WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Plenty of protein yesterday, and I had enough calories left for a piece of pie. It was a little bit of comfort food that I desperately needed.
DS didn't come home again last night, despite telling me that he would. Nancy, scary as hell is right.

continued hugs for Jan...
Edesia...thank goodness that you & DH have each other. DH and I sometimes call each other "our oasis".
i'll be without internet access until this afternoon. I'm going in to work but my office is being painted today so i'll be displaced. Only staying for 1/2 day. Then going to play pickleball around noon time. Will come home and take the pup for a nice long walk and then go back out tonight for a 7:30 session of PB. Puppy goes home tomorrow...we'll miss her!
peace all!

C25. D1 (reset - holiday excess). Working 1/2 day and planning stretching and exercise bike.
(((Jan))) I'm so sorry to hear about DS. Very frightening to have him gone missing. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Keep on with the good eating! That is something you can control and will make you feel better.
EDESIA- sorry to hear that you are dealing with family dysfunction too. Sigh... Glad that you and DH have each other and as Beth says, an oasis.
Nancy - great that you are advancing your count. Hope you can squeeze in a little exercise!
Beth - I had yesterday off as well. I laid around and read a novel, played a game with the kids, stretched for 45 minutes, exercise bike for 30min, and cooked one good meal (scallops sauteed in saffron butter, a squash/apple/wild rice pilaf, fresh green beans, and Swedish bread). I'm kind of a 'doer' so was feeling really unsettled when I went to bed last night. But now that I write it down, it was a 'respectable' day ;-)
Cindy, Jane, Lori, Jackie, Louise, and all that follow... have a great day!
Kathy

Morning, BFF's! Yesterday was a much cleaner eating day. Once I start to feel the physical effects of eating lots of foods I don't normally eat, I want to stop. It is a much more natural process now. Finally made it to the gym today. TTYL
Nancy - I had to look up "sandwich generation". Feels more like a panini., lately. Re: weighing in at WW, what are the rules? What happens if you skip a WI or two? I do think if IE is working for you, you might want to consider putting aside the focus on weight for the time being.
Kathy - Yesterday sounds like an enjoyable day.
Jan - I remember those nights. They were not fun. I'm sorry you are going through this.
Beth - Oasis is right, and I'm thankful. I would love to have a puppy in the house right now!
Lori - In the home stretch of holiday events!
