This is a conservative thread to allow those with conservative views to express themselves. We welcome Republicans, Tea Party folks, and those who believe in the Constitution as written, not as interpreted by liberal judges. If you have liberal views we invite you to participate in a civil and respectful conversation. We would respectfully request that if you cannot post in a respectful and civil manner to refrain from doing so until you can. Good discussions are great - insulting arguments are not. We welcome discussions about our weight loss journey

Not much to say except that I would not like to live my life with so much venom and hate as the liberals have. It's like hating Trump consumes their lives. I turned on The View for about 2 minutes, and what hateful and nasty women there, Joy whatever and Whoopie. Impeach Trump, nasty things about his family, hurting his son by Kathy whatever. I though liberals were all peace and flowers and they have turned into hate and hurting. The Clintons are their idols, a lecherous man who seduced an intern in the Oval office and Hillary, a harridan who put up with a dirty old man to get herself elected. I wonder if the stained blue dress is in the Clinton library??? Trump said something nasty, Slick Willy did lots of nasties. And the women were all paid off to keep quiet. Haven't really researched the new health care bill, but maybe some of the abusers of Medicaid will have to go to work, same with SSI disability. May let some of the really ill get insurance instead of some woman who has 4 kids by 3 different fathers and on Medicaid for a bad back.

I was really pleased with the Supreme Court rulings today. President Trump's partial travel ban was reinstated and a church was allowed to rubberize a playground without incurring the dreaded separation of church and state baloney. Trump is slowly but surely draining the swamp and the swamp rats are furiously holding on for deal life.

I am starting to feel optimistic. I hope republicans and swing dems will be patient and not sit home because they don't get everything.
This country wasn't destroyed quickly, and it can't be repaired quickly.

I too am cautiously optimistic the Republicans will eventually get their act together. I really don't understand why they can't just repeal Obamacare in full as they promised to do and then include back in the replacement bill the portions of Obamacare that are actually good. Why does it have to be complicated?
Finally got my pneumonia shot today - actually the 2nd in the set. Kind of interesting - she used a round bandage she applied before the shot with a fine mesh where she gave the shot. Most shots I've gotten they put the bandage on after the shot. Also went to the eye doctor. My prescription won't change so I'm not out the expense of new glasses.

I don't get the complication factor either. They talked about just giving like a year for folks to transition to other insurance. I get they don't want to pull the coverage out from under poor folks, but most of them are on expanded medicaid.
I read somewhere that in the original bo care, the reason they had to pass it before they knew what was in it was that they didn't pass all the mandates with the bill. The bill gave the head of health services a lot of power and as soon as they passed it, she added on all the mandates. The most damaging ones being the pre existing conditions had to be covered, and all the stuff that the insurance had to carry by law. That is what crashed the markets and caused the huge increase.
The problem is they are saying the public wants to keep the pre exist mandate. Reality is if insurance has to cover pre existing without a waiting period, the premiums will never go down. Too many people will put off buying insurance until they need it. Then when they are well again they will drop it.
Anyway they are saying (the republicans) that since it was passed in steps originally then it has to be repealed in steps. I think that is hogwash, but who knows.

I meant to add: If the original BO bill gave the power to the sec of health and human services, and she was the one to put the mandate on the bill, then why can't our new sec of HHs have the same authority to take necessary mandates off the bill.
It still seems to come down to the reps don't have the nads to do what the dems do. And that is both infuriating and embarrassing to me.

I watch Sean Hannity every night with the never-ending theme of pointing out how unfair the mainstream media are against President Trump. While I totally agree with this, isn't there anything else he can talk about? For example the good things Trump is doing for the country? Honestly, I'm getting tired of the constant tirade. Anybody else? Hannity gets on one subject and beats it into the ground.

I don't watch fox news as much as I used to. Hannity does repeat what he says a lot. but he does talk about the good things president Trump has accomplishments I have seen him put a list on the screen. Perhaps you should write to him and tell him how you feel. I was really upset with him one time and I wrote to him. Do you like The Five which comes on between Tucker and Hannity. I didn't always agree with Bill O Reilly but I do miss him.
Any way I don't watch TV very much anymore.
BTW Gary how is your little great grand daughter coming along?

I watch The Five and The Greg Gutfeld show on Sat night. I used to watch Redeye for comedy, but it is gone.
I am taping Hannity and he does need to inject more positive news in. I don't mean totally, but a little balance.
I also miss O'Reilly. I think he will be back before long in some forum. I hope it is on a regular dish network. I just don't want to do a streaming thing. I like Mark Levine on the radio, but I am just not going to pay even more for his show. We already pay enough for that stuff.
I also saw that Greta is no longer at MSNBC. I hope she comes back to a forum I can watch. I just refuse to watch the garbage networks.

Susan Rice has agreed to "testify" before the House Intelligence committee. She's got a lot to answer for, but like all the rest of the corrupt Obama administration I am sure she will get away with lying with no consequences.

I could live with liberals if they would do the same. My number 1 problem with liberals is that they can't just live and let live. They have to impose their "values" or lack of them on everybody else. They have to strip the landscape of everything remotely religious, forcing removal of crosses, plaques with the 10 commandments, demanding no public prayers, etc. They don't have to look at Christian displays any more than we have to look at Satanic displays. I can't force my family and friends to believe and act the way I do; why should liberals try to force everyone else to act and speak like they do? My family is still my family. My friends are still my friends even if they don't act and believe the way I do. The only person I ever unfriended on fb was my brother-in-law who took it upon himself to put me in to a very left leaning, Trump-hating group plus posting the most vulgar references to conservative women he could find and refusing to back off when I asked him to.

Gary, I am sorry that Greta lost her most recent job. She is a democrat but she was always fair and balanced. I wouldn't mind seeing her back at Fox. I hope that Bill O'Reilly finds a home on TV. I do miss some of these people and Fox doesn't seem quite the same without them
Susie, I do watch the "5" sometimes but I don't really care for them at 6 p.m. That was a shame that someone destroyed the 10 Commandments hours after it was put up. I know a lot of Democrats would not agree with a hate group doing that. Along the California there was a Cross that someone kept pulling down. I don't know if it is there now or not.
I did listen to TV for a short time this morning and they were talking about energy and it was all very positive. All sorts of energy systems are going to be developed which will mean work for many American, Actually I think they have started working on a lot of this stuff but the news media only want to promote their negative garbage. A few weeks ago I had to buy a new refrigerator and then this week I bought a new dryer. Both were made in America by Maytag. When choosing the dryer I had it narrowed down to either the Maytag or a Samsung. But I choose the American product.
Have a great Saturday.

Gary, hearing Susan Rice spill the beans should be interesting, that is if she does.

Oh I preferred The Five when they were on at five. But, here they are on at nine not six. I usually record them, and watch the next day.
I always record Greg Gutfeld on Saturday nights. That is a funny show.
