Do you have any problems with the people around making comments about your weight, losing weight, what you eat (both what and the amount), and so forth, how do you deal with the comments?

I'm not around many people but when I am I don't get comments on my weight/size or what I do/don't eat. However, my husband makes comments. Sometimes it is just him offering me something but other times he'll argue I should eat it. I speak up most of the time, but cave at other times. One of his arguments is I'm so small but I'm in the middle of the BMI range for my height so that is okay. Although recently "they" have come out with the idea that older people should weigh more. The printout I got after one of my doctor visits said they want me to weight 15 to 20 pounds more which would put me at the bottom of the overweight range. I'm too concerned about my blood pressure and blood sugar to gain weight intentionally.

My husband is always sure that his knowledge, gleaned from this that and the other source, is most current and best and should be followed - SO - I get an ear full frequently. He doesn't nag but he "informs" ~ Not out and about a LOT so not any/many to say much about what I do or don't eat.

I was on a cruise and a dear friend (male) of 30 plus years said I should gain ten pounds. His wife called out "big boobs!" which cracked us up. He denied it, but I'm thinking that was where he was going. Also my arms were bare and I have muscle but it's old lady stringy muscle. I shut him down by saying my gastroenterologist is happy with my weight, reminding him there are health issues involved.

By this time of my life, no one comments about my weight or what I'm eating. I'd probably bite their heads off. But yeah, back when I was in my 20s and 30s, I got a lot of that "You are eating too little", "You'd look good with a bit more weight on you". "Surely you can have a little more".
I think if someone did that today, I'd just give them a LOOK.
