Do you eat planned snacks, or do you wait until you are hungry, or do you “see” food and automatically pop it in your mouth on impulse and call it a snack?

I plan out my food for the day. I have planned snacks, mostly fruit. I don't have any snack foods in the house, so I'm not tempted by them.

It depends... * In the past (long ago) I would plan to have WW ice cream with a homemade low-calorie chocolate sauce when doing the exchange diet in 1984 * When not on program or thinking of diets/eating right - I found myself tasting whatever came my way so "see-food" diet * Now...I find myself sometimes in the kitchen reaching for something to eat, asking myself if I am really hungry, and then deciding of yes-no whether to have whatever I was reaching for or not.

I try not to plan snacks. If my head is on right, I will eat carrots/hummus or a slice of cheese as a snack if I'm really hungry between meals and can't wait. However, if my head is not on right, I will eat almost anything and call it a snack - dry cereal, crackers, etc.
I try not to buy snack foods except crackers with pb but my SO likes to have a few in the house. I'm not usually tempted by his but sometimes I am.

I don't plan snacks other than having a calorie amount set aside from the three meals. I will use those calories for snacks if they are still available, or not if I'm not really wanting anything. My go to snack is cheese, but I really try to limit that food, because I am a total cheese rat. If I'm being saintly I'll cut up an apple. Seems more satisfying in pieces rather than chomping on the whole thing.
