It's really good! I did tweek it to suite my and JD's tastes: What I did: I used my small IP (3 quart) so cut back about 1/3 of the ingredients and still got 4 big servings from it. I had red lentils, but the difference is small in the finished taste/texture; I used 1 of the small cans of hot rotel and diced 3 roma tomatoes instead of using a big can of tomatoes. added 2 stalks of sliced celery; added 1tsp ground cumin; added 1/2tsp ground cinnamon (I'm sure a 'warm' spice blend would work great too!) Next time I may add coconut milk and garam masala as well.

Rene, thank you for this idea. We love cabbage soup & lentils but I never thought to put them together.

djtnm, I didn't either, and it works! Even my son said I need to put it in my winter rotation lol.
