work done on the baby quilt today (hope my DGD is not a teenager before I finish it). Other than that, not sure what today will bring.
WIll stop in later on to see who checks in. Ginny

Hello - Hope everyone is having a good day. It's cooler here again, but sunny today. Ginny - Hope you can get more of the ditzies done and also get the baby quilt done. I know you can do it Ruth - Hope you are feeling better and doing some crochet. I did some more big stitch quilting on my Flying Dutchman quilt this morning. I've finished 3 of the 9 blocks. It took me about 2 hours just to quilt one block because there are a lot of turns and corners. But I'm happy with how it's coming along. Take care and have a good day!

Sorry, I don't know what happened yesterday that I didn't post here. It was a good day actually but I guess I just got caught up in crocheting and didn't pay attention.
CJ, It's great when we have to do a lot of work on a project and it turns out that we like it.I'm glad you were able to spend a day with family and I hope it was a good day not because of something bad happening.
Ginny, I'm glad you had a day yesterday when you didn't work or babysit and had time to do some things you liked. I hope finishing the baby quilt goes well.
I did get my current blanket done. Now I just have to pick two colors for the next one. I finished one hat this week and hope to get two more done this weekend because my goal is 2 per week and I didn't do any last week so have to make up for that.

Good morning!! Ruth, glad you are doing ok….and it sure does sound like you are getting some crocheting time in. Hope you are able to meet your goal of two hats per week.
CJ-the effort of 2 hours to get one block done sounds like its paying off….so glad to hear that you are pleased with the results of your big stitch quilting…that makes all the effort you are putting in all the more gratifying.
DD and her 2 little ones stoped over earlier than anticipated yesterday….which was a fun visit. Just threw my schedule off a bit- I am NOt complaining. I did call my DBILand DSIL in Florida for Veterans Day, good to visit with them on the phone, which was a long conversation. (Glad long distance calls are no longer billed by the minute any more!!!). I did not get any quilting time in but did discuss with DD what fabric I would like to use for the border of DGD’s quilt. So I will order that….and then get back to work on it today.

Good afternoon friends. It's a pleasant day here, not too warm but It's nice
Ginny, I know you're disappointed that your dd and grandbabies came over yesterday and used your quilting time. Instead you got great baby time with your new dgd and your small dgs.The quilt will get done and she can use it for years.
CJ, I know you're busy checking out quilting sites and making more blocks.
I still haven't decided on colors for my next blanket so in a minute I'm going to go into my craft room and look and what I have enough of.
Have a great day

Hello Ruth - Sounds like you are doing better, I'm glad to hear that. Hope you make progress on all your projects this coming week. Ginny - I'm glad you know what fabric to get for your DGD's quilt border and that you enjoyed a visit with them yesterday. It's a pretty sunny day here, in the low 50s. I haven't been outside all weekend since there was no mail delivery. I finished the last three monthly quilt blocks this morning, so I'm caught up with all of those. Now I have to get thinking and deciding on quilt layouts for about 5 quilts with the blocks from my quilt alongs. I have ideas for several of them, so I hope I can start making sashing and borders soon. I don't want to be left with all of this to have to finish in December. Take care and have a good evening

CJ - do not blame you for wanting to work on the quilt layouts now, this way, you can have all those quotes put together and done in time for the new year. Boy, that’s kind of scary to think that we start a new year and only a few weeks.
Ruth, were you ever able to figure out what your colors you’ll be using for your next Afghan?
I did a little bit of cleaning up in my sewing room, and got a Few more squares for ditzy daisies done. I have to cut 48 more 2 1/2 inch blocks of the plain white fabric and then I can get those sewn.
