Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day! I just caught up with all your postings as I have been busy the past two days.
My VBF was discharged from the hospital as an inpatient and sent home to see the hand surgeon the next day and hopefully have her repair of hand/wrist this week. I just heard that it is scheduled for today. Then she can resume the remainder of her recovery.
OTOH, DBIL is in the hospital again with a "terrible flu bug" and needs to see a kidney specialist as well. When it rains it pours. At least DH and I are healthy. He has a duplex carotid artery CT scan tomorrow and I will take him. They are going to inject dye and we decided it would be best if he didn't drive.
DSIL is also scheduled for a procedure (heart cath) tomorrow in PA so we will be waiting to hear from her. Seems it's always something.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all,
Thanks for opening up the cafe Sue! You sure do have a lot going on with medical procedures all around you. You are right! It’s always something. I went to work today and phew! Everyone had something to tell me about their issues and management. I’m not the only one finding it challenging…long story but common themes for all! I always love seeing the team and colleagues, though. I did leave early so I could make the long ride in daylight with light rain and not the downpour expected soon.
My car is due at the dealers tomorrow for a tuneup and work so I may miss my TOPS meeting. My eating has been off track the past few days. 😢Why, oh why do I sabotage my hard work? Such a struggle some days!
Have a great night all. We are watching Bosch now. I read the books. I like the actor. Pam, you mentioned another show similar to the one with Tom Sellick and Reggie the dog - what was it again?
Have a good night all. I’m beat!

Hello friends!
I am definitely feeling more like myself, FINALLY! I have walked two days in a row, a definite improvement.
I had therapy this morning, followed by a trip for groceries and to pick up DH’s meds. After Deb and I walked, I spent several hours listening to my audiobook, the second in the Will Trent series, which is the detective series I recommended, Judy. The current season of the tv series is on CBS on Tuesday night. Not sure where the past seasons are, but possibly Hulu.
Judy - I’m so sorry your DH may have to go on oxygen. With the newer equipment options it is not as limiting, but still.
Sue - I’m glad things are going well for you and your DH. Have you switched out your snowmen decorations for Easter/spring yet? I love the way you decorate for each season!

Hi all,
TGIF! It's been a busy week workwise so we are all glad it's the weekend.
Pam, it's fantastic news that you are finally yourself again. Hearing about you walking is great and sounds like your energy has returned. You've had a time of it for sure. Thanks for letting me know about the Will Trent series. I wrote it down and will check it out. We have a lot of Bosch TV series to watch now. I had read all Michael Connolly's books on which the series is based.
Sue, hope your DH's test went well.
I am not as worried about the possibility of oxygen for my DH now. If it makes him feel much better, it is worth it. He's not needing it now and fine when he's not walking a lot but exercise lowers his oxygen levels significantly.
Not a lot on the schedule for the weekend. I am going to a High Tea for a friend's fundraiser. She has been teaching young girls from Uganda on Zoom in a school there. Education will help many avoid being trafficked. Isn't that sad, but good works she is ding and this high tea is a fundraiser. So far, they have sold a lot of tickets and it'll be fun. She is from Great Britain and promised to bring me a fancy hat or fascinator! :-)
Have a good rest of the day all.

TGIF!
I was up and out early for Mass and an hour of adoration of the blessed sacrament. I will return in the evening for Way of the Cross. Lent has been a struggle with all my illness, but will try to use the time between now and Easter wisely.
Deb and I plan to get a walk in, but not much else going on today. DH will pan fry salmon for our dinner, with asparagus and baked sweet potato for sides.
It’s a rather gloomy, drizzly day, but very warm (74 at present). So far, the thunderstorms have passed to the north. We’ll see what the afternoon holds.
Tomorrow I plan to go to the new yoga class for the second time. After lunch, I will go back to town to volunteer at the annual classic car show. One of the main coordinators had a wife served by our hospice who died several years ago. He got the idea to do a 50/50 raffle with half the funds donated to our hospice. We also get a portion of the entrance fees and all the profit from the sale of water and cold drinks. I am happy to assist with any of the above and will help count up the raffle sales and determine the 50/50 amount, always a last minute, rushed deal. Sometimes we get lucky and the raffle winner donates to hospice, too. Anyway, I consider it time well spent.
Judy- Your high tea sounds like such fun! And such a worthy cause. Was just reading about all the school children abducted in Nigeria and wonder what the fate of those girls will be. So sad!
Sue - Best wishes for a good outcome from DH’s test. I am keeping your DBIL, DSIL and VBF in my prayers.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! We have a cool day in the mid-40's, but still and all it is much warmer than normal in Michigan this time of year. We have broken quite a few records recently and most of us are enjoying what seems to be an early Spring.
I took DH for his test yesterday morning, and honestly it took longer to drive there than the scan took. They wrote it up as a "CT Scan" but he said they put him in the MRI machine and 'whirred' it around a few times and that was about it. We had a 9 a.m. appointment for which we arrived the recommended 15 minutes early, and were out of there by 9:30. We went to one of our favorite Brunch places which was right on the way home, and enjoyed very much.
I did some work around here during the day, then went for a hair appointment in the afternoon. I had left supper prepped (mac 'n cheese with slices of sausage and fresh broccoli. It was very good and yielded some leftovers for another meal.
Judy ~ Glad you are okay with DH's oxygen. I have thought about that for mine in the future and decided it wouldn't be a bad thing. The modern equipment has certainly improved. And whatever makes them feel better!!
Pam ~ I did just begin switching decor to Spring. DH hung the outdoor flag a week or so ago, and I changed some things in the living room, including getting out a (MSU) Spartans throw for the couch. Where I used to do it all in one day, I find it is easier (now) to do a bit at a time. I also enjoy it more. Glad you're feeling better. I am terribly jealous of your walking, but I am toying with the idea myself.
I have begun switching over to Spring in our bedroom and this morning packed away the flannel sheets and changed the quilt from a heavy, dark one to a lighter and brighter one. I still kept the alternative-down blanket and also the heated mattress pad. I put on percale sheets so the heated pad will be a welcome addition at bedtime. Washing the old sheets and packing them away and doing the bed took all morning, so that was a good time investment.
Still working on some meal planning especially for tonight.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Pam ~ We watched with horror the uprising in Haiti yesterday. The founder and patron of the orphanage in Port Au Prince is a Detroiter. He is very popular around here as well has written several books ("Tuesdays With Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet In Heaven", etc). He is also a regular contributor to our newspaper and DH frequently reads me his columns on Sunday morning. Consequently, we feel like we 'know' him, and are very distressed by this news. He was in Haiti when our government ordered an evacuation but he has been unable to make arrangements to leave. So sad ...... Please keep Mitch and his young charges in prayer.
Judy ~ Back when we had our Red Hat group we attended a number of High Tea events and enjoyed them very much! There are so many things I miss from pre-COVID and that is but one.
Back to the laundry which is almost finished up. Then some rest time before DH gets home.

Hi, great to read all the notes today. Daisy and I took and hour's walk "uptown". She loves peering into all the shops and seems to love that walk more than the one along the canal which is so pretty. Ha ha--she is a people person for sure. She thinks she can walk long ways and then realizes she has to turn around to go home and drags. DH picked us up when she was done and she hasn't woken up yet from her long nap. So cute. One of my goals has been to walk more and drink more water. I am inspired by you both in your exercise routines.
Our neighbor just got a new puppy - Boston Terrier - Gus is now 8 weeks old and just adorable. She has another one who is 10 yrs. Reminds me of Ann and we also had Bostons in the past, too. She laughingly told me "If you are thinking of doing this, don't! We are exhausted by the energy level of the puppy!" But, of course, they adore him and love him. All babies - pets included - can exhaust us. :-)
Pam, the classic car shows sounds like fun. We watch them on TV sometimes. Some of those "antiques" were the ones we rode around in during high school. ha ha
The high tea on Sunday is a benefit for the young girls my friend teaches over Zoom from Nepal not Uganda. Not sure where I dreamed up Uganda when I said I that to you earlier, but it's all a worthy cause.
Our DD is trying hard to get a full time teaching job in CA since her business has scaled down so much this past year. Smart idea and she is now submitting references to a new school district after an interview. I hope she gets the job.
Sue, I also love your decorating tales. You are so attentive to details and I am sure it must look beautiful. Yes, my DH is not ready for oxygen yet, but sometime he will be. Like you said, if it makes them feel a lot better, why not? With my asthma and other breathing issues, I could be a candidate some day, too.
I hope everyone has a great night and I'll check in soon.

Oh my! Mitch Albom is one of my favorite authors! I hope he survives this perilous situation. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Judy I hope your daughter gets the job and that it has good benefits to ease her financial woes.
My sister has a new boxer pup who was “so cute and cuddly” a couple of weeks ago but has turned into a naughty thief and escape artist and is being sent to “military school” to learn to behave. 😂
Debbie and I got in a short walk, but got rained out. My weight has been creeping up and the prednisone is not helping with the scale. I need to get serious again.
