ksbruns Kathy, I'm sorry your little precious was rejected, in Cambridge no less! LOL! You could have pulled the "affirmative action" card and demanded to be reconsidered. Maybe you've been wait listed like a lot of high school seniors. But, I'm glad you and J accepted it and have moved on! Ha, ha, hasn't the world changed so much in our life times that worrying about your pet getting into day care is even an issue. While going to new stores can be fun, I know you'll be happy when you get in the groove with your day-to-day living in your new spot. Best of luck in 2017!

@doordie Poor kitty! Hope she heals quickly! ksbruns Besides being an inspiration, you are such a fun read! Poor Princess! A doggie daycare rejection! Am struggling mentally with this Maintenance thing. It was much more rewarding to see the scale inching down each month! Now it's basically stayed the same since reaching Lifetime in October... which means I guess that I'm "maintaining " LOL. But I seriously need to lose another 5 lbs so I don't have to "fret" each month with being on the cusp. Was up 2 lbs at weigh in today. (that's over 2 weeks since I missed last week) Cookies and chocolate for sure... Pat, it's an adjustment. I was at least lucky that since we moved so much, my losing was a very private affair, but still being happy for *the same* is different after years of up and down. But, now my satisfaction comes from maintaining, getting my vouchers; it's just a different mindset. And it's a huge satisfaction to fit into everything in my closet.

Really, where did that First World Problem thread go, LOL? Honestly, I have always just used daycare as a luxury for me (and at the prices now close to Boston, boy, will it be) but since my life at home is so quiet, it's good for her to go ½ day now and then to socialize. In her *15 minutes* she was being chased round the room by a dog trying to sniff her butt, so it will help keep her young and frisky. She would have never made it at that other place. There were reports on Yelp about getting calls when your pet *misbehaved*; I'm too old! She'll have fun with all the riffraff.

ksbruns I am chuckling at the doggie daycare situation. My sweet departed Corey went to daycare one or two days a week for years. He was an Airedale with a mind of his own. While he was at daycare I spent my days as an assistant principal where I had students who were "written up" come to me all day. Imagine my dismay when I went to pick Corey up and he had been "written up" for getting a bit bossy with a larger dog. The shoe was on the other foot. Yes,first world problems.

ksbruns Kathy--being from Massachusetts and knowing some of those 'Boston Brahmins' and 'Cambridge Elite', I'm convinced your little Princess is far better off (as are you!) with the less "noblesse oblige" !! I cannot imagine how a doggy is made to feel less elite but I'm sure those folks could do it!

Fortunately, Leia has a strong self image and she seemed to take it in stride. I could tell from my phone conversation with the owner that he was going to be tiresome, so I'm sure no matter how amazing the facility might be, it'll be nice to not deal with him, it was just a little more convenient.

It was funny because on Yelp the reviews were either 5 from all the people that attend or 1 from the rejects or people that were kicked out....*they only want boring, elderly dogs*, etc. Since Leia is 12, I'm sure we should take it as a compliment. I'm just relieved that I have an outlet, although I'm pretty committed to staying home more in 2017.

Kathy ksbruns, so sorry that your angel was so rudely addressed at that first daycare that she felt the need to put that doodle in its place!
I spent too much time on the phone with American Express this afternoon, canceling one of my cards. I've added their Blue Cash Everyday product and wanted to cancel the Gold card that was up for renewal BEFORE the fee hit. My goodness, Member Services is persistent. But I have prevailed. And Toots will be pleased that it was get one/remove one from our wallets.
He called from the gig site, reporting that he arrived safely despite a "bump" from some large creature as he was stopped to make the left turn into the campus. No damage, T-G. Maybe deer, maybe bear. Ah, the joys of the itinerant musician...

pbnj not sure if you remember this or not but at the time I said that was one of the hardest parts, not getting the constant "encouragement", there is no message that pops up and says "YAY YOU MAINTAINED!!! " people aren't making comments like "wow you look fabulous, great job maintaining!" etc., this is where it gets real and you just have to come up with ways to keep it fresh. I think +2 after the hellacious few weeks you have had is pretty freaking fabulous so.... GREAT JOB, YOU DID AMAZING! and I truly mean it.

ksbruns, Kathy I am cracking up reading about your daycare experience. I was totally going to do a post about you no longer being allowed to post here since your pup didn't make the cut, but, so many people take me seriously when I am joking I didn't want to take a chance, HA! I am glad you found another place for Leia, she was way too good for that first place anyway

I am glad you found another place for Leia, she was way too good for that first place anyway We just have to make sure that Leia doesn't start having confidence problems, Deb...she's pretty used to being everyone's favorite. I swear, her sitter and daycare in Salem were crushed that she was leaving; Jeremy and I were pretty sure no one was noticing we were. I definitely take you seriously 😜
