Thankful it's FRIDAY!!
I finished another contract report yesterday and feel bone-weary of writing reports at 5:00 am and thought, hey, time for a break! I have 2 left from the last Fulton Co trip and I'll apply them to MAY. Not complaining but man, that was a LOT of work through April and trust me, I have plans for that check
State testing is well underway. This year, it finally feels like it's all under control. I am prepping today for the Math and Science tests that do not begin until next week but Reading is focused on Make Ups today and next week when possible.
I have evaluation reports due for work - soon - but I did all the testing earlier this month so now I just need to finish those reports before May deadlines.
The house feels quiet with our ColbyGirl gone. I was reflecting on how we have not lived in this house without HER so it's all very strange. Lindsey is still very sad but at least she'll talk about her whereas Gary just can't. His choice. I chuckled the other day how in human years Colby would have been 114 years old!! She out-lived my Grandfather (99 years old) and Gary's Aunt Marguerite (94 years old) !!
Got a sad message yesterday from Virginia - her sister, my Aunt Marion is in the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure and her kidneys are shutting down. This is the aunt I visited three weeks ago for her 90th Birthday celebration. Awwe poor Aunt Marion. But she understands everything and her kids are allowing her to make her own decisions. So...Virginia text me that Marion has 'diminished use of her kidneys. The Nephrologist recommended dialysis. Marion refused. So, not a lot of alternatives to remove the excess fluid" Hmmm? I thought that sounded kind of harsh. I reached out to my cousins instead and their response was a bit kinder: "Mom's heart has been injured by the diuretics. It's complicated case. If they try to help her heart her kidneys suffer and vice versa. She's not really interested in an invasive heart procedure but she might not be a candidate for dialysis because her heart may not be able to handle it. It's not looking great." Okay, that doesn't sound like my Aunt Marion "Refused"!! geeze Virginia. Stop stirring up trouble! lol SMH

I'm not quite caught up on this week's posts but I have been trying to stay in the loop!
Weather here is sunny but COLD - 40s. Windy. We might shoot up to 70s this weekend but the warmer weather will bring rain so I'm not setting up deck furniture yet. Still working on the wet basement. Had Carly 'help' last Sunday but that was frustrating as SHE was overwhelmed and just stood there complaining. Grrrr I had to direct, "Throw this out. Go through your boxes there. Carry this out to garbage" that was MORE work than I had time or patience for. She carried a lot of GOOD Christmas decorations to the trash bin and I had to turn around and rescue them back out! She just shouted, "Well I didn't know!" Fine. Leave. Be gone. Apparently 'helping' me was an irritant to her day so I am better off (calmer) without her help. Gary is the same way so it's on me and maybe if Linds is around to finish getting soggy things out of the basement. The cleaning service only moved bins from one wet section into another. And picked up their industrial fans/dehumidifiers within 24 hours. Huge disappointment but I'm letting it go - too much on my plate to let this project take over - I feel like Scarlett O'Hara, "There's always tomorrow..." to rebuild/ clean the basement out LOL
Gotta go - I have my annual physical today. Thought about striking up a conversation regarding my weight but ehh, we'll see. I feel like it's my own doing from not dealing with the hurt/loss of these past few months in a healthier way so what can anyone else do for me?
Really looking forward to a weekend OFF!

Happy Friday Christine and all to come...
Christine.....glad you took a break from contract reports this morning....with the April you have had you need it!! Sorry to hear about Aunt Marion....I'm so glad you got over to celebrate her birthday a few weeks ago.... Yes, it does NOT sounds like she "refused" dialysis, it sounds like weighing the options, she might not qualify due to other underlying conditions and at this point one treatment might make the other worse. Unfortunately at her age and what sounds like long-standing health issues her body is just deteriorating to the point you have to decide "quality vs quantity" and it sounds like she had a great life filled with love. Celebrate that....hugs to you and the family!
Not time to catch up now and will be at Kellen's baseball game tonight if he feels better....he's got that spring cold that had jumped on Jackson and Jason a few weeks ago....
No plans tomorrow so will catch up then!!
Have a great day all! We made it to Friday!

Good Morning Christine ☼ Thanks for starting us off this bright - sunny - TGIF! WOW Good for you, to have only 2 reports left to do!! Hmmm, I remember you getting Colby Girl, but didn't realize you weren't in "this" house at that time!! Sorry Gary is still struggling so. No, you can't make him get over it. {{{{hugs}}}}
Oh no... Poor Aunt Marion! She was doing so well, at her party... right? This came on rather quickly. Oh geeze... sorry Virginia tried to stir up trouble. Glad you reached out to your cousins for more information.
Same weather here, sunny, up to 50s, but this damned wind! Excuse me, the weather people call it a "breeze", they are delusional! LOL IT'S WINDY! UGH Sorry Carly wasn't any help in the basement... and Gary either... Yeah, those are the times it is easier and quicker to just do it ourselves... but it does suck, to not have the help!
Hope the physical goes well... hey if the Dr. doesn't mention weight - let it go... for now. You know what to do, and when your life slows down a bit, you'll get back into it. When you have time for the TM, you'll get yourself back on track. Hang in there hun... you cannot DO IT ALL, pick your battles (for now)!
Sue: Hope the day goes smoothly for you, and you get to the game tonight. Hope Kellen feels better in time to play!
Not sure what today will bring. Other than making cookies, cleaning out the fridge, and being ready for Tracy and the girls to arrive this evening. Tracy wants an overnight (here) with them. Probably make popcorn and watch a movie?
Tomorrow we get up to get to the Relay meeting at 10, then I will head to the calling hours/funeral. Tracy will get Eden home and keep Zoë until Ken gets out of work. It's LARP weekend, so Zoë will be here both nights.
OK Almost time for the 9AM call, so will head upstairs for that.
I hope you all have a good TGIF ♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Oh yes, Friday at last! Wow, am I glad that it is finally here. The best news that I have for this morning is that Meg's offer on a house was accepted last night---YAY! I really like the house--I run by it often on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is SUPER close to all the walking/running trails and she has neighbors nearby, not too big of a yard...I am SO happy for her! I will hear more of the details today. Work is work...today I have to have a hard conversation with one of the two directors about some paperwork she "threw" together that I ended up fixing because she dropped on my desk and left for a week long vacation. She is paid WELL and this is just shoddy work so it needs to be discussed. It is now only supposed to "maybe" rain in the middle of the day today with thunder/lightening so I am actually glad to have less chance of rain. I kind of drew a line this week. I met with the person taking over my position for another two hours on Wednesday and she asked if I could go through the entire review process of a plan with her. This is a job we have to review all 14 district plans and it involves, reviewing, meeting with our accountants, meeting with the superintendent to suggest revisions, then checking to be sure that the revisions are done. The plans are due by 6/30 from the districts and the whole process has to be done by 9/15 of each year. She wanted me to ask a Superintendent to get theirs done early, meet with them and do the whole thing by June 30th. I told her that I just couldn't stomach asking a Superintendent to do that and that I have work to get done by 6/30. I know she was disappointed...I told her we would do a review on a "nearly complete" plan and that I would show her how I would meet with the Superintendent. So now we are setting up a couple of hours to meet each week just to talk about things that I do. This is so much more than I EVER have received in support moving into a job. I think she is doubting her ability to do the work and I KNOW she can do it....she is smart and has a good head in terms of when to push things. Okay, enough of that...the court case is on 5/7 and I am keeping this health thing in the back of my head when I can.
Christine: Oh man, how frustrating to have Carly feeling "put out" helping you with the basement. I think that I would have lost it! It sounds like that all might be consuming time this weekend? Oh, I am sorry about your Aunt Marion but, as Sue said, happy that you were able to see her. And it is nice that her family is able to allow her to make her own decisions. I guess that I am not surprised that your DM didn't really share the "whole" story? It seems like it is always so "dramatic" from her without a lot of thought. Yay for testing going smoothly and reports getting done! We all know that the end of April can't come soon enough for you! I am sure that you already have plans for that money you will receive having completed the reports. Hoping that today is a good day and that you have a nice start to the weekend.
Carole: LOL, I feel the same way about the clean house...as soon as I am done, something will be dirty again! I think for me, the decluttering and reorganization is key. I actually would prefer that my mom stay in the place that we are visiting for the 5th time. It is closer to where she currently lives and the things that she likes to do. But the other place is more like "houses" --- it just feels kind of more formal to me. I don't know.... I know that she feels like she is going somewhere to die and I don't know how to offset that. It is like the next phase of her life...and, yes, probably her last move. But do you not move so that you don't have a "last move"? I think it will be so good for her to be around other people. I want them to be nice people...we will see. I have never heard of those plants that you and Sue talk about "Hostas"? I know, plants can be expensive...but it is so nice to have an outside area looking beautiful--actually, it feels rewarding! I don't recall which funeral you are attending today, but glad that you get some Tracy time and can bring something for the event. Have a good day!
Sue: Hoping that Kellen feels better soon. I haven't heard about a Spring cold yet, but lots of allergy issues around here. Sorry about the driveway delay, but it is all going to look so good! How is Rowan doing? Still okay? I forgot to mention how great it is that you have that day off to spend with Kellen/Jackson (trying to remember which) at his school! That is such a great way to spend the day! So worth a day off. I hope that you are feeling back into your routines--working, swimming, getting good sleep, etc.
Hello to all who follow. I need to get to the lab for this slew of new blood tests and then head into work. Have a good day!

Hi everyone! Just popping in quick to say HI and see how you are doing. It's been super busy at work. MY co-worker was on vacation for 3 days and I got slammed. It's all good. She and her family are going to Europe in June for 2 weeks! oh boy I'm not looking forward to that! But I will survive. I have been sick this week, not feeling good, not sleeping good. I'm better to day. Yesterday I went for a follow up to the Endocronologist. I drove there with out my wallet! it was laying on my desk. Had to get Steve to take apicture of my payment card and sewnd it to me. He is not electronically inclined so it took a minute. My estrogen is down some but I may have forgot a dose. Speaking of which I need to get my new patch on.
We got a call from Steve's Cardiologist this mornig. He had a sonagram of his heart and his ejection fraction ( the efficiency his heart pumps) is below normal and has gotten worse. So they are switching up his meds, taking him off one butting him on two. Geeze, its hard to keep up with.
Rosie will be 13 this year. She gave us a scare last night. It was like she was having a seizure but not convulsing. That's how Lucy's seizures were. It looked the same. The dogs were out barking at 10pm last night and she stayed in bed, she did not bark. Not like her at all! Poor thing. One more thing to worry about.
sorry no personals got to get back to work.

Christine, thanks for starting us. Yay for getting those reports done! Sorry for the frustrations in cleaning out the wet basement. Yes sometimes it's just easier to do it ourselves. So sorry about you Aunt that is so sad. Sorry Gary and Lindsey are having a hard time and missing Colby. I hope you warm up sooner rather then later. I'm glad you took a break when you needed it. I hope the Dr's appointment went well today.
Carole, sounds like a fun night in with the girls. Will you be at Kait's training tonight?
Karen, love the pictures of the wedding. Looks like everyone had a great time and everything went well.
Sue, I hope the game doesn't get rained out and you can go.
Jenny, wow I can't believe Audry is 21!! Time sure does fly.

Gabrielle, Yay to Meg's new house. I know that conversation had to be hard. You won't have to have them for very much longer.
