This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning everyone.
I got back Friday afternoon and it felt like we were go, go, go all weekend. We did not get a lot accomplished around the house. We had DGS Saturday night. He is 11 now and is for the most part very easy to keep. He keeps himself entertained. He unfortunately has developed quite the sassy attitude and mouth and I don't tolerate it from an 11 year old. It appears I am not one of his favorite people anymore and I am fine with that. I love him but I am not going to let me disrespect me or R (or any other adult) when he is here. The neighbor and I had signed up for a class to learn how to make cake pops. It was a very unorganized experience - I think it was the first time they had ever done it. Mine look horrendous, but apparently taste good because DGS and DGD ate them. We did have a fun time giggling over the process.
Thursday night the Moose club we belong too is hosting a paint nite and DN and I will be going to that as well. Yall know I love my paint nites and I haven't done one in forever. I am a little concerned because yesterday I took a lot of time to do some food prep for the week - and I want to give up alcohol for a month. Generally, Paint Nite always involved drinks - I really don't want to cave so soon after trying to start over (AGAIN). But I committed with my DN and I don't want to cancel on her. I am going to offer to be DD.
Lora and Robin so sorry you both had to deal with people not showing up for appointments and not calling. It is so very rude and disrespectful.
Janet glad things worked out with the worrisome parent.
Jill I am glad to hear you are feeling a little better. I remember I was sick for a LONG time before I finally got over it.
Susie what is on your busy agenda for today?
I am back in the office today and working through emails and trying to catch up some.
Waving to everyone - hope you all have a great day.

Robin - I am sorry - you asked where I stayed. We were at the Crowne Plaza by Dulles Airport. It was actually Herndon, VA. The only time I left the hotel was to walk over to Kohls to buy a long sleeve shirt/sweater because I only took one and the meeting rooms were FREEZING. I normally would take a jacket with me but it was so nice when I left home I just didn't think about it. I also always keep a jacket in my car - however I was in a rental car - so no jacket. I will know better next time - always bring something just in case. I did find a nice sweater that wasn't too expensive. I never shop at Kohls - mostly because there isn't one convenient to where I live.

Good morning,
It is a beautiful morning and will get to the low 70s later.
Jana, maybe you can work on the cake pop recipe. They are so tasty. The paint class will be fun with DN. Being the DD sounds like a great idea...and you don't have to worry about being pushed to drink something. Herndon isn't terribly far from me. I used to pass Dulles every day I drove to work when I was working in the ER down in Fairfax. Why do they make meeting rooms SO cold! If its to keep people awake, I'm not sure it works. Meetings just make me sleepy😃
I'm going to get a bite to eat and figure out what I want to do first. We had a frost advisory last night, and even though it didn't get super cold, the grass is pretty wet this morning. I'll be back later. Wishing everyone a great day and waving to all,
RobinMD

Good morning and happy Tuesday! We have sunshine here again so HURRAY! It's still cooler than normal, but I'm not going to complain about that. Yesterday, I decided to walk at the park instead of hit the gym. I just really wasn't feeling more inside time, and wanted to enjoy the nice weather. The park we were at has ball fields, tennis & pickle ball courts, soccer fields, etc. And a very nice meandering track that is kind of set off from all of those sports areas. That track connects to the walking path that is the Veteran's Memorial, where they have retired helicopters, a tank, a drone, a BIG anchor, a cannon, a gatling gun type thing and some other big equipment that has been used by different branches of the military. So I walked that portion too, to be able to read the plaques and learn a little something about it all. It was very interesting and one of the helicopters is the exact model that my dad worked on in Vietnam. It was smaller in person that I had ever thought it to be in my mind. Jana - thanks for starting us! Glad you made it home safe & sound. Sounds like you hardly had time to catch your breath over the weekend. Thankfully, that sassy mouth & disrespectful attitude is usually a phase, but I agree that hanging tough and not permitting it is the right move. No fun though, for sure. I'm not sure what all I'll be getting into today, but I do need to pop into the local grocery for a few things. Other than that, my day is up for grabs. Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone. BBL

Good Morning All - didn't sleep well last night - ugh. The repairman is supposed to be here at 10:00 so I didn't walk with DD - will do so after he leaves. Today I have bridge and then I have to pick up MDGD from school, and then get to DS's house to get DGS off the bus. DH has an appt with his opthalmologist and will have his eyes dilated (which he does not enjoy) to check on his Glacoma. I guess we will be going to church dinner this evening, so at least I don't have to cook.
Jana - Paint night sounds like fun. If those cake pops were GF I could probably eat 10 of them - ha - I'm sure very yummy regardless of how they look!
Robin - I am looking forward to the 70 degree weather today too!
Lora - if your day is "up for grabs," I have some work for you - ha ha ha

Robin - I hope you're able to get done, whatever it is that you need to get done today Susie - Dang, woman! Sounds like you need to hire a personal assistant to help you get through today! If I was closer, I'd definitely be willing to fill that role. Ha! I'm off to the grocery and it's such a beautiful day, I might take the long was around

Me again.
Darn it Robin - I wish I had known how close you were, I would have met up with you for dinner one night. I pretty much stayed to myself at night - too many people I didn't know. I know yall don't believe me but in a large group of people I don't know very well - I am quiet - I just don't know what to say to them. I feel like I am eavesdropping if interject into their conversation and I don't want to be rude. Apparently, I look unapproachable - I don't know - I am happy that I have a job - but it would be nice to feel included when going to corporate functions.
I don't know if I want to perfect my cake pop skills - LOL however, I told DN that next time we have the DGDs we should make cake pops with them. Her DGD is 4 and mine is 13 LOL but I know Lillie would completely get a kick out of helping her little DGD. All I know is my cake pops would NOT stay on the stick and kept sliding down the stick and we got the giggles over it.
Yall - NONE of the bulbs I planted from the Dollar store have come up at all. It has been almost 3 weeks - so I guess they are going to be duds. It is ok since I didn't pay too much for them but I am a little bit disappointed LOL.
Waving to all - hoping you all have a great day.

Hello again,
Jana, maybe another time! You know, those bulbs may very well come up next year. Don't dig them up. They don't always come up the first year they are planted.
Lora, it is amazing to see how small some of those helicopters were, and to think that the men were in there with weapons and probably a gunner at the door, too. What a great find on your walk. It makes you so proud and reminds you of what they really did. I am humbled every time.
Susie, did you get to enjoy the weather? I agree with your DH...I hate getting my eyes dilated, even though it is so important with the glaucoma. My mom had it and felt the same way! Sorry that you had a rough night's sleep. We seem to always be having these issues at the same time, don't we?
Janet, I hope you have a nice Passover. I was thinking of you.
Jill, I still hope you are feeling better each day!
I got the orchard mowed today and that caught me up. I think we are expecting some light rain overnight, so tomorrow I am really hoping to weed my flowerbed by the back door. I got an email from an Oncology/Hematology office today and we scheduled a virtual interview for Thursday morning. I know the doctors in that practice and like both of them. One of them used to come into the lab at the hospital and he would look at slides under the microscope. He and I were both a lot younger then! Ha! I am going to get something to eat. I have lost another 8 lbs, and am now down 28 total. I want to lose another 10 to 20, but I am really glad to be down this much. Anyway, tonight is steak with the last of my Morrel gravy and lentil salad. I might do a small green salad on the side, but that might be too much. I will be heading up early tonight and read until my eyes start to close. I will be back tomorrow. I hope everyone has a nice evening. Waving to all,
RobinMD

Hi Everyone,
Today was a nice day. We have the first time slot for the yard. My partner of didn't really want to go out but once we were outside I think she was enjoying the fresh air. To me the morning time seems to go by faster.
I lucked out again with extended care as many of my angels that give me more difficulty didn't come or left early today. Yeah!
We found the kid's last day is June 17th but we get stuck with the kids for extended care their first week of the summer session. Ugh! I don't remember having to do that last year. My teaching partner said we did. One of the days is Juneteenth though so one less day but still. After that week we have our time off. I know it is difficult with my partner and her father and I try to empathize but listening to her every day gets a bit too much.
Passover was nice. Thanks Robin for thinking about me. We had my sisters, nephew's and my nephew's wife who is expecting around June 20-21st and two of my sister's friends. I took home some leftovers for dinnerĵ. I dont really keep Passoverĥ away from home and even then at h home I make exceptions on certain foods or certain items. Jana, glad you got some laughs about the k-pops.
Waving hi to Lora, Susie, Jill and anyone I may have missed. Hope you get a peaceful rest tonight.
