No connection to this site when I came to check in yesterday and got busy later. Hope to talk to our son and his family this evening and talked to our daughter yesterday. Greek Orthodox Palm Sunday service is being broadcast through the village this morning. I have lunch to prepare - green fava beans from their pods - and need to get moving. Also have a book to read and review before it disappears later today - not sure it will be read word for word but will read enough, I hope, to post a review.
More later...hopefully.

Good morning all. Surprisingly few aches and pains after the digging I did in the yard. The peppermint bed is done and most of the flower bed beside the door is done. The landscaper will have to do the rest. Too heavy for me. And I will probably finish up the herb garden today. Will go visit Marge and Amby at some point and do some prep food for the week. Lily and I got in a 2.55 mile walk this morning! I do need to vacuum up the dirt that I tracked in from the gardens.
S - Usual coffee B - Cucumber on a 3 pt. Italian roll with oil and vinegar L - Tuna salad stuffed tomato w/fig & olive crisps D - Chicken florentine with added garlic spinach, nibbles potatoes E - Walking and stretching
Cathy - I need to revisit fava beans. I was never a fan but my taste buds have changed over the years. Happy reading. June - Had to reread the rock show twice to realize it wasn't a concert. LOL. Hope you accomplish what you hope to today. Waving to LaDonna, MJ, Bee and Ann

Good morning, Lucy made the move to Laken's on Friday. She seems very happy until she has to go in her kennel while Laken is away. She's trying to dig her way out but Randy is going to go down this mrning and put some precautions in place so she won't be able to. Yesterday I spent the day doing a little shopping I got some clearance items for myself a few new clothing items for work etc and I bought Renee some cute little outfits. I hope to see her today to give them to her. Got a grocery order to pick up shortly - grilled pchops later, cabbage and another side tbd
June, Thank goodness the tire did not cause any more trouble for you and was an easy fix! Your menu sounds delicious and healthy. Enjoy the rock show and the memories if you go.
Susi, Stephen was your brother, right? I've also been feeling a little caught up in memories this weekend. I dreamed about my cousin I was so close to that was killed when we were both 25 and her mother mother, Aunt Pat that died last year...dreams can be so real. Sending hugs to you as you remember. Good to hear pain is minimal.
Cathy, Your meals alwsay sound so flavorful. I hope you get to communicate with dear family.
MJ, Hope your Sunday is peaceful.
Bee, glad all is well.
Ann, hope you are well.

Susi- very happy that you were able to complete the yard work as ypu planned. Even happier that you are not suffering today. Has to feel great to have accomplished your objective! yep,the landscaper can do the heavier work. lol. . . I edited my postβ adding gem to the first sentence. This chick was never one for rock n roll shows. I only attended 2 in my whole life. And I am good with that. Will do Marge & Amby good to see you.
LaDonna- great to find those clothing buys. Of course that sweet lil Renee needed something cute, too. Ahhh. . . I wondered how Lucy would adjust. Makes sense that she has to get use to a routine when Laken is away. Good idea to make sure that she cannot tunnel out or get hurt. She will likely get use to her new normal in time. I am a very lucid dreamer. I always figure that those type of dreams are visits. I call those β sweet dreams.β I am sure that I dream of Joan every night because any time I am awakened suddenly, I catch a bit of a dream with us together.

Good just-barely-morning, all!
Prayers still going up for those in the path of storms... many, MANY prayers... there are many, MANY storms... and fires, too, that never seem to go away...
Prayers for all our loved ones who are in particular need...

I went to bed early last night (well, I claimed I would watch Poirot with my feet up, but...). When I woke up all bright-eyed at 4-something, I moved to the recliner until 10 AM. I woke up at 9 and since I was pinned down by a Pippin Toots brought me coffee and I stayed put for that extra hour. Now I've made a frittata out of leftovers for brunch.
Yesterday was a really good day but I'm definitely achy this morning. The YMs worked hard, scraping and then painting a deck and gazebo (NOTE: they wore goggles and masks and gloves <oh, MY!>). They finished their work day around 3:30 PM. It was a VERY long day for this age group and they did a great job (I've got pictures to prove it!). There was also an adult crew working on a bathroom while the YMs did the backyard work (the men did put out the pallet of 50# bags of mulch in the front yard, T-G!). The homeowner is a retired Navy nurse with a wide range of service members in her family.
Of COURSE I ended up working - sweeping first, and then painting the gazebo spindles. Lunch was from noon-ish to 12:45 and the Mayor and his film crew came in just after they'd finished. I left when HE left (a bit after 1 PM) to take the Kressling to Ft. Dix; it was a quick round trip but worth every minute. We were back in town before 4:30 and we took the Kressling home at 5:30.
Today? NASCAR Cup series (Dover DE) runs at 2 PM. I totally missed yesterday's Xfinity race so I'll try to hunt down a replay; Toots told me that the ending was interesting. I've got one load of laundry in the dryer, another in the washer, and will follow up with more M65s (no, we're not done yet - and there are still some outstanding). The Kressling unloaded GracieTOO last night so my front room needs work, and one of our YM/AVs is bringing the goggles they used yesterday to be washed and returned to the warehouse. (other PPE - gloves, masks - were to be discarded). That sounds like about enuf.
Yesterday we ended up with Italian take-away for dinner. Today? Not sure.
Coffee... βββ... savoring this mug...
π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π± Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±

LaDonna - Nice to have a few new things and of course you can't resist buying for Renee. I hope that Lucy gets used to the kennel as Laken's quickly. How good of Randy to try to make sure it's safe. Yes, Stephen was my brother. We're "Irish twins" (10 months apart). He moved out to Colorado when in his 20s and never looked back although we stayed in touch. June - Thanks for clarifying. LOL. I would imagine you are a very vivid dreamer. MJ - I'm sure the homeowner appreciated everything that was done. Enjoy the NASCAR I had a package of chicken breasts that I trimmed up and cut into cutlets. Made 3 pieces of chicken florentine, 3 pieces of chicken marsala (one each for Carol), 2 plain pieces for sandwiches/salads, 4 piece frittata with onions/spinach/cheese, used lo carmelized onions to make onion soup (1 cup for Carol), so I will just need to supplement with lunch and veggies.

Mj- you have to be very proud of your Saturday work crew. They really accomplished a great deal! How nice of the Mayor to recognize the community service and the deserving veteran. Warms my heart to hear how giving the YMs are. - That is an amazing gift to give yourselfβ a proper βlay inβ or is it βlie inβ as the British say? -Hope the races were exciting!
Susi- giving you a hearty cheer for your kitchen preps that will feed you and Carol. Am very confident that she appreciates the extra goodies. I know that R & I appreciate receiving the extras from Karen & Ross. K doesnβt want the extra food to go waste. So it is a win-win. -R always says that I am a very unusual dreamer &;sleeper. If ever asked, I would volunteer for a sleep study. I often say if I could bottle & sell my ability to fall asleep, no one I cared about would need to work again.
