.Boy it is hard to use the pneumatic tube at drive up bank teller when your arm objects!
Strange experience at Safeway this morning.horrible diaper smell as I approached checkout area. Saw no babies. Got in line and there wa a very thin, tall man in a track suit with one sneaker in his hand, barefoot on the side. He waited patiently and I assumed he was with the woman in front of me. Then the stench hit. Gag. My stuff was in the beltway.. I backed up . The lady in front of him was leaving.he stared at the cashier, then left. When I got outside, he was not with the lady. He was standing at the side of the traffic way in the parking lot holding his sneaker staring at a tree trunk. He seemed lost. I did not want to approach him. I got home in less than ten minutes and called police in case there was a lost mentally disabled person. No, but they would check him. Hope all went well.
got to set out some ant bait in the yard with heavy pot over it to keep Minni from it. It is that time when ant hills show up.
Then it it just raising the hem on my caftans and fixing a pillow case.

Linda, I’m sorry for the man and glad he was quiet for your sake. When I loved downtown I was accosted verbally by more than one mentally unstable person. I hope the police were a able to find and help him. How is the arm feeling?
Karen, YS doesn’t start until June. We had rain and wind all day yesterday. Today it’s still windy but sunny. Iggy wanted to mow but the backyard is still soggy. We had a brief (couple of seconds) power outage after a big flash of lightning. Not long enough for the generator to kick in but long enough for the internet modem and Apple TV to have to reset. I hope you get a sunny day today for poor Arya’s sake.
Kathy, I find any soup I have ever ordered in a restaurant to be too salty, so I no longer order soup except at the one local Chinese restaurant we go to. They don’t oversalt.
I woke up in the ween hours with aching muscles, so I got up and started cooking. For some reason these muscle aches feel better standing than lying down. I made taco sauce and refried beans to go with shrimp tacos. Iggy made a shrimp stir fry yesterday and kept so e shrimp aside for a shrimp cocktail but I decided on the tacos instead. I also mixed together a focaccia dough to bake tomorrow morning. I don’t know what we will make to go with though.
Have a good Saturday.

Thanks for the start, Chele. The feeder has been quite active today. We had a pair of Brown Thrashers (state bird of Georgia) visit. We saw them quite frequently last year, but later in the year. So they are ahead of schedule. They were trying to figure out the suet block this morning, which was quite amusing. It will be coming down soon to accommodate the hummingbird feeder. Sorry about the achy muscles, but at least you can get some relief by standing. Lunch sounds amazing! I'm sure it won't take long to settle on a use for the focaccia. I'm surprised YS starts so late, especially since I thought some of your farmers had greenhouses. I got SC strawberries at our local farm stand on Thursday. They are so good, especially compared to the barely-ripe store bought ones I've been getting.
Linda, I hope the man at Safeway got help. I wouldn't have approached him either. Very sad, but too risky. Are there homeless encampments in the same area? Have you ever used 20 Mule Team Borax on the ant hills? I've had success with it, but still something that wouldn't be good for Minni to get into. What was going on with your arm while you were at the bank? I may have missed that you were having arm problems. The knee problems are more than enough to deal with. Did you injure it getting ready for DSIL's visit?
I'm happy to hear the damage in St. Augustine wasn't widespread, Kathy. I thought I saw something about it being an F-1 so that could have been disastrous. I hope you're having great weather today and it's cool enough to be enjoyable. I'm caught up on Elsbeth. She's getting pretty stealth on investigating Wagner's "foundation".
Busy day here. We have a clean bed, Arya has oats for upcoming breakfasts, and I have a loaf of GF sourdough in the oven I think it's going to be really good. I did a kettlebell workout this morning, which I am trying to do every Saturday. I plan to stop at TJ Maxx on Monday to get a couple of different sizes. They usually have some in stock. I have a 10lb, 12lb, and 15lb already, and would love to get a 5lb and a 20lb. That should take care of my needs for quite some time. Dale went to tennis. We have bright sunshine and temps have been mostly in the 60s this afternoon, so it was a good day to play. We got well over an inch of rain Thursday into yesterday. Arya is happy for no wind. She and I have been out walking and spent some time on the deck. The little meadow is buzzing with bees and butterflies.

texasless91, glad your rain stopped and doggie is happy outside with you. the arm does not want to go up very high after COVID shot yesterday. Was a bit nauseated and generally achy too. Today is just the arm and allergies. The pollen, still trees, is in the red zone. only supposed to be 90 today, pleasant in shade, not too bad in sun.

Chele, I rarely order soup out either. Publix had a BOGO on Panera soup and most of them were really high in sodium. I think the tortilla soup was the best of them, but it was still high. How were the shrimp tacos? Sounds delicious! Hope the muscle soreness is better tomorrow.
Karen, I didn't see much of anything about the St. Augustine tornado in the local paper or news, so I'm assuming it wasn't too bad. I also heard that it was an F-1. It all depends on where it touched down. It was a nice day today and I wish it could stay like this. Glad you and Arya could spend some time outside and I'm sure she's happier without the winds. I hear lots of birds outside, but the only things I saw in the pond today were turtles. The oak trees around here leafed out a couple of weeks ago, so it's much harder to see any birds in there.
Linda, that was good of you to call the police about the man you saw. I hope they got him some help. I wouldn't have stopped either. Hope the sore arm doesn't last too long.

Linda, I seriously hope you don't do anything today. I can't believe you did as much as you did yesterday, given that you were reacting to the Covid vaccine. How are your symptoms today? Both of us rarely had them last more than a couple of days, so hope you'll be all good by tomorrow, especially with your guest coming very soon. I saw the news coverage. The Middle East has been a powder keg for centuries and I'm afraid things won't be changing any time soon. I hope it won't lead to WW3, given that most of their conflicts have been somewhat contained. It irritates me that we all live on a small planet and just can't seem to get along.
I agree with you on the Panera soups, Kathy. I also got the BOGO one time. That was more than enough. I make a copycat of their Autumn Squash Soup that is much better (IMO) than theirs and I use zero salt. Our oak trees are just now leafing out, so we can see birds in them still. Peeping Tommy, the cowbird, is still hanging around. He's quite entertaining. I haven't seen any turtles on the lake yet. We've usually seen them by now, so I hope they will return.
Chele, are the green beans starting to germinate? We aren't expecting rain for several days and temps in the low 80s. I hope you have comfortable weather and your allergies aren't bothering you. Like Kathy, I was wondering how the shrimp tacos were.
My latest loaf of GF sourdough turned out pretty well. I had some toasted for breakfast. I worked some outside this morning. I now have a stone path in the meadow that will allow me to get to the currant bushes. I think they are going to produce a good crop this year. We also have fruit trees starting to produce, which we've never had before. The peaches, plums, and apricots might be hard and wormy, but it appears that we'll have fruit. Looks like perhaps Punxsutawney Phil was right about an early spring. While I was out, I cleared the remaining bags of soil from what will be the new garden area so I should be able to start working there when I get time and the weather cooperates. That needs to happen soon so I can get veggies out. I already have 5 grow bags of garlic that will go there (hope that will deter the deer). Won't be today because I'm starting to feel the aches and pains of pruning trees, positioning stones, and lifting soil bags. I need to keep moving or I may not be able to make it to class tomorrow. Also have MG meeting tomorrow evening.

Wow, Karen, stone path is a lot of work. I remember it well. Good to do before heat. Hope the fruit turns out good. You sure deserve some rest.
Kathy, ditto on the soup. Like it, but so much sodium and my favorites are so fattening.
think new meds are creating confusion or memory problems with dsil. We had established twice a different room this time with no step and close to bathroom with better air. Then After I told her room was ready and I had managed to stabilize the sheets on the air bed, she messaged that she did not want to push Bob out of his room and his own bed. Huh? Uh oh. I worry about her traveling alone.
Need togo to the store for stuff again because she is coming and now has more stuff she cannot eat, not just the taste issues. It has to be a special variety of tea…..But she is too busy to answer. Arggg
