Decent sleep finally.
had not imagined dsil would be trying to restrict food and diet on vacation,….
had table set for breakfast she likes…frozen mini filled pancakes ,bacon, strawberries, eggs for us, but she is going out to lunch and only wants yogurt. Unset the table.
no idea where we are eating tonight, but she won't want a lot after a lunch out and does not eat salad, Thai, Indian, or Chinese. Seems harder than usual. Maybe it's my presurgery stress.

Linda, you are probably stressing more because of surgery anticipation, but you are such a good host, I think you would stress anyway.
Karen, thanks for the start. How was the Osteo report? Did you beat your record? I hope Arya let you sleep in. Are you feeling sore today? The farmer usually has herb and veggie plants, so we’ll see how expensive they are. It’s all cash so can’t go overboard.
Kathy, we are looking forward to the 50s this weekend and we hope for a couple of dry days. They are saying we might see some frost. We had rain overnight and the temps are in the 60s. Wish I could send some cool air your way.
My ultrasound is scheduled for next Friday. Guess it’s not urgent. I made Iggy some turkey meatloaf and baked potato for lunch, something that would not upset his stomach. I wish he would learn to cook more bland food for his own sake. It’s the easiest thing in the world. Stick to steaming, water sauté, baking and broiling fish and chicken, no tomato, citrus, alcohol or frying. If it didn’t hurt so much to stand, I would take over the cooking. I am a simple cook and that’s what he needs. When the leg is better, I will throw him out of the kitchen.

Cooking with a bad leg sucks, sure do know that.what do they think it is? Sounds like they are checking veins? But you must not have the swelling and redness and heat symptoms of a clot. maybe pulled a muscle? I seem to be able to do that just stepping away from a counter in any twisting motion. Ain't aging wonderful?
dinner tonight will be trip to Five Guys, exactly what I do not need to eat, but tasty and easy.

Chele, the ultrasound sounds like a CYA. I have one of those coming up in early May on a carotid artery plaque they found when I was in the hospital 18 months ago. If it only needs to be looked at every 18 months, how bad can it be? How's the leg? Too bad you can't get any PT relief until probably the week after next. Do you have a PT clinic close by that you or Iggy have gone to previously? Are there certain things that bother it more than others, other than standing? I guess the spiciness is a cultural thing for Iggy. But I think if something made me feel bad, I would try to avoid it. Does he enjoy cooking to the point that he won't be happy being kicked out of the kitchen, even though it's for his own good?
Congrats on a good night's sleep, Linda. Go on vacation and go on a diet? WHAT?!? I hope you can sit far away from the spouse of the guy with Covid. I assume he's not coming to dinner and I hope by "out" it may be comfortable enough for that to be outdoors. Five Guys does have a patio. Definitely not a good choice for you. I think a lot can be attributed to presurgery stress.
Kathy, do you have your Garmin on? I wish I was less of a data addict and could go without mine once in a while. Have they put any more rain in your forecast? We were supposed to have rain all day and it was raining when we got up this morning but quit by the time Arya finished breakfast. They are saying we have a cold front with more rain coming in this afternoon. I was going to wear a skort to the plant sale tomorrow but switched to long pants after I saw how cool it is predicted to be in the morning.
I was really sore after the gym yesterday but slept ok. I've spent a chunk of time getting the last minute things ready for the sale and to have a quick dinner option when I get home tomorrow. I think I will take a salad in a jar for lunch--a lot of stuff from the TJ's run yesterday plus chickpeas. I used some of the latest GF sourdough loaf to make croutons and will take some of those. Hopefully I can check in tomorrow evening; if not I'll be back on Sunday. Happy Weekend!

Karen, you sure will be busy.
no she was leaving our house in peace to go to dinner with him and maybe his son. So now we have her and another dinner to come up with. Phooey. So easier sometimes to love people at distance.
a 24/7 guest who never leaves unless you take her somewhere wears after three days.

Linda, glad you got some sleep. My dad was fond of this quote: Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days. --Benjamin Franklin Chele, I would gladly take some of those 50s! It's 90° out right now, but the humidity is in the 30s which is low for us. It still feels really hot though. I agree with Karen that the ultrasound sounds like a CYA. Maybe Iggy could at least eliminate the frying? My guess would be that's the worst culprit. Karen, no, I didn't put the Garmin on today. I'm not even sure we'll get the rain on Monday. One of the weather guessers said she wasn't impressed with the front that's coming. Hopefully, we'll get something from it. Good luck with the plant sale! Hope it's a great success.

I was trying to explain to our guest why I was mostly comfortable walking the dog at 92 degrees and did not start to sweat a little until I had been in the sun a while…humidity is under 20.
