Morning all...slept great last night...started to fade about 9:15 so into bed I went....slept until almost 7:30 only getting up once. That rarely happens these day!! Grabbed my coffee, checked the outside temps and as they forecasted it was 55 degrees....clouds of yesterday are still hanging on but should burn off between 9:00-10:00am to make for a beautiful spring day topping out at 82° as promised!! Time to open every window in the house and let in the spring air and blow the stale winter air out of every nook and cranny of the house. I'm hoping Jason will grill tonight....the only thing I know we will have is the first asparagus of the garden. Our original patch is dying a slow death so Jason planted some new plants a couple years ago and they are finally starting to produce. Will be another year or two before we have a bumper crop but I will enjoy every meal we get this season!!
So...."Satisfaction Sunday"....what will you do today that at the end of the night you will put your feet up, think about the day and smile with satisfaction that you made it the best day you could?? Wil it be getting outside and working in the yard, getting things ready for the warmer months ahead?? Will it be like me putting together something you bought for that year and making a new place to gather and enjoy friends and family. Will it be prepping lots of fruits, veggie and healthy options for your week ahead??? Will it be cleaning out that last drawer or closet in a room to finally cross that room off your "declutter list"? Will it be tacking a bit of work work so your week ahead runs more smoothly and you don't feel overwhelmed first thing on a Monday morning? Or will it just be to sit back, relax, enjoy the day with a book or movie to just give your mind and body a chance to rejuvenate and refresh!
No answer is the right one....the right one is what makes you smile with satisfaction at the end of the day....my day will likely be filled with a little bit of all of the options above! Once Jason is up, I will strip the bed and get that load in the washer...opted not to do it yesterday but it WILL be done today. I remember waking up off and on sweating so time to swap out the flannels!! The patio table will be set up and ready to go so maybe we will enjoy our first dinner on it tonight! Might even start to tackle some of the clutter on the screen in porch to get that ready for furniture....I'm hoping Kellen might lend a hand to get that room ready to enjoy as the nice days are coming!!
Hope everyone has a great Sunday no matter what your day holds!! Will pop back later probably to see what everyone has been up to!! ♥♥

Good morning!
It is clear this morning but cold---mid-40s. It should warm up to the mid-60s so that is good! DH is planning to do his run today--his back has been a bit sore from overuse. I am not able to join him because I am picking up my DM to tour the other adult living place and have "brunch" today. It is so nice to not have rain today though! Last night's dinner for DS30's bday was great. We finally got to meet DS24's GF--her name is Kristyn and she is so nice--so smart---I really like her. DS24 seems so comfortable with her too. I really hope that this is a relationship that sticks....he is obviously very happy. I am so glad that we took the time to get together.
Sue: Wow, your weather sounds great! Oh, that is a bummer about the equipment failure, etc. but your contractor sounds like a great, honest person and he is doing it right. How nice it will be to have it done. I look forward to seeing your pictures of the patio when you have it all done--it will be great for Mother's Day! It is also good that Jason found relief in knowing that you didn't go for the propane option. A pellet feeder option? That sounds like a good option to have (just in case). The wood burning though might be just fine for you. Wow, what a great game for Kellen! So glad that you were there to see it. Oh, I am sorry to hear about Rose's setback. While it is great that they are catching it early, it is so frustrating how resistant infections can be to antibiotics...how they evolve over time. I hope that it isn't too invasive and that it resolves this time. Yes, I think that DM will be fine once she makes this move, and last night she openly talked about it (as a matter of a fact, I think that no one else really got to talk that much when we sat down to eat because she wanted to talk about it). I hope that the visit this weekend and next weekend go well. I am glad that she can still drive...I think that this is affecting this move as she still has that level of independence. We will see! I hope that you have a good day, open those windows, change the sheets, and feel Spring!

Carole: I am so MAD at myself...I hit the "back" arrow and lost the post I had for you! Ughh. I was saying that I was SO glad that you had the family movie night with the girls! For Zoe to see film of Matt and not only still photos is a game changer---so sweet! Your friend, Darlene, sounds like one of those very reliable people --- always travelling the distance. It is nice that you can be there for her now. While I guess that you'll have to see Ken's sister at some point, I hope that it wasn't yesterday as I could tell you were nervous. How fun for the girls to play pickle ball! I hope that they take it up. Last week, when I met the friends after work, a couple of them were talking about their bowling leagues (they are in two different leagues). Neither one of them is a super bowler and they do it for fun. Well, they said that every league has the "super serious" person or two who frown upon anything not following the "rules". It takes the fun out of it! I am glad that Ken has a friendly crew (but I am not surprised . Oh, I really kind of like working in the yard. I like seeing how it looks better. Pretty soon, I will be sprucing up the garden boxes...it is still too cold at night. But I will love seeing them once they are clean and planted (in May--usually around Mother's Day). I hope that you have a good day today!
Jo: Thanks again for starting us yesterday! My bloodwork (for my thyroid cancer surveillance) showed that I was slightly anemic and my endocrinologist really aggressively is looking into it --- and it makes me very nervous. We will see. Yes, this weather is a bit cooler than normal for us and us Californians are getting tired of wintery temps! LOL, we'll get over it.
Jenny: Well, I hope that the last 10:30 am meeting went well. And who knows? Maybe the early meeting will start some new habits where you will go to the meeting and then for walk or grocery shopping...some kind of new Saturday routine? Audrey's bday celebration looked like fun! Count me in as being surprised that she is already 21! Wow to your sister going back a couple of days a week. I can't do that for 6 months or it affects my retirement....
Christine: I can imagine that you are feeling that void with Colby being gone....and with your loss of Mark too....you are right, it isn't just April, 2024 has been rough BUT, you have a shower and wedding coming up---2024 will improve!! It must! I hope that you set the chairs up on the porch to have a comfy area outside. I am with you...I finally put the cushions on the patio furniture out yesterday hoping that we have had the last of the rain...it isn't worth it to put them out before. Hope that you have a good day today.
Hello to all who follow. Satisfaction Sunday---well, having had the meal last night with us all together and then spending time with my DM today to (hopefully) make her future living better---I think that both will leave me feeling satisfied. I hope that you all have a satisfying day!

Sue: Hope the weather turned nice for you yesterday - here it was a beautiful day! My drive was perfect with the sunroof open and the sun shining in! YAY to getting started building all your furniture. Will be so nice when it's done. I HOPE to get my power washing done this week! The patio and furniture need to be done, and ready to use on Sunday. Tim & Tracy are coming up to get the pool pump & filter back together, and ready to run. So I imagine I'll just have everyone up, and we can get the cover off as well! Hopefully our weather will improve over what's forecasted! LOL Glad you and Jason agree on the wood fire pit! We still have one, but rarely use it. Tracy shouldn't be around the smokiness and I can't stand embers flying, and smoke... but since we don't use it very often, it's hard to justify a new one, just to get the propane. We'll see what this summer brings.
Sorry the driveway has been a hassle... yes patience is difficult, but knowing it's done right, does take time. Good game and huge WIN for Kellen & the Bulldogs. Glad you could go.
Jenny: Good luck with the new doctor... and a weight loss plan. WOO HOO to celebrating Audrey ♥ Glad you can do a night out for family and friends. Saw the clip on FB... looks like fun! Oh enjoy the proud moments of her Senior year... and at the top of her class. WTG Mom & Dad.
BTW I am formulating a road map for travel in September, so let me know if your travel days change. I want to make reservation in Hyannis for your first 2 nights, with a ferry to Nantucket on Sunday. then Monday we can head to Boston, Tuesday Salem, and Wednesday Maine/NH coast. If you are flying out early Saturday morning, we should be back in CT for Friday night? So you can shuttle to the airport? Am I missing anything you wanted to see/do??
Unfortunately, Zoë had some "nightmares" Friday night. She calls them nightmares, but she never woke anyone up... but... (of course) my sisters think they were spurred by seeing the old videos of her Dad! I'm like, WTH?? There was nothing about killing in the videos - but that's what her dreams were. She dreamt that she killed Gramma Kathy! OMG! I honestly don't think a home video could have brought THAT on!
I think, it's from all those damned YouTube things that her mother lets her watch/play on her tablet and he VR thing! Yes, she was on her tablet while watching the home videos. JMHO Not feeling the guilt over this!!
Sue: Oh I hope Rose is doing better, and will not have a long hospital stay this time. Hopefully the weather on MD weekend is good, we will be in NYC on that Saturday. Fingers crossed for no rain. THAT would make for a very long day in the city! I think once all is said and done, Jason will be fine - and especially this season! He loves to be out in the gardens, so as he comes home to new things - ready to enjoy the space... he'll be fine. Since the spending is about done - he can get back to being less bothered! Oh geeze... glad Jim is able to rent a roller and get the driveway done. Losing 3 tons of blacktop can't be cheap! OYE VEY! Glad he'll clean up the mess as well. Any GOOD contractor would, so glad he's one of the good ones. I guess - given all that has gone on during the whole financing and reno project... we wouldn't expect the final piece to go without a hitch!
Yikes... hopefully your work internet and all will be working fine for the last couple days of April. I think we are ALL ready for May to just GET HERE. Although, I may have Jury Duty on 5/1. YUCK. But I postponed from earlier, because I didn't want to mess up a doctor's appointment, so I'll deal with what comes along. I'll call Tuesday to see if I have to report. Ewww, your weather looks worse than ours - please do not send that my way!!
Christine: YAY for a SIMPLE Saturday for you!! Hey you deserve a day of rest for a change!! Yes, nice to stay in touch with your DB, glad you can keep him up to date on Aunt MArion. God knows Virginia won't! Will you have a chance to see your cousin from WA while she's there?
{{{{hugs}}}} I can't imagine grieving a pet so soon after a DB ♥ Along with everything else going on for you right now. Not trying to wish my life away - but yes C'MON 2024... MAY... IT WILL GET BETTER!
Oh yes, porch rockers on a warmer rainy day will be good. I have the front porch ready but being on the west end of the house, it rarely gets nice and warm out there! LOL
Sue: LOL I do get my nails dirty... once I get going I'm OK, but it will never be "fun" for me! Oh yeah our Hostas used to just be there... we had them dug up when we did the yardwork, so we randomly have a few rogue plants now! LOL The one I was talking about just sat... not planted... root ball only... on the brick pavers... all last summer... and yes, even through the winter. I admit to being surprised when I saw it so nice and green these days! The roots were bare to the elements for4 years now! The farm & garden store hasn't got the new hosta plants in yet, but I will get more when they do!
Thank you! LOL I asked last week what is GSL! I even googled it but never found an answer! LOL I can't wait to see your firepit and table all set up.
Thanks for starting us today. I had a sleepy girl that I was trying to get moving! LOL She wanted to go to Bob's nephew's BD party, so she HAD to get moving!! She is so not a morning person! Anyway, got her up and made her pancakes, then got her dressed and out the door. Ken drove her to Greenfield to meet Tracy, who took her to the party. I know she will have a great time with the kids - at a playground - pizza, etc. It will be good for her to be outside - playing for the best part of the day.
Yes, I am hoping to get some windows opened here as well. Then get some power washing done. I want to finish the ramp at least today! Gotta watch/remember which windows are open, as I make my way around the house! LOL Ahhh asparagus... we just had some delicious fresh stuff last week. NOT as fresh as yours, but still, first of the season from somewhere! LOL Yummy and cheap!
I swapped out my flannels last week. Now I need my heavier blanket some nights, but at least not sweating any longer! Enjoy your day!
My SATISFACTION will be the power washing, and draining/filling the tub! Might not be able to use it today/tonight, but we'll see how fast we can get it warmed up!
Gabrielle: We are expecting 77 today!! Sorry you aren't. Tomorrow should be a nice 75 as well. Then while the temps may be warm, with the rains coming, it may not be a very nice week! YAY for meeting DS24's GF, and that she is nice/smart, and you like her!! Oh good luck with brunch today. Fingers crossed it goes well. But this is the place YOU would have as 2nd choice right? Further away from you and DM's "life"!
Yes, since Darlene never had children, she was able to come up here, more than we got down there. Then as her DH was "failing", they still made the drive - but he rarely got out of the car. He was fine with it. He & the dog stayed in the car, Darlene would get out, and visit, eat, buy baked goods, whatever. Then I'd go to the car to visit with Bob for a bit. I honestly didn't know him well, but he was wonderful to and for Darlene. I was VEY nervous about going - but so glad I did. Stephanie didn't show up, then I realized, today is the Celebration of Life for her fiancée, so she must have had a lot to do. That and she's not the "friend" we thought she was?
Oh I hope the home videos were OK for Zoë. Like I said I do not believe they are the reason for her dreams, but will never convince my sisters of that!
Yes, to early to plant here as well. We still had frost yesterday when I got up! UGH! My plants should be in the Friday of MD weekend, so I'll go pick them up. By then the garden shop might have their new perennials in, so maybe MD or that week, I will get my planting done.
I do hope your day is very satisfying. I know until next week, when you visit the 2nd place, a decision won't be made. Hoping after next weeks visit, things start to move along for DM and you ♥
OK Time to get dressed! and moving along with the day.
♥hugs♥

Well Audrey had a great time with her friends last night. She didn’t drink at all cause she was driving. The band was really loud though and kind of a grunge rock and my dad was going insane, LOL, he’s a blue grass/old country music type of person so he was not enjoying it at all. The food was good. I had crab legs with some potato’s and sausage but I was so full from the beer I drank that I brought mine home to crack and enjoy for later. Beer always does that to me, I feel so bloated.
Carole I think I’m going to leave on Sept 9th and come home o. The 17th so we can just enjoy the sights if that helps any. The plan you have so far is great, I’m enjoying all the places to see.
I don’t think home movies made Zoe dream what she did, I dream weird dreams as well and most of them don’t make any since either, I think some people just dream weird.
Gabrielle yes it was the last meeting and we all decided to go to the 9:00am meeting from now on and it will be ok. The prior meetings left us a nice welcoming message on the board saying welcome to the earlier meetings. I think they are slowly getting rid of the meetings and soon they will just be about the WW clinic not food and diet and exercise. JMHO.
Ok gotta run enjoy your Sunday
