I am so angry! Jeff called Debbie yesterday to say he wanted her to know that no way is he going to allow her to buy him out on the house based on tax value and will insist it be fair market value so she said fine sell it! He then said everything in the house is marital property so she needs to pay that as well but she has jewelry that was hers before marriage and a jewelry stand that was given her when her grandmother died so that is not marital property and she also told him Maija's bedroom furniture was a gift to Maija on her birthday and he said nope marital property! So she said know what Jeff sell it all! I think that response shocked him and he also didn't like being told she could come to the house whenever she wants as it's still her home too. She thinks he'll fight for the dogs because he knows how much she loves them and will use that as leverage against her. She said she'll just let the dogs go rather than let him use it against her even though she knows that will be a death sentence for SoCo as he won't spend the money for his medication. He told her on the phone she asked for this by filing for the divorce and he will make sure she pays big time for doing that. She said about him calling Maija and her a business and to let lawyers handle it which is what she's doing. Then he said well I've moved on with my life so if Maija wants to communicate she knows how to as I won't as what daughter wants her father to go to jail? Debbie then said you sound more like Maija's peer not her father and at that point he hung up. So Debbie is going to set up a meeting with her lawyer as that phone call is a game changer and she needs to know her options. I am beside myself with worry and so much anger towards this individual. I know I can't change anything but he is a real scumbag!
We went to dinner with Fred's sisters and had a very nice time and when we got home Debbie got home shortly after and said the dogs always eat at 4:30 and when she got there at 6 she took them for a walk as usual and SoCo threw up. Came to find out they hadn't been fed and he had not been given his medication. Plus she said the house and property is really starting to show signs of neglect so unless Jeff gets off his butt and starts doing things he won't even get the tax value out of the house! But she said she thinks that phone call was God's way of saying let the house go and start fresh. Maija will have fun shopping for new bedroom furniture but then she said I know Jeff is having an estate sales person come in to sell what's in the house so she'll tell that person to let her know once he prices the items and then she will go in and buy what she wants to keep at half price as half of what is paid is hers anyway. But depending on what Maija wants to do she might not take anything as why bring old memories into a new chapter in their lives. She has a friend in real estate so will have her start looking for places for her to check out and will leave the selling of the house up to Jeff as he's living there not her so that will be his responsibility as she knows he would say no to any realtor she would chose. She said in a way she's having the last laugh as she knows he let everything go to pot thinking she was going to buy him out but will now have to actually do some work to bring it up to the value he thinks it has.

I cleaned and filled my humming bird feeder. Just ignore the Saturday and make it Monday in your mind. Turn around and it will be Saturday!

Hi!
I am ready to get back on track. It would be so easy to say, "I can't cook. the fridge doesn't work" but I am resolved that we will not go out to eat today! Lately, I think I have used too many excuses for not cooking the meals I should. Sigh... Fast food is so ....fast ! And easy.
Today we'll get the groceries picked up and the repairman is coming to fix the fridge. See, I am thinking positively. Nothing else on our agenda for today. So, a quiet day.
Sandy, we never stop worrying about our children, do we? Now, we see if the court uses common sense, I guess. Bless you all in this time. For what it is worth, my opinion is that Debbie was very smart in just letting it go. He's using all they own to try to get her back, and she's too smart for that to work.
Prayers for Doris and family continue as they relocate in Lincoln. I know they are exhausted.

Where is Jenny? Has anyone heard if the fires got too near her?
I can report a good loss but am going out of town tomorrow for a few days so hoping not to put it back on.
Well, low 90's again so it looks like the cool front backed out or stalled.
Gym today and stop by friend's. Then I will start loading the truck.

Sandy, boy your DDs divorce sure sounds a lot like my DD#2 divorce. Everything had to be settled by a judge and the lawyers as he was another scum bag, and I have heard all that "stuff" from him as well. He called and harassed my DD until the lawyers told him to stop calling her. Of course when he was drinking it kept up. Good luck and make sure your DD lets the lawyer know everything he says to her. Hang in there, there will be an end in sight.
Peggysue, it is fine when ever you start the thread, The time zones work it out no matter when you post. I live in the north east so know to check later on for most of everyone who don't live in this time zone. Think we all check early or late. you have done a great job and it is a busy month for everyone, winding down summer with family things before school starts. Lots of weddings, BBQ picnics, etc for end of summer. so we do get busy so maybe not as many pages as later when in the year when we are more house bound. But we keep on keeping on with each other.

sorry I am late this am. these chigger bites started itching about 2 am.got up a little after 3.laid down about 8 and woke up at 9.30.
yesterday was fun at margie's 50th bday. tom wrote a nice note in her card.saying he was happy to be home and spend the day with her special day.also how much he loves her.
we did finish up the 3 houses on the parade of homes tour yesterday.
diane I need to get back on tracking also.haven't done it in months. I had a very small lost friday. after this weekend think I
am up about 2 or a litlte more.

sandy jeff wants control.He has lost control and know it. I am praying hard debbie will win most of the divorce. who bought mija bedroom set. that person still has the recipet it might help.

Hi Peggysue and Don Days participants,
It's a sunny 58, with wind ENE 1 mph, high 81, had great sleeping weather overnight.
Didn't do a darn thing yesterday, just a Safeway run and iron, then enjoyed a wonderful dinner with DDIL's mom and sibs. Today the guy is to come to help finish assembling my bookcase, depending on how long it will take may or may not clean the bathrooms and/or the floors. Last night my son asked me if I could pick up Medium R from the gym, I asked what time and he said "oh your working", then the other grandma jumped in and said she would. I could of picked him up, just needed to know when, but she's going to do that. I'm a bit upset, but figured that it would be best not to say anything; so I kept my mouth shut, but will let my son know that I can pick them up anytime after 3 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Plus I was lucky to have them for a few hours on Saturday and she didn't have them last week. But next time. . .
Sandy, sorry things aren't going well for Debbie, but there are sooo many different rules governing divorce, like not all states are community property states, some states (I think) allow a spouse to have a portion of the retirement/401K for the period of time they were married, etc. But a good divorce lawyer will know all of this. Luckily when I got my divorce the house was in my name so that was not an issue, nor the contents of the house, but as I probably said earlier the divorce laws have evolved with the times. It sounds like Jeff is very bitter and has issues he needs to deal with, hopefully he will get the help he needs sometime during his life. Prayers for you, Doris, and their families during this difficult and stressful time in your life journey. Continue to believe and remember you don't have all the answers and your not required to have all of the answers. Remember, it's all in His hands and he does have a plan. Take care.

Good morning Dog Days!!!
It is another beautiful day here in the neighborhood, it is 76° Out now and going up to 84° later today.
So it won't be to hot today!!! We got a really good rain real early this morning so all the dust is washed off
All the trees and things. That helps my allergies when it rains when everything is so dry outside!!!
Jack told me last night that he had two sleepovers this weekend for birthday parties. But he was ready to come back home!! He said he didn't get much sleep at the parties.
Rob's stomach was bothering him last evening so he went to bed early and I stayed up with Jack so he could play longer. I wasn't sleepy anyway because I took a very long nap yesterday afternoon. After Jack went to bed I sat up in the master bedroom and watched tv till I got sleepy. I'm glad I started the thread last night
so I got to sleep in this morning late!!! Ted and Sammy always gets up real early. I didn't get to see Jack off to school this morning and I do feel bad about that. He will be here with us again tonight with his Dad.
Sandy, I will say prayers for your family to help you all get through this!!! It's all in the Good Lords hands now!!!
Lucy, I just love the humming bird picture with the pretty feeder!!!
Well, I would like to go to Home Depot today and look around and maybe to Hobby Lobby!! I really don't need to spend any money today!!! Maybe just look for something to do today!!!
