This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning ladies. I am in a MUCH better mood today. Of course, it is still early, and we have a team meeting today so it could go sideways at any moment. Daddy came home yesterday. I have only seen him a handful of times since Valentine's Day. Don't tell anyone but I was missing him. Of course, he came home sick, and I don't believe GF babys him like I do. I got him all set up with Robitussin and some Vicks vapor rub. He also had another fall while he was there. He scrapped his arm up pretty good. I had packed him a little bag with his bandages in it, to keep in his car. He can't use any sort of tape on his skin because his skin tears so easily. His GF had taped his arm all up - I told him to get in the shower and get it wet and when he got out I would redo the bandage for him. He asked for chicken tenders and French fries for dinner LOL since GF if vegan and doesn't cook meat. He also ate a cake pop that I made over the weekend. I only have 1 left and I know he will take care of that today. So, for now it is nice to have him back with me. Lora, I have a question - I have some cubed pork that I purchased from Sam's club that I need to use - I am really kind of unsure what to do with it. Any ideas off the top of your head? You are the recipe guru. So happy you got to the gym yesterday and got that behind you. I bet you will be up to the same reps as before in no time. I went to my fitness class on Monday and - well I have lost a lot of everything, stamina, muscle everything - but I still like the trainer - he still pushes you to do just one more, and I definitely need the push. That is interesting about the mushroom FB group. Janet, I hope the numbness wore off quickly for you last night. I hope your soup was yummy and you figure out how to shut down your laptop. Susie, I hope you enjoy your "light" day, although, I suspect a light day for you is probably exhausting for me. Robin, please let us know how the interview went. Jill, how are you feeling? I hope you are feeling at least somewhat better. I hope everyone has a terrific Thursday.

Good morning and happy Thursday! The sun is out again, but it's still cooler than would be expected this time of year. But I think we might actually see 70° this afternoon. Today is our 2nd try at getting a siding estimate...Lol. Again, scheduled for 2pm. We'll see. Jana - thanks for starting us. So, cubed pork...like cube steak but pork? Or pork in little cubes? I've never used cubed pork, but I'm guessing you could cook it much like you would cube steak. Or maybe a pork version of chicken parm? If it's just pork cut into cubes, then you could cook brown them and cook until tender and toss with some bbq sauce, or they'd probably be nice browned and cooked in broth with added veggies for a soup, maybe. Most of our pork comes in the form of bacon, bulk sausage, smoked sausage or pulled pork, so I'm not really sure what else to point you towards. Maybe try searching Pinterest if none of these sound like what you're working for. Janet - so glad that you came back to all your mirrors in place. I hope you're not too sore today from your dental work. Susie - I hope you have today "off". I think you did enough for a few days of work and errands yesterday! Probably a pretty quiet day around here. After I finish my coffee I need to clean up around CCs area. His hopping around and zoomies leave us with bits of hay all over that corner of the room. And right now it's proper mess. Ha! Have a wonderful Thursday! I'll likely check back later.

Hi again!
Did I already mention that both MIL and FIL are sick? They've both been diagnosed with viral walking pneumonia. Since it's viral, the only Rx meds given were tessalon perles. I've always found those to be not very effective, but I also totally understand the hesitancy to give the old and infirmed a codeine based cough medicine. PLUS, I tried to explain to MIL that coughing is your body's way of clearing the lungs and stopping the coughing completely is probably not the best. She's insisting that they need antibiotics to feel better. I tried to tell her that viral mainly just takes time and your own immune system to fight off the virus. I'm worried about them, but IDK what I can possibly do to help them. Sigh.

Hello All - I have to laugh because you are right in what you said about my "light" day. When I was on my way to walk with DD, a neighbor who was walking her dog talked me into playing mah jongg today since my game yesterday was cancelled AND THEN I decided that since I had the time I would get my hair cut - ha! Of course I still have my old neighborhood Book Club this evening !
Jana - it is very touching that you were happy to get Pops back home and take care of him properly! So sorry about the fall. I think he likes to come back to your house to get some of his favorite meals- ha!
Lora - Oh dear...MIL and FIL sick again? I certainly do know how L O N G it takes to get rid of a viral infection! I hope they can find the patience it will take to get over the pneumonia. Good luck with your next siding estimate.
Waving to everyone...off to play mah jongg

Hi again!
Susie - Lady! You and your "light days"! hahaha!
Well, I got CCs area spiffed up, then I fixed DH some lunch and then got a message from my egg lady that she had a bunch of eggs ready to go and wanted to give me first shot. I needed a couple of things at the grocery so popped out to pick up those and swung by her house on the way home and snagged my beautiful chicken butt nuggets. We were down to just a few left from the last purchase, so she timed it just right!
MIL just sent me a message that they spoke with their Dr. again to tell him that FIL has started coughing up greenish yellow sputum (GROSSSS!). Anyway, so now the Dr. is calling in antibiotic Rx's for both of them. IDK what we'll do if they both end up back in the hospital. MIL cancelled 2 P.T. appointments this week and FIL put off his chemo treatment until next week. I hate that, but they never let us know these things until after they've already over and done with. It makes me nervous about him postponing the chemo. I've read that this type of cancer is "smart" and can "adjust" to the treatments and that they should not be skipped.

Well, thank goodness! The siding guy actually showed. Yay! I think we're going to do siding and gutters for now. Eventually we'll follow with window replacement, but that is not emergent. Oh my goodness, the color options were almost a bit overwhelming. We ended up going with "Mountain Fern" for the siding colorb -b it's kind of a muted greenish/grayish/taupish color, and a creamy sand color for soffits, under the porch & patio overhang and gutters/downspouts and replacing the current dark brown shutters with more dark brown shutters...Lol. All very earthtone(ish) and I think all will definitely fit in with the setting and style of house, plus play well off of the stone porch and brick foundation. He gave us a ballpark to have all of the work done, but will email a final invoice for approval. Seems like it will be about 2 months before we can get the work done, so IDK how that might impact the pool situation. I'm thinking we might just wait for them to finish before we put it up, since we're placing it on the patio and will pretty much be right in the way of where they'll be doing a lot of work on the back side of the house. Oh well. It is what it is. We'll see how it all works out.

Oh, and one last thing that I think is pretty cool. DD and DSIL are in Detroit and at the NFL draft! What a fun experience for them. I'm actually a little jealous.

Hi Everyone, This afternoon we had a fire drill during the kid's rest time. This is the first time since I have been working here that we did this. Luckily for us two of our kids left earlier. Of course they were startled. One girl started crying. I had to really wake up one of kids. It would have been nice if we had some assistance though. We have to come down the stairs in the rear of our classroom. That is a challenge.
The first teacher I used to work with fell down those steps trying to get the kids out. Since she was up in the front and I was in the back trying to get the kids down the stairs safely I didn't know she fell and found out later. I heard she sued the company later on from a co-worker. She had multiple surgeries on it. Yet I see her all over in different countries so I have to wonder about how hurt she really is/ was. She has not been working anymore but she is involved in real estate somehow and was always telling me about buying houses to rent.
I think Susie runs on energizer batteries. Lol.
I don't have plans this weekend other than to go to my sister's for dinner tommorow night. I may help my friend on Saturday. Other than that my usual errands, gym and reading. Jana, glad that your father came home for a bit of tlc and home cooked food.
Lora, sorry about your MIL and FIL. I hope they get well soon. Have a good evening.
Waving to Jill and Robin.
P.S.- didn't have any pain or soreness.
