Fred decided not to golf today as going to be very windy so would not be much fun. Itās raining out at the moment so Rosie didnāt take much time in pottying.
Last night Rosie was so funny. Ever since weāve had her there has been a bag of salt on the enclosed porch for melting ice on the steps. Well after almost 7 weeks of her being here she suddenly discovered it. We heard all this growling and barking and when we looked she was attacking the bag of salt! She would get kind of close and then back off and then charge at it and it was pretty shocking but funny to hear her growling and barking. After a while I guess she figured it was not going to kill us so she ignored it.
When the plumber came he said his whole family has always owned shih tzus and he thinks they are absolutely adorable. She followed him everywhere trying to figure out why he was here but was friendly towards him but not overly friendly as he could not pet her. He gave us bad news in that our water line has to be replaced as itās very corroded so he could only give a temporary fix to bring up water pressure. I was not happy after he left as he did something that activated the water temperature gage so our water wonāt get above lukewarm. Not good for a shower. When we had our bathroom remodeled that guy also activated it but Fred had him come back to make it normal. He said itās a child protective thing to keep children from turning on the faucet and scalding themselves. Thatās great but we donāt have any young children and I think before activating it we should have been asked.
Not sure what weāll do today as the rain is supposed to end around 8. I wish Fred would contact a landscaper like he said he would to get the backyard rolled as thereās just too many dips that make it very uneven for Rosie and me. Not sure what caused it as never had that problem before so thatās why we need a landscaper to let us know if we have a critter in the ground. He thinks it might be the cicadas since they live underground and are due to come out soon. But until he has someone check it is just a guessing game and I want the problem fixed so we can enjoy the yard without worrying about it.

Good morning. Up and packing the car this morning. Mass, then Lucy is making a breakfast casserole and bring it over for breakfast with a few frieds who are going to help me move my hanging clothes today. I have a basket packed with all the necessities needed for the bathrooms to be in operation today. Just got coffee from McDonalds. Going to get some disposable cups as we could at least get cold water from the refrigerator. Also going to pack a chair and a fewblouses, bottomsd and dresses to mark where I want things in the closet. Five people setting it up could be a nightmere. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the help. Sunny and warm here today. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Sandy you are right about Shih tzus, they are a wonderful friendly breed and very connected to their owners. I have fostered quuite a few and Carol has had one for many years. Her Bella is like my step-child. She is right at home in my house and love to visit here.

Good morning š. It is a little chilly š„¶ this morning. The high is in the 50s so we're having I guess the last of the little cold bursts before we truly get into the hot days of summer. I took this picture of the gazebo this morning with the duckš¦ sitting there just before Dash scared them all away. I knew I was likely to not get the shot at all LOL. The bald eagle š¦
is up in his tree this morning as well. It's a beautiful sight but it's very hard to get a really clear picture of him because he's a pretty far distance away. Was anyone watching the Apple River murder trial? This was a truly sad case where some teenagers on a rafting river got into a confrontation with an older man. He was intruding into their space and they asked him to leave but they started calling him names and it just escalated to a point where he apparently pushed a girl and then some teenage boys pushed him down into the water. By that point he had actually pulled out a knife already, even before he had gotten pushed down. He wound up stabbing five people. A 17 year old honor student died and two others were in critical condition and barely survived. One kid literally was holding his intestines in his hand! There were many many mixed feelings about this trial with people split about 50/50 as to whether the older man acted in self-defense or whether this was murder. He was found guilty of reckless homicide and other charges related to the teenagers who were injured. He will probably now spend the rest of his life in prison. The 50 some odd year old man has multiple degrees and is a mechanical engineer. A very educated man. What a waste considering that the boy who died was an honor student on his way to college as well. Sort of reminds me of a Shakespearean tragedy really no one really wins in the end. Well I started off the answer cheerful this morning and then I brought up this topic! I suppose we should just all enjoy life as much as we can and try to be as peaceful as we can. But that older man he just walked away none of this would have happened. If those kids hadn't gotten so aggressive with him it probably wouldn't have happened. Wordle 1,028 2/6 ā¬ā¬š©ā¬ā¬ š©š©š©š©š©

Happy, happy birthday, Geri! Here is to many more in your beautiful new home.
Shragae, lovely picture. I had not heard a thing about the Apple River murder trial. Yikes. Will have to look it up.
Good luck with the MRI, Jane!
Sandy, I have had people do that with my hot water too. Hello! Ask us!
I had a great morning. My co-chair for the Outreach Committee and I delivered books to 2 elementary schools for second graders today. OMG, what a cute age it is. Each student gets to choose a book of his/her own. They all wrote us thank you notes. I have to share two, the way they were written:
dear temple ladies, thank you for Books I am so Happy to Pick a Book. is this a Dream? I *gasped* when my teacher said I could keep it forever reading makes me Happy.
dear temple ladies, thank you for buying us books. thank you for spending your money on us. you are doing a Great JOB. you should Be awoded.
The looks on the faces were precious.
Last night was not a good one, though. Our power went out sometime after midnight. They tried to turn it on a few times and we heard an alarm. Finally we got light. And it went off again. This happened about 3 times. There is NO light at all around here when that happens. Thank goodness for those little flashlights I have all over the house. DD told me they had a problem with NYC too, and that they were testing the power grill. I hope I can get to bed early tonight.
Have a great rest of your day, friends.
We are leaving in a half hour to take one of my friends for dinner for her birthday.

Geri I wish you the happiest of birthdays.
Shagrae you brought up that topic because it was on your mind. We all do that if youāve noticed. š
Good luck Jane.
I went with Don to get his ultrasound of the gallbladder then to breakfast/brunch at the Cracker Barrel. I didnāt care for the food and could have made better myself but Don was hungry from nothing by mouth before. We went on to Costco for a few things which always seem to be more than we intended. Then stopped at Menards for more mulch. Iām glad to sit down with my feet up.
I havenāt talked to db Marvin yet today so Iāll call now.

Good afternoon all.
Happy Birthday, Geri!!!!
The day started off chilly and rainy but now the sun is shining and it's 60 degrees. We ended up with almost 6 inches of rain over the past few days so I hope we don't get any more for awhile.
Shragae, I was watching the trial off and on but I hadn't watched it at all today so I didn't know that the jury had reached a verdict. You're so right about it being a Shakespearean tragedy. Very sad for everyone all around. The Delphi murder trial is going to be starting on May 13th and I'm very interested in watching that one if they allow cameras in the courtroom. Indiana didn't allow cameras in the courtroom until last year but the decision is left up to each judge. I'm hoping it will be televised.
Gail, 2nd graders are such a cute age. Years ago, when I taught Sunday School, I had the 2nd grade class and they were so sweet and funny!
Sharon, Jerry and I like to go to Cracker Barrel but we haven't been there in quite awhile. I sure hope the food hasn't gone downhill at all the locations. I love the Hash Brown Casserole and usually get it even if I don't order a breakfast.

Happiest of Birthdays Geri. Know you are a busy lady but that some time to celebrate your Birthday with friends.
May good luck be in Store for you today Jane with your MRI. Hope you can rest easy for a few days after this is over.
Super picture Shragae and even the duck stayed put long enough, looks like they are enjoying their time in the gazebo.
Did Don get any results from his Galbladder ultrasound, Sharon.
Well I have donated my 81st unit of blood and can rest easy for 56 days before they start bugging me again. They usually start contacting me 3 days before I am eligible. I do not schedule ahead, because who knows how things will be two months ahead of time. While in Ottumwa I did purchase a new Black and Decker battery weed eater.
6 inches of rain Vicky, that is in no way shape or form a fair thing in my book when we basically get nothing and to be in the 80ās the next 2 to 3 days. I know you or anyone else has control of that. Also we do not need 80* temperatures in April. Likely storms Tuesday.
I better bake my cake for tomorrow, guess all we are having is KFC and my cake as not one of them are bringing anything else. A visit is the best thing anyway.
Thanks for delivering the books to the 2nd graders, knowing how much they appreciate them is even better. I took some books to Ottumwa today for a book sale. Proceeds benefit Friends of Ottumwa Public Library and 2 other things.

Things did not go as planned. It took an hour to get to my cousinās so we had a few minutes before my 2:15 appointment. My phone rang and my appointment was canceled because the MRI machine was not working. So I have to make the trip again next week. Then later we went to red lobster and it was out of business. Didnāt even have a sign anymore. That was close to my parentās house so we drove by and was astonished to see two huge houses going up between their house and the one that was next door. I have always been sorry I sold that house and Ruth next door owned those two lots. I donāt know if Ruth is still alive. But probably not and her children probably sold those lots. So Motherās house is just dwarfed by them.i am glad I am not living in it.
Geri. I hope it was a wonderful birthday

Today was a sort of busy weird day. I taught two yoga classes and a private class today. Came home to do laundry, run the dishwasher, make hard boiled eggs and prepare next weeks private class. Diane is 83 and wants to work on her balance and strengthen her knees. She is going to try 6 private sessions with me. So far she has done 2.
I have been working on my knitting project. The lacy bottom is the hardest part and that is how the vest begins. I am finally at a point where I am not making mistakes that Joan has to fix and I can recognize when something isn't right and correct it right away. I forgot how relaxing knitting is. I did it when my kids were young and then picked it up again after my 2nd divorce. This sleeveless shell is the most difficult pattern I have ever tried.
Jane, I was praying for you all day (but that prayer did not include not having your MRI). What a bummer! Glad you were able to go to Red Lobster. I haven't been there in ages!
Karen E, That is so awesome that you donate blood.
