I'm feeling a little stressed. I learned on Friday morning about a friend's death (on Thursday afternoon) and I cried uncontrollably, although for a relatively short time (several minutes, probably fewer than five). It hit me harder than I expected. I hadn't know how ill she'd been. And the funeral is today at 1pm. I will bring extra tissues with me... DH will drive.

These days, I am stressed to the max!!!! Glad to know that chocolate may help me!!! LOL
Seems as though every article that I read these days that is talking about healthy eating, always includes beans! I think they have become the go-to food for people cutting down on meat in their diets. Now, I see them on the list of foods that may reduce stress! I think that we are just now tapping into their benefits.

Sorry I have been MIA all week. Somehow the week got away from me. I don't think I really have much stress in my like at the moment. Many of the foods listed on the "reduce stress" list are ones I would eat, although I am not fond of fatty fish, matcha or sauerkraut, etc.
Holly, sending hugs to you. One of my best friends died last Thursday (she had ALS) and although I didn't cry when I found out as she was so ill, when I needed to ask for the time off work to attend her funeral, I got quite emotional.
I am ready to take over tomorrow.

I knew in general about most of these foods and what they can do, but I didn't know or remember about what and how all the nutrients reacted with each other and in turn with your body.
One thing I do remember reading is about fermented foods. If you buy them, avoid buying the jars or sealed containers. The canning process eliminates all the good for you nutrients. Buy refrigerated fermented foods as they retain the nutrients that are good for your body and gut microbes. The heat from the canning process kills all the nutrients.
I have made my own sauerkraut. It's easy to do and can be done in a quart jar. You can shred your own cabbage or buy it in the bags in the store that you add your own dressing to or bottled coleslaw dressing.
I have never tried matcha in anything.
