This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning ROs. Am planning a quiet day today before back to work Monday, especially since I've been away for a week, the return to work will not be that easy. I have an 8 AM conference call which I'll do from home tomorrow, and will have to leave work early in the afternoon because I have a dentist appointment at 3:30. I'll work locally at least so won't have a long drive, can ease my way back into work that way.
Today I will go to the gym with DN and then meet a DF for lunch at Bareburger, and maybe a visit to Trader Joe's next door (for decaf coffee). I scanned the menu and I can find stuff to eat there but I know I won't get enough vegetables. I had a great coaching call yesterday with a BLE coach who is super helpful and I feel back on track. Am also reading a really interesting book called Why We Overeat and How to Stop by Elizabeth Babcock. Lots of brain science, which I love, and super interesting so far. Continuing to plug away at this. I'll get there someday...
I got a new iPhone8 yesterday and love it. It was an expensive week though - new tires and a new phone. Glad I'm still working, hahaha. I was even able to sync the BlueTooth in my car with my phone by watching a YouTube video on how to do it. I had looked at the car's manual and while the words were in English, it made absolutely no sense. It was actually pretty easy to do so I'm feeling proud of myself.
Lora, do you have a coaching call again today?
RobinMD and Susie, I agree about the whole freezing air conditioning thing. I always wear a sweater in the supermarket and carry one with me at all times for other freezing places. Although the mall yesterday was surprisingly warm. I even walked out of a conference recently because I couldn't get warm enough to actually sit and listen to the speakers.
Have a great day all. I'll bbl.

Hi Everyone, I am planning to do a club event today. I think even tho I am not all that interested in walking around the main museum since I've been there a zillion times I can just relax in the cafe but I know I will be bored if I stay home. Plus I want to go for dinner at the Indian restaurant. The first museum which is a part of the museum I havent been there for quite some time so there should be things I havent seen or if I have I probably might not remember but I think they change the exhibits more there than at the main museum. Tommorow for part of the day I am going to be with my sister for her colonoscopy. Andi, hope your transition back to work tommmorow wont be too painful. Other than that nothing too exciting. I am looking forward to doing lunch with my friends on Thursday. Have a great day!

Good Morning...so far nothing planned for today, except a lot of reading (hopefully) ...maybe a yoga class this afternoon. DD and family are due back from the beach - DH wants to buys lots of ice cream and toppings to lure all of the DGC over for sundaes! Did not sleep well, so a nap may be in my future- ha.
Andi - DH and I both have an iphone 8 - we have since before we moved here and there is still so much I don't know - DGDs teach me things all the time - lol. Yeah for feeling back on track...I felt like I did really well eating yesterday, although I did not feel great when I went to bed last night, BUT the scale showed me down a lb this morning so I am back on track too. I think "continuing to plug away" as you said is the key.
Janet - I know you love Indian restaurants. There is a new one close to me...I have to see what I can find that is GF; I have stayed away just because of that issue. I am glad you mentioned the changing exhibits at museums...makes me realize that I need to go to the VA Museum of History and Culture to see the new exhibit there.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good afternoon everyone.
Just a quick check in here, I've been busy so far today. I made a quick run to the local little grocery in my town for just a few things. I'd forgotten that this week I'll need to be making up a batch of dog food, so had to pick up some turkey and liver for that. I've done a couple of loads of laundry, cooked lunch and washed up all the dishes and I'm about to make some HB eggs for meal prep for the week.
This evening is my live coaching session, it's the end of week 6. So only two more weeks to go. I think for the most part I'm going to continue with the dietary changes I've made for the session. I'm feeling really good about having cut out the sweeteners, and I'm not really missing them at all. I'm also not missing the nuts or alcohol, but those had become a very rare thing for me anyway. I'll probably take a scale reading at the end - just out of curiosity, but I also plan to make the weighing a rare event. If I'm eating right, there should be no need for me to be checking in with the scale daily, or even weekly. How my clothes fit will be a more realistic measure of how I'm doing, I think. Also, I feel like it's nuts for me allow 8 ounces one way or another make me jubilant or concerned. In the grand scheme, it really doesn't matter.
I do want to try to commit to increased and regular activity. With the weather, walking has not been fun, but I should be able to get it done early in the day if I just get myself motivated to do so. Also, starting tomorrow I'm planning to do some youtube workouts that target particular muscle groups using resistance bands - to work on some strength work - at least until we get the car problem resolve and I can get back to the gym. I have found a couple of real gyms in Guntersville, and will investigate those and the cost involved once I'm back on 4 wheels.
Anyway, just things that I've been mulling over this weekend. Time to get those eggs in the IP - I guess they're not going to cook themselves. Haha.
Waving to everyone!

Good evening everyone.
I'm not feeling great today. I am taking some meds that are really messing with my digestive system on top of not eating correctly it really has my tummy out of whack today. I took a nap earlier and I was struggling to wake up. I just had a cup of coffee to try to feel more awake. DH has gone to the grocery store to do our pick up.
DH and I have had a pretty relaxing weekend, which is good. It has been nice.
I am waving to everyone. Sorry for no personals. I will get back to personals tomorrow.

I am at the second musuem. Just chilling as I have been here many times before. On the way walking to the first musuem I tripped on the sidewalk. Maybe there was some uneven payment as my shoelaces were tied. I injured my left knee and it was bleeding. When we got to the musuem and I asked for a bandaid they wouldnt give me one. They said because it happened there and they didnt want the staff to deal with it. The staff wouldnt have had to do the first aid as I would have gone to the bathroom and cleaned it and applied it myself. I was going to walk two blocks to the CVS to buy a box of bandaids but it turned out that a new lady who came to our event had 2 bandaids. Even tho they were regular sized it was enough to cover after I washed it off. When I get home I will take off and wash area again and apply some neosporin on it. I just hope it isnt too big an area. I have to take my sister tommorow for her colonoscopy and wait with her. It doesnt hurt me at least. If you ever go to Philly and fall make sure you do it right on the musuem property or they wont do anything. My friend said so you walk all around and leave drips of blood since they wont give you a bandaid. I will see what it looks like tommorow morning tho. If it looks too bad I may have to call my primary office but hopefully it wont. I think it looks worse than it is. Almost time to go for Indian. Have to go meet the others. Take care.

Oh, no, Janet, taking a fall is always just awful! I can't believe the museum couldn't give you a bandaid!!! All the liability stuff has gotten crazy - people aren't even humane anymore because they're so afraid of lawsuits. I imagine your knee will feel pretty bruised tomorrow but hopefully the first aid you did will take care of the scrape itself. I love Indian too, haven't been in awhile because I always overeat there, just can't seem to control my portions.
Jana, hope the tummy issues resolve without your having to stop the meds. Glad you can stay close to home today and get naps when you need them.
Lora, I was going to ask you why you're not going to the gym because your summer weather has to make outdoor exercise really challenging. I forgot about the car issue. Any progress on that? I can't believe you've completed 6 weeks of the coaching. Sounds like the changes are really working for you. Yay!!!
Susie, I also don't know what half the functions are on my iPhone and right now I can't get it to sync with my Fitbit. I tried to follow some instructions online but they didn't work so I'll call in for support. They're open from 4-9 Pacific time it says on their website, not sure if that includes Sunday. Good job on seeing that scale move down and plugging away with me. I would definitely find ice cream sundaes a diet buster but it sure sounds like fun.
I had a good day today, tried out the "Impossible Burger" at a restaurant called Bare Burger today. People rave about it, including a review this morning on CBS This Morning, but I thought it was kind of "meh." They also had a "Beyond Burger" but I didn't try that one. Next time. I really love beef burgers but would be happy to find something less damaging to the environment, or at least as a non-meat option once in awhile. I also got to the gym and took a nap. I'm pretty sore from yesterday's workout so just did a light treadmill workout today. Hope I'm feeling ok for my session tomorrow morning at 6...
Going to make dinner now. Mostly involves reheating. I scored some organic blueberries today at Trader Joe's and got decaf there as well. Avocados were more expensive there than at Aldi's!
Have a good evening all.

Just popping in to say hello. As usually, I skimmed to see what was going on with everyone.
Andi, I can see how you feel knowing that letting yourself go would add that much weight, I know I have my excuses, between my fractured kneecap and my mother last summer, but it is impossible to take it off now. I know how, it is just always something else that keeps me from it. On the impossible burgers, and the beyond burger. I know some of the fast food places are serving the Impossible burger too. I had a Beyond Burger when I was visiting my DGF in Washington, DC. Her DD is a vegetarian, and they will only eat fish, so we had those one night. Personally I don't see the point of having them if you are not a vegetarian. It was OK, but nothing I would choose to have.
Lora, I agree the not weighing every day is a good idea. My weight can fluctuate from the silliest things, especially if I eat something that has a little more sodium on a particular day.
Janet, hope your knee is OK. Good thing someone had band aids for you.
Susie, always good to get a lot of reading time in. I had a bunch of things to do today, but still did get reading time in. My "homework" reading, which was 12 pages in the book for my book club that I really do not like. It's Sisters In Law, about Sandra Day O'Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Just so tedious and dry.
Jana, hope you feel better tomorrow when you have to go back to work, I assume.
We saw the movie Yesterday, yesterday. We really enjoyed it, we are real Beatles fans though, so of course the music throughout was great. Very cute premise. Now that we have theaters around with the reserved reclining seats, my DH will go. He never used to want to go out to the movies.

Hello everyone, Sounds like a fairly laid back weekend for most of us. I didn't think it was supposed to rain all day today, but storms rolled past, one after the other. I went out and pulled weeds in between showers, and worked on the pool a little. I really thought the sun was supposed to come out this afternoon, and was hoping to do at least a little push mowing. Oh well, I just did some laundry and got a little dusting and cleaning done inside, instead. Janet, that really stinks that you tripped and couldn't even get a band aid. I hope it doesn't linger on and bother you. Ice will keep swelling and bruising down. Susie, that's great that you are back in the swing of things! I would have a hard time resisting ice cream though! Andi, it is fun to get a new phone, but it takes me forever to get used to it, and find all the stuff that it can do, HA! I would like to try one of those burgers..I love beef burgers too, but like you, I'm not against an alternative once in a while. Lora, I have been trying to get more organized physical activity in every day. It sure is hard sometimes, but I do well when I belong to a gym, as long as it is convenient to go on my way home from work. I prefer going after work, before going home. I've also been doing a little more hiking, too, when the weather isn't crazy hot. Well, I will be heading to bed soon. I hope we all have a great week. Sorry for missing anyone, but I will keep trying to catch up with everyone! I find myself hurrying, so I don't lose my post! Ha. Be back tomorrow,
RobinMD

I was reading my post and the way I said it I wanted to correct it. I said that the museum wouldnt give me a bandaid because it happened there but what I meant to say is it was because it didnt happen at the museum or on its property so they didnt want the staff involved. I guess because they would have had to justify giving me a bandaid when it didnt happen there. Anyway, I am glad that I didnt have to walk that far to the store to get a bandaid because I think it would have been a long walk to get there. I washed it off and put some neosporin on it and found a nonstick sterile pad to cover it. I think I did pretty good on the Indian. I had a somosa and rice but didnt go crazy on the rice like I usually do. We walked a lot too so hopefully that will help balance it out as well. I order the tandoori chicken. At the buffet place I like because it doesnt come out in a lot of oil at the bottom of the tray with the onions and green peppers but it is still really good here despite that. Have a good rest tonight! Robin Md, luckily it doesnt to appear to be swollen or black and blue so that is good I believe.
