Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Heading to work soon. I still have a lot of invoices to post so I’ll be busy all day.
Love my haircut. It’s the shortest I’ve had it in quite a while. I’m sure it will be dry in minutes. I have to get some mousse so that I can lift it a bit.
Be back after work. See ya later

Joyce, that’s great that you like your haircut. I have my hair shorter than it has been for awhile and it does dry so much quicker but mousse is necessary with it being short. Hope work goes quickly for you.
Ruth, wow – lots to think about. I didn’t realize you were looking at an Irrevocable Trust. Why did the lawyers suggest that? We have several friends who have trusts, but they are not the irrevocable ones. They all indicated that it was a lot of work to get it set up and also quite costly. Hope it all works out okay. Probably a good idea to hold off on the shower upgrade for now till you get other things settled. Are Sawyer and Mara spending the weekend or just Saturday?
Second load of laundry is in the dryer. It is a beautiful day and I plan on sitting out on the deck this afternoon. I took a walk yesterday and my feet became numb, making it feel like I could fall. Fortunately I was able to get back home but ordered a cane as soon as I got home. I have a cane but wanted a collapsible one that I can just have with me and open it if necessary. Yesterday I added more things to the donation bag, now I just need to get it to the donation center, that is a must for next week.

It was rainy and cloudy this morning but now we have sunshine and the temperature is in the mid 60s, supposed to go up to the low 70s. Since we have had so much cool, damp weather it is nice to see the sunshine and have warmer temps.
I decided today to clean the coffee pot with vinegar, I’m not a coffee drinker but Bill sometimes makes 2 pots a day. I couldn’t believe how dark the vinegar water was after the first time. I just started the second time, it will be interesting to see how much more dirt/old coffee comes out.
I did also go up in the storage closet again today, several more items were put in the donation bag. Now if I just get that out of the house at some point.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Good afternoon! (((Hugs))) It's liquid sunshine for me. Good thing I'm staying home! It appears that it will be sticking around for a couple days. Groc bought & put away. Will cut f/v for dh lunch snacks. Cleaned out deep freeze & reorganized it. Still have some older stuff to use up but list has shrunk. Wills/Trust - Parents had a trust. Mom wasn't happy with how it ended up. We each have a will. We do have life ins. Planmed on cremation & buried at family historical cemetery. Got an email asking us to update beneficiary. Sleepiness - I'm planning on talking to Dr about my sleepiness. I do know that my meds cause issues with sleep & eating. Will re-read rx summary to see what else might be causing issues. I still have my happy lamp out and do use it mostly m-f. Wkend too hectic. Meals for the week: pizza balls, tamale casserole, chx carnitas, fish tacos, chx patty sandwich w/tomato soup, lasagna and bfast in the evening -o'brien potatoes with onion/peppers, eggs, bacon & fruit. I still need to make some cookies for dh lunch but almost done with rest of prep/cook for him. Just in time to make dinner. 🥴 Hope all have good day! (((Hugs)))

Good evening all. Sorry I haven’t been here this weekend. It’s just been kind of hectic! We picked up Sawyer and then Mara yesterday morning and had them until after lunch today. Took Mara home and then Sawyer. I did Mara’s laundry yesterday; doing some of DS’s and DIL’s today. We traded in the rain. The girls had a pretty good time I think. They both want to do it again. We’ll figure out a good time to do it. Or if DD needs us to watch Sawyer we’ll try to get Mara.
Weather has been icky. Rainy and grey and windy. Driving across the twin cities today from Mpls where we left Mara to St. Paul where we left Sawyer was like being inside a cloud. Grey & awful!
Dottie, they suggest an irrevocable trust / Medicaid Protection Trust, so that you can protect your assets should you need nursing home care or a home health aide. Medicaid can pay for those if you have your assets in the right kind of trust. You protect them so that the one in the nursing home doesn’t use up all of your assets and leave the surviving spouse destitute. And yes, it’s VERY expensive to get the trust, new wills, POA’s, and health directives made up. 19 pages of information you fill out for them; along with about that many copies of things you need to provide them with. It’s crazy! This meeting about the trust was over 3 hrs. And we still have meetings about the wills, POA’s, health care and all. It’s almost more than we bargained for. We also found out that the POA’s we had made up previously are only good if you are still living. Once you pass, they are null and void. We will have different kinds of those now. Everyone in this firm specializes in a different part of all of this so that they are up to date on everything.
Joy, my hair is shorter now too than usual. It has been shorter than this, but not in a very long time. Sounds like we are all wearing our hair shorter than usual.
Martha, I’d sure check with my doctor about how tired you are. Have you had thyroid testing done? Joy & I (maybe Dottie?) all take thyroid meds.
Waving to Bonnie. Hope you have had a good weekend. The time goes by so quickly, doesn’t it?
Dottie, I need to get busy on the getting rid of stuff because our realtor wants to come over and help us decide on what we absolutely need to do before we consider selling. And I’d like to have a lot of the stuff in the basement gone before he comes over. And work in the extra bedrooms.
Tomorrow I have a massage scheduled for right after Stan’s Pedal class. She asked if I could move it up a half hour and I said I would. Stan said he can help by coming home to take his shower instead of doing it there. Then I can have the car to get there.
Have a good Monday all. Will try to check in during the evening.
