FINALLY made it to FRIDAY YAY!! Yesterday was another rough one - eck - don't want to repeat it anytime soon - it didn't matter how well planned it was when others don't do their part it just doesn't go well...the day of testing at school went sideways when the newer Asst. Principal bailed on us and announced he was 'done' and needed to return to his his 'regular duties'. Ummm, I'm sorry. WHAT? The Curriculum Director and I had no idea he did that until I was leaving the building for my dentist appt and couldn't find him at his post (he was supposed to be supervising an entire floor of 4th grade test takers). When I text him that we needed him to distribute the test tickets for the 8th grade State test he replied he was doing a teacher's observation and would have to reschedule the observation. I simply replied, "Yes please". I don't think he understood that the State test took priority straight through. Ya don't bail because you got bored of supervising it.
Later I discovered he bent the rules all sorts of ways to appear to be the 'cool guy' with the 8th graders - passed out computers to students who were not to have them, provided accommodations to others, allowed students to sit where they wanted with whoever they wanted meaning we could not find which assigned room they were actually in later - just irritating. Took some time later to track down laptops (had to be sure they were not taken home or 'lost') and figure out who still needed to finish their State test as they snapped shut their laptop early while goofing around with friends they weren't supposed to be sitting with! grrrr....just irritating. Thankfully some teachers helped as they KNEW I was going to be upset seeing how out of the ordinary that test session went! Smiling, just smiling..I will try to explain to the Asst Principal kindly today the importance of keeping to the schedule and procedure. Just ONE more day. Hey, NONE of us can do our regular duties until we see this through!
Sue - I'm so glad you got your Patio furniture all set up! It will be so nice to be able to use it (after the rain) - I saw pictures you posted of the family but I can't for the life of me remember who the little girl is you are referring to -is it your cousin's grand? or a member of your community? You referred to 'we' so I'm going with the thought it's a family member. Either way sounds like better news if there's to be options there. I sure wish I was at a beach right now too! Hope your Friday goes well - we were supposed to get close to 80s today but now it's only 75 and cloudy. Spattering of rain but we might still be able to sit outside for a Happiest Hour after work - Carly and Ben will be home. Tomorrow they will be picking out tuxes for the guys. Then the guys in the Wedding party will just need to stop by the shop to get measured. Still trying to pin down a Cake lady! The one lady highly recommended by one of Carly's bridesmaids was actually mean on the phone! Very condescending and well, not very nice at all. I told Carly forget her! She does NOT need her business. There are plenty of others who would love to give Carly the chance to start up their business with her wedding. On to the next name on her list.
Carole - well, with all my TM time I have not shed a single pound. UP and down a few ounces but that's about it lol. I'll keep going strong as I know it's more about the heart health at this point. I hope you feel better about your Plan and organized with your goals. Yes, keep looking at them and baby steps towards them. What ramp? I am not able to hang a decorative wreath on our front door for the same reason - birds keep trying to build a nest in whatever I hang on the door - so irritating! Or they try to build a nest behind our front porch light, so we have to keep an eye for the start of one to prevent it from getting too far along. Pesky trespassers! lol Maybe you can still power wash even if it is cloudy out? I totally agree with you, sitting around upset about Zoe is NOT helping her or YOU. Heck, I get creeped out seeing just the ads for some of these virtual games! Let alone play them! I'm sorry Patti thinks they are okay for Zoe to see and play. Part of me thinks Patti is just so caught up in her own world she just is not aware of what's happening and is fine just letting others deal with it all. Numb to it. I know, we can't fix that too. But you CAN show Zoe the other side of things
Gabrielle - I really hope your Sacramento meetings wrapped up quicker than you thought. Yes, checked those off your list. What day are you taking your DM to revisit that other place? Is it tomorrow? I need to get up to see Virginia. Maybe tomorrow. This coming Tuesday is her heart procedure and I suspect she's getting herself worked up into a tizzy. She will be admitted (after all) but I just don't quite have all the information. Nor believe what she says. So I need to just go sit with her and 'be' with her. Maybe I can help set up her outdoor patio furniture if it's not raining.
Waves to our Jenny, Jo and Karen! Gotta get this day moving!!

Happy Friday to all!!
Thanks for starting us off Christine....I saw you asked about "family" in the picture....Irelyn is part of our "Y family"....she is Vonnie's granddaughter....Vonnie and Joe are one of the couples that get together all the time and go to Dutch Apple with us. I have known Em since she was 18 months old and she went to daycare with Sarah. She and Hannah competed in gymnastics at he same level for years!! Vonnie and I have known each other since long before we all ended in the gymnastics department, first as parents, then as co-workers and longtime friends!! Em, Sarah and Hannah were all pregnant at the same time....Jackson, Irelyn and Rowan are all within months of each other!!
Have my chair, sweatshirt and blanket ready and in the car for tonight....should be pretty nice until the end of the game but just in case it gets cold!!
Have a fantastic Friday all....will likely be back tomorrow!!! Fingers crossed game doesn't go too late but then it's a 20-25 minute drive home from the field!!

Good morning,
Happy to be here---I missed posting yesterday because the site was wonky---no matter how I tried to log in. Then, with the full day meeting in Sacramento, it just didn't happen. Yay, finally Friday! It is nice this morning--mid 50s-- and the weather has been great. But tomorrow we are back in the rain and expected to get 1.5 inches so that won't be fun . I am taking DM to see the other community though (visit #5). And we get to stay for lunch---it really is important for her to taste the food and experience the dining room since that is part of what you pay for. They have one unit available (1 BR plus a den) that is the really plan that she had hoped for...there are only 4 of them so to have one available is a big deal. I actually think we might put down a deposit tomorrow if she is ready to move on it (and I think she is close). She has a couple coming to look at her house on Sunday too....a woman who she met in Kiwanis who is looking to move closer to town. Wouldn't that be something if this all worked out? Wow, it would really be amazing. On a very sad note, yesterday we received news that a friend of DH's from high school passed away...he and DH had just talked on the phone about a week ago. He and his wife were at a friend's house and he had a cardiac event -- it turned out to be something with his aorta (a separation or something)--was rushed into surgery at Stanford and didn't make. We are talking about a 64 year old cyclist who was nationally ranked for cycling. Super fit.... this is person #3 for the year -- all men who are not that old and having cardiac events. I can tell that DH is really struggling with this. When I got the message, I had to call him and felt bad that I wasn't with him (I was driving to my meeting in Sacramento). Today we find out if the court case is going to happen next week--they already moved it from Tuesday 5/6 to Wednesday 5/8. I am really trying to not let all of these things stress me out ladies, but it feels like a lot. Enough about me.
Christine: What planet has this AP been living on that he would not understand the importance of testing protocols? What a dingbat! We have actually been audited before for some of those things! You are a very patient person---and I am glad that some of the teachers stepped in realizing that he was just not doing what he should do. So frustrating! Oh, I am sorry that the cake issues continue! Yep, you are right...the grouchy lady obviously didn't want the business...who needs that negativity? I hope that Carly can find someone soon. Are the groomsmen going to wear black tuxes? It is really a reminder of how close we are to the date!! LOL about Gary and his shoe collection....too funny (but frustrating, I am sure). Well, I am sorry that the scale isn't budging too much, but I do think that the effects on your metabolism and other health things will ultimately pay off...really! Hang in there...oh yes, your mom's procedure--it will be good to just be there and get the real story. I hope that you have some down time this weekend!
Sue: Your outdoor area looks great! Wow! I love that boys helped too. And I am so happy to read of the additional info about Irelyn's tumor....hoping for a good treatment plan that provides the family with the hope that they have been needing to hear. Such a relief. I hope that today goes well for you at work. Glad that you are prepared for ALL temps for this evenings game--last time sounded miserable!
Carole: I hope that you have a good day ahead---I really do love that Ken is enjoying pickle ball so much. It sounds like fun! I hope that you can keep those pesky birds away and get things set up as you want outside.
Okay, gotta get moving--one more day in Sacramento and then rushing up for a few Zooms and a 4:00 meeting (on a Friday, GRRR). I will be glad when today is wrapped up. Have a good one!

Sue: Patio looks great! UGH, sorry you lost a post - hate when that happens. Hope you had a good nights sleep, and the day goes smoothly for you. Enjoy the game!
Christine: Oh dear... Sorry Thursday wasn't a good day {{{hugs}}} I'm sorry you don't have a Principal that reminds staff how important testing is! No one enjoys it but Geeze... What a mess!
Sorry the cake lady was rude... I found that with the woman who did Matt & Patti's cake, but since I wasn't paying her! I had asked Ken's cousin Di, but she gently bowed out, when she heard what they wanted... guess it wasn't fancy enough for her? I forget the actual reason, but anyway, the end cake was very good - even a year later! Fingers crossed you find someone soon.
Yes, it's not always about the scale!! Your heart health is more important than the number on the scale! I know easy for me to say! LOL As for my plan... So far so good! LOL Third day here, and will pre-track soon, so I know what I have to DO for the day!
Along the driveway side of our house, leading to the back door, we have a handicap ramp. It was here when we bought the house. The previous owner's son was in a car accident that left him in a wheelchair. So the ramp was put in, and the mudroom and back bathroom were added onto the house. The back room (behind the kitchen) became his bedroom. That's when the kitchen was moved/updated... the back room used to BE the kitchen, long - long ago. Anyway, it has no ceiling, so there are plenty of places for birds to want to build a nest. IMHO they can build a nest in any one of the dozens of trees on and around the property - they do NOT need to build under my ramp roof. I wouldn't care, except for the mess they leave behind! Not to mention, when we use the back door, they dive bomb at us! UGH! NOT a good situation. I know it is illegal to disturb a nest, so we get the crap down before it gets to BE a nest! Yes, I can powerwash in cloudy weather, but not in the rain. Ken thinks that's how I "broke" my last machine. So this new one will stay OUT of the rain! Thanks, yeah... this whole thing with Zoë still has me worried, and yes, Patti just lets it happen. She herself is a computer gamer - so she sees nothing wrong. I am hoping Zoë will want to come up for an overnight tonight - but if not, I assume she'll be up tomorrow at least. Tracy, Bob & Tim will be up tomorrow afternoon, to get the pool filter & pump put back together, so that will be good for her too. She does love spending time with Uncle Tim & Bob. I think it's good for her as well.
{{{hugs}}} to you as you spend time with Virginia. Hope you find out more about Tuesday - and yes, it might be fun to set up the outdoor furniture with her.
Sue: Glad you are set for the game. Yes, as the sun goes down, it may get chilly.
Gabrielle: Ahhh, so it wasn't "just me"! LOL Darned site was telling me my login was incorrect, and some other nonsense! OH Fingers Crossed that your Mom is ready to put down a deposit, AND that her house sells quickly! Although it will be a LOT for YOU to deal with... will your sisters & brother come to help clean out the house? Might be easier if she moves into her new space, then you all can clean out the house? Oh dear... Poor ed! That has to be so awful for him, learning yet another of his friends has passed. WOW Oh Hun... you have every right to feel stressed about everything! Between work, time, your Mom, the court case (from Hell) and losing another of DH friends... Yes, stressed doesn't even sum it up! I honestly don't know how you cope some days!
OMGosh, Ken is trying to go to pickleball 3 times a week now! He got rained out Tuesday, but went yesterday and will go tonight. His own set should be here tomorrow - so who knows, we may have a pickleball court in our driveway sometime soon! LOL
UGH a Friday 4:00 PM meeting? Well better than 5 I guess?? If it's another Zoom, I'd drive home and do them all from there this afternoon!
OK, 1.) Greatly decrease alcohol - Day 3, and I have my AF Margaritas and AF wine, if I want them, for the weekend! 2.) Track daily, being mindful of my macros - Day 3 of pre-tracking and sticking to the plan!! Including 100+ oz of water 3.) Make movement a daily habit - Still a struggle! Not sure that will ever be a normal part of my days! 4.) Be thankful each and every day ♥ - Today I am thankful for peace & quiet. I do enjoy days without the TV on in the next room! 5.) Organize the house and photos - Today is organizing the back room. Move the E so I can open the door, and still use the E, if we want. Also get the summer cabinet outside for bathing suits and towels.(this didn't get done yesterday, as Tracy came up, then my sister Pat arrived, with Eden, and a friend stopped by with some Relay $, so there went about 2-3 hours out of my day)
Thanks again for listening/reading ladies... I told Kait that THIS is my daily journaling!
♥hugs♥
