Right now, for me I think the answer is no. My father was a slight man, but he was very measured in his eating habits. Back then there was no eating after dinner or really any snacking. I took after him and was very thin when I was young. Looking back, I didn't eat if I was full, and I got full quickly, and as I said there wasn't any extra eating going on. In my late 20's I married into a family of eaters and picked up their habits. Then I got a sit-down job and stopped exercising and my weight gain started. Any advantages I had when I was younger were gone. For me it was habits.

This is an interesting question, and I don't really know the answer. I think that I have a familial tendency toward gaining weight through my father's family. But I didn't grow up with a weight problem, and like you, Judy, I can attribute my weight issues to bad habits that I picked up in college, and the yo yo dieting and losing and gaining cycles for many years following that initial weight gain.
