Hey all,
Pam, good to read your note. Before I forget, we loved The Holdovers. Filmed at some of our Massachusetts boarding schools so it hit home even more. What movie did you see the other day? Your meal out sounded very good, too. Glad you had fun and it sounded scrumptious!
I just came back from my first appearance at TOPS in about a month. I have missed the crew. They are so great and so supportive. I am lucky I found them. I've become good buddies with one in particular and she and I hung around and chatted quite a bit after the meeting. We are going together to the state recognition convention at the end of May where they celebrate and recognize the big successes in members. Should be fun as it is at a nice resort and an overnight.
DH has gone to his doctor today. I am worried because he is still under the weather a bit. Much better but still no voice and a cough. He may need another round of meds.
It is not warm here today - chilly and now cloudy. Wish it would warm up! It is the one year anniversary of our dear dog Doug's passing. I miss him so much and the little guy had not idea how much he meant to us all.
Have a great day and I'll check in later.

Meant to add that I love Barnes and Noble, too. I try to get nearly all my books from the library, but once in a while I love having a brand new book - love the smell of it - ha ha - and being the first to read it. I usually pass them along right away - I don't want to collect them. I know a lot of folks like keeping them all. But, my main source is my Kindle - Overdrive or Libby and then library books.

TGIF, WW Friends ~
I am enjoying my day off today. I am still on the mend from my Flu episode and though I am feeling better, I am weak and moving a bit slower. I am sleeping well, which is a blessing, though. My appetite has returned, though I have dropped about 5 pounds (purely intentional).
Our neighbor is away on vacation and I have been collecting his mail and watching his place, and DH has been parking in his driveway the month or so that he has been gone. Of course, DH was in the hospital most of that time, so it was good to have somewhere handy to park the truck. Our parking situation here is limited, with one car garage and one parking spot outside the garage. Anyway, he wrote me a note that he would be returning sometime this weekend, so we will put all his "stuff", keys etc., in his kitchen this afternoon and lock up the house.
Meanwhile, I have started doing some laundry and sorting through two weeks of "junk" mail. I also had to get out the booklet for my iHome clock in my den. I count on that clock and it has been wrong for most of the month, since we had an extended power outage. Unfortunately it has been so long since I last reset it that I have totally forgotten how. Glad I saved the book, and followed the instructions and got it set properly. Funny how those little things can flabbergast me sometimes.
Judy, good day to "celebrate" Doug. Those memories will last a lifetime! Savor them ....
BBL. Make a great day!

Good Morning, and Happy Sunday, WW Friends ~
We have had a productive and relaxing weekend. I did laundry and put things away and did paperwork and bill paying, etc. Good to see the results of my efforts.
We grilled pork chops yesterday and paired them with a sweet potato and some baby green peas. A true comfort food meal for us!
We watched the Kentucky Derby yesterday along with the pregame shows and enjoyed all of it very much. My DH is getting his energy back and has been doing some simple chores indoors and outdoors. Slowly but surely we'll get caught up.
Wishing you all a beautiful Sunday!!
BBL. Make a great day!

Sue, it is wonderful to hear that you and your DH are doing better. Energy takes some time to come back. We had comfort food similar to yours tonight - sweet potato and chicken with broccoli. Last night we grilled a steak and had salad and a baked potato. We do love our spuds!
It was chilly here today and now is raining. I went to church this morning - I am liking the fellowship and congregation at my mom's former church. Her memorial service was there and I always think of her when I'm there. The pastor is so welcoming - she noticed my absence with my illness since it's a small congregation. So glad I went but I didn't stay for the coffee hour. Came home and read my book, did some chores like restocking my pill containers and laundry - lol - and relaxed mostly. I did my own nails. I have been giving myself manicures and going into the nail salon for pedicures. So far, so good.
We also watched the Kentucky Derby. My parents were big fans and went to Kentucky for Keeneland and the Derby when we lived in Ohio so I grew up hearing about it. They also went to Derby Day parties. :-) I had several small bets placed for fun but did not win this year.
We are both finally better. My ankle is still touchy but I am babying it. I want to have a good summer. We are expecting a lot of company. DH did a lot of weeding in his flower garden this weekend. His Irises are starting to come up and we have loads of tulips--he had to fence some in to keep the bunnies away! I have a nice bouquet that he picked for me on the dining room table.
Pam, I hope you had a good weekend and that all is well at your house. I am sure you are as busy as ever.
Take care and enjoy the rest of the day. I finished my ukulele singalong tonight and now will watch a bit of TV with DH.
