This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Still under the covers. I'll be up soon to start tackling tasks as methodically as break-brain will allow.
What a fun evening with friends! Lots of good conversation and easy food, and a very tasty gen-u-wine Prosecco from Italy via Aldi. We started early and finished around 9 so they didn't have to drive home late. My tree lights and coffee maker are calling.

Good morning, sweet T. *clink*
The DVD player is broken, but we can easily replace that. The dish remote quit responding in spite of new batteries and lights flashing. Can you imagine?! They will have to actually get up and push buttons on the unit to change the channel, volume, etc.! *gasp* I'm sure the company will replace said remote; I doubt it will happen today.
One son in the house, rather overwhelmed by life (aren't we all?) so I put our money discussion aside for now. GF says he's just needed to come home. <3
Haircut went well, Frieda, as usual. It's very short and should be easy to style, ala Sharon Stone. The time with DN eased so much of my anxiety yesterday.
I'm glad your conversation went well, Frieda. No doubt a residential change will ease a lot of contentiousness. Thinking of you daily, my friend.

'Morning, coffee buddy. Got my cuppa. Hugs to you as you nurture the boy inside the man.
I am so sorry about B1G's Very Bad Day yesterday. May all be better soon. The holiday build up turns even the laid back ones into a hot mess. No wonder his circuitry is on overload.

Hello, Frieda, Nancy and T., Just back from my last meeting. Huzzah. DH & I have to pack ourselves up; we fly late this afternoon. Hopefully, everyone at the airports will behave like Edwardian gentlemen. Frieda, glad you are back home. Also glad to hear that the meeting was constructive. Sending you lots of patience. DMom does not really get cooking vegetarian, bless her heart, so I take care of that kind of off to one side of the general kitchen fray at her house. I baked several kinds of cookies to distribute here among friends and new neighbors; I will bake again tomorrow for the nieces and nephew. Nancy, glad you have one under the roof. All will be well yet. T., your evening sounds like it was delightful. Looking eagerly forward to carving out a little quiet somewhere in the next week, although not anticipating much in the way of either rest or relaxation while we are visiting my family. That is just a lot of work of a different sort. But it's still good to put all the scramble of the past several months on hold for a few days. Okay, off to respond to a few last emails and shut down the 'puter for a few days. Have a lovely break, my dears, and I will see you on the flip side.

Hello CATs, pKate, I hope your travels are uneventful and you find some unexpected relaxation. T, your girls' party sounds like it was a great time for all. Nancy, sorry you seem to be in a bad technology vortex. I'm sure that will all get sorted out with time. Best of luck in the big financial talk. I hope DS's get restorative home time. Frieda, I am glad you had the advisor meeting and hope it gave you some more definitive answers than to just practice patience, even though that is a solid recommendation. I hope there is some peaceful time in your holiday schedule. Linda, how dud those cheesecakes come out? I'll bet you are nearing the end of the process with deliveries complete. Andrea, I'm glad that Jessie is taking it easy on her adults. One time per night isn't bad at all.
Not much happening here. The fam will all gather tomorrow for festivities and then it will be over. We are taking it really easy this year and ordering pizzas for all. We'll make a big green salad and pull out the paper plates. I'm so relieved that there isn't any need for a big production.
I got my library reserve for Underground Railroad, one of the biggest books of the fall season. I'm nearly halfway through it and liking it so much more than I expected to.
Getting my steps in daily and trying to steer clear of sweet temptations that have accumulated despite my best intentions to stay away. Hope all of you are practicing restraint and getting in some movement when you can.

Quick hi so I don't miss joining in. Did my Thurs am mtg where I'm third weigher. About half attendance so could have been worse. Lots of sweet gifts from thoughtful folks! We'll see what my local mtg turns out. Weather is very wintry but no closings.
Safe travels to PKate and DH. Enjoy the family moments - you mean so much to those you're visiting. Take walks for peace.
Frieda, right there w Anne. Hooray for patience but hoping you have specifics. Wishing you and the girls a loving Christmas.
Nancy, let the priorities rise to the top like you do so well. Health, fam gathered, warm and dry, well fed. Focus on the love. Talking to any of us who need that. The other details can get so loud.
Loved the pic of MCat's C - that smile!!
Anne, pizza, salad. And paper plates. Brilliant!
T, when is word anticipated for DD opportunity?
Must wrap something, anything. Happy Thurs, all.

Anne, I thought you weren't going to read that book. I have wanted to. If you like it, it must be good. Enjoy your low key celebration. Glad to hear everyone's plans. I never made it to TM today. Perhaps tomorrow. N: I have to tell you what DD1 asked me in reference to college. If we have a guidance counselor to talk to in HS and MS, who do we talk to in college? Who am I going to talk to?. Me, or you'll pay someone. Mom hugs/talks are the best. I think that's it for me. Frieda
