* This is a daily thread for those who want to live by the philosophy that you CAN be ON PLAN EVERY DAY, whether you are doing SFT or counting points for ALL foods! * You aren't doing this to brag; you are doing it for YOU! Because YOU are WORTH IT and because WW has made this totally DOABLE! * WW gives you a lot of freedom and a LOT of options that make it quite possible to live this lifestyle EVERY DAY. * You know that this philosophy keeps you on the straight and narrow. If you give yourself an excuse to go off plan today, there will ALWAYS be another excuse tomorrow. * SO, there are NO EXCUSES!!! * This is your LIFESTYLE and it is a lifestyle you enjoy and you live it daily. * Hopefully your participation here will not only inspire YOU but will inspire OTHERS too! YES, you CAN be ON PROGRAM EVERY DAY.

Tired Blood?
Ever said tired blood is why you felt so tired? Maybe you simply need more sleep. Or maybe you really are anemic.
Tired blood actually is a good way to deļ¬ne anemia. With anemia, blood cells canāt carry as much oxygen to blood cells to make energy because the red blood cells are smaller or there are fewer of them.Less oxygen to cells can lead to fatigue, mild depression, poor concentration, and higher risk for infection.
Anemia has several causes:some nutritional, some not.Nutritional anemias may result from: ā¢ Not enough iron, especially among children, teenage girls, and women of childbearing age. Iron in blood helps carry oxygen. (Menstrual loss and pregnancy increase iron need.) ā¢ Not enough folate, but since most grain products are folic acid fortiļ¬ed,thatās less of a problem today. ā¢ Not enough vitamin B12 can happen if you donāt have enough āinstrinsic factorā(a stomach chemical) for vitamin B12 absorption. Strict vegetarians (no animal sources of food) donāt get enough vitamin B12 either. If you think you have anemia: ā¢ Call for a physical examāfor a proper diagnosis and to rule out other health problems. ā¢ Consume foods with iron. Take a supplement if needed. ā¢ Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and grain productsāall sources of folate.

I enjoyed reading your thoughts and memories related to eggnog - I remember that for some time it was one breakfast my daughter would eat so made it regularly throughout the year. Have not had it in years! As for anemia - don't think I have it KAREN: I remember making a HUGE pot of mulled cider (non alcoholic) when in high school and having one of the cuter older guys in school remember and comment on it when he wrote in my yearbook. CINDY: My guess is that there is an eggnog recipe that Hungry Girl or WW has created that is OP. If I were to have it again I think I would use nf milk, an egg, a bit of sugar and heat a bit then consider it breakfast with a slice of OP toast. BOB: Wow! What do schools do when kids are stranded at school? Did they have heat or blankets or? What a mess! LOUISE: Brrrr...wonder if the kids outside in the schoolyard needed to let off some steam. I remember playing in the snow in elementary school when we lived in Des Moines. I remember stomping a circle in the snow then playing a chase game - fox and goose or something like that.

We're supposed to get snow tonight into tomorrow and then turning to rain. Then a crazy warm up Sunday? And today is bitter. Single digit temps with the wind chill. Brutal. Bob, since I work in a school, I could not imagine being trapped with students well into the night! That's crazy to even consider! We've had schools closed based on forecasts of heavy, heavy snow before a single flake falls.
I am quite tired lately, in the evening. I assume it's because I'm up early and out to work. Labs are good. I don't think I'm anemic though it wouldn't hurt to consider a supplement.

I eat red meat once a week and lots of leafy greens, fruits and veggies. Love swiss chard and spinach. I donate blood about 4-5 times/year. They require you to have above the minimum iron count so I know I'm doing ok.

My daughter is a school teacher and will get the final word. She is at home with her chemotherapy stuff and not teaching right now but has friends who are. I think most of the kids did somehow get home by somewhere around 9 PM at night. They did "raid" the cafeteria kitchen and provide some food for the kids. They have heat but no blankets. School is closed again today (Fri.)
I do the best I can with my blood. I am above minimum levels and hanging in there. I have eaten some liver on occasion too.

I tried to use the quote function but it just keeps eating my message.
Okay I will try one more time. I quoted klf to say we had exactly the same forecast. I just don't understand where the rainy mix would be coming from since the temperature high forecast is 27.
As for the iron I had a previous PCP tell me to get a senior vitamin without iron because post-menopausal women really didn't need it.
