Ginny, thanks for getting us started on another week.
I just got back from PT and I don't have to go back. I just have to remember to do the exercises at home. Last evening I started knitting a pr. of slipper boots for myself. I wuld like to have several pr. They are very comfortable and I can throw them in the washer.
It was a beautiful morning when I went out the temp. was still in the low 70s and there was a nice breeze. Of course it wont stay like this so we need to enjoy it while we can.
I will check back later.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Thanks all for the comments about the yarn. It's all synthentic, since I'm allergic to wool!!! I love the feel of wool too, so it's a bummer that I can't use it or wear it. Ruth - I really admire you working on gloves and mittens. I love the look of those and really want to try to make a pair someday. Meg - Hope your PT went well and that you can get your exercises in at home. I bet you are loving the weather there today, after that terrible heat last week. Ginny - I hope you are getting to work on your embroidery. I was looking at a website yesterday where they have a lot of vintage embroidery patterns. I had trouble seeing the whole site though (the page kept freezing), but it looked interesting. Phyl - Hope you are getting some crafting in. It was cooler here today so I opened the windows in the house. I'm going to have to shut them soon now that the afternoon sun is coming in. I was in the mood to work on my quilting so I laid out the blocks from the Solstice quilt on my design wall and figured out how I wanted them to be in rows of 5 blocks. I've decided I'm not going to put any sashing between them, I'm just going to sew the 5 blocks together into 5 rows. I may put a sashing (medium/dark brown) fabric between the rows so it looks like they are sitting on a shelf, but I may just join the rows together and have one big quilt top. I will put some kind of border around it though. Hopefully I'll feel like doing some sewing later this week. I'm taking my car (with the broken AC) to the mechanic tomorrow to see if they can fix it and what the cost will be. If it's really a lot of money, then I'm going to head on down to the dealership and look at a new car. I think I've settled on a Hyundai Sonata, since they have some decent prices and really good deals right now. I figure if I don't like the car then I can trade it in a few years after I buy it and get something else. Take care everyone!

Hello to all. Meg, it's good to hear that you won't have to go back to PT and can do the exercises at home. I'm glad it was cool enough that you could enjoy being out. Slipper booties are a good thing to have plenty of. I keep saying that when I get time I'm going to make a bunch for myself.I did start a knitted pair but only got as far as the first row. CJ, I'm glad to hear that it cooled down there some too. The quilt will be beautiful I'm sure whichever way you do it. Phyl, Getting things like your basement rooms organized like that always is a good feeling. Now can you come over and do mine . It will be nice for you to be able to be home and working on the things that you like to do. Quilt guild sounds like fun too. I've been working on organizing my living room and the little alcove at the end of it. I have two love seats there and my sewing maching which sits on a small desk it kind of a divider. The love seats seem to have accumulated a lot of mostly my craft items and the desk top around the sewing machine and the sewing machine itself has also so I'm slowly working on getting things put where they belong. Have to take frequent breaks but I do love breaks. I hope you all have a great day.Ginny I hope you're getting in some enjoyable activities. It looks on the weather channel that your area has cooled down some also. See you all later. Oh I was looking up patterns for some key chains and fobs. YOu wouldn't believe some of these "adult" patterns!!

Oh and CJ, I looked up online about old yarn and one person suggested making a swatch with it and washing several times to see how it holds up but personally, and I could be wrong, but I think it should be fine since it's synthetic. Cotton and wool maybe wouldn't be after a time but I don't know. Since you have no wool anyway that's moot about the wool. I don't know about bamboo or silk yarns.

Good morning! This is just going to be short as my Internet connection is always on the shaky side these days. Meg I'm glad that you're done with your physical therapy and hope that it's helped you. Ruth I'll have to check out key Fobs when I get a better Internet connection they sound very interesting. Phil I'm glad you got some cleaning out done. CJ nice to hear you got back into some quilting. Catch up with everyone later. Yes I'm getting some embroidery. Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - I hope you enjoy the guild meeting and the speaker. Ruth - Thanks for the information on the yarn. I hope you finished your organizing. Ginny - I'm glad to hear you are getting some embroidery done. Meg - Hope you're doing well today. I haven't done any crafting today, since I had the appointment with my car this morning. I've decided to get the AC fixed instead of buying a new car right now. My mechanic said the car I have has one of the better engines and bodies than any of the newer cars that came out in the last 6 or 7 years and he'd recommend keeping it. Since I do like the car and didn't want to get rid of it, I'll get the AC fixed and see what happens. I can always buy a new car in the future, when I'm ready. I have to go back to the mechanic tomorrow since they needed to get the parts and I didn't want to sit there for hours waiting for the parts to get there. They'll have them when I get there tomorrow morning. Now that I'm retired, getting up early to be somewhere at 8:00 A.M. is not fun, especially 2 days in a row

CJ, unless it's a life threatening emergency I never get up that early. I'm glad to hear that you got your car issue resolvedThat's why I still own my Ford Contour even though it's 17 years old. I love the car and until recently I haven't had to do much to it. Now I just want to keep it long enough to get my money's worth from the expensive fix I had to do last year at this time. Except for getting the oil changed on a regular basis I'd say my car has cost me very little per year. Even the oil changes at my dealer don't cost much and they use Ford's best. I even got a battery when the old one was still ok but wanted to be prepared for winter. Well it was from Walmart and was NOT a good battery so no more buying them there. They're good about the garantee but who wants to have to keep going back to get a new one even if it is free and then there's the inconvenience of your vehicle not starting when you want to go somewhere
I don't think my organizing will ever be completed because once I get thru the whole house it will be time to start over. Old family photos take up practically all the space in my walk in closet. Both the shelves and the floor are filled with bins of them.I could spend years just organizing those.
Well I hope everyone is having a good day and enjoying themselves.See you later

Well I'm not sure if it's my Internet or if it really is that no one has posted today. Still nice and cool here but we've had some intermittent rain. Right now I have to say it's beautifully sunny. Still very cool. In getting my walks in I have yet to embroider today, but will do that later! Ginny

CJ, glad the decision to fix the car was easy. It makes easier when it's a good car! I am happy for you!
Ruth have you ever considered scanning all those family pics, or at least those you can identify? That makes it easier to share with others.
Hi to Meg and Phyl. Ginny

Ginny, I've scanned a whole bunch of them then my printer/scanner quit working. Also the computer that the printer was connected to. Luckily dh thought it was dying so he told me to put the pics I wanted onto a flash drive which I did. I still have gazillions that aren't scanned though. I need to get a new printer one of these days or else try to encourage dh to try the printer on his newer desktop which he doesn't seen to want to do
I started a doll sling today but the woman that designed the pattern must have intended it for a very small doll. She didn't say. So I'm having to revise the pattern. I want it to fit cabbage patch size dolls so luckily I have some here so that I can measure it with them every so often as I go along.Once the slings are done I'm going to send them and the cabbage patch dolls.
I'm glad it's cooled off there Ginny, I know you do like cooler weather. It's rained here intermittently also. Here in a place where we usually get very little rain.Still fire danger is high and there was already a wildfire just a few miles from here on this highway. That's another bad thing about all the tourists is that they don't have the good sense not to toss their cigarette butts out the window. I'm sure that's what started the fire yesterday. Luckily it wasn't windy yesterday so it was put out fast.
Have a good evening everyone.

Hi Ruth, cj, Ginny & Phil,
Today I went with DS & Devin to do our big grocery shopping. So I have been sleepy all afternoon. I did dome reading and the picked up my knitting. I don't know what happened to it but I took it off the needles and started all over again. I will work on it again this evening though I think I will have trouble keeping my eyes open,
Ginny. I am having the same computer problems and have to stop posting before I am finished, My dryer is also giving me problems and I may have to buy a new one. Seems like every thing happened at once
cj, I am glad you have made a decision about your car. It is good when you have a reliable mechanic who can give you good advice.
Ruth, I love to sleep late and now that Devin is out of school I can sleep a little longer most mornings. Right now I am very sleepy so I should sleep well tonight.
Phyl. good for ypu getting your basement rooms cleaned. I wish I had some of your energy
Good night.

I sure wish I had a reliable and trustworthy mechanic.
Meg, I'm glad that you're getting to sleep in now that summer is here. I often feel like napping but I rarely do. Sorry that you had to take your slippers apart and start over. Happens to all of us I guess.
Happy dreams everyone

Good morning!
Ruth , I also need to get a new scanner, which I intend to use for my mom's pictures. Good thing you are talented enough to modify patterns. The doll sling is such a cute idea, and I am sure u will make it work out fine.
Meg , hurray for sleeping late! One nice thing about summer vacation! Hope you do not need a new dryer. It seems like yesterday when you replaced your refrigerator (I think).
Still cool. Great weather today. Good night tonight for watching stars. Have a great day! Hi to Phyl and CJ
