MAY 5 My goals for this 100 days are: π Track every <pointed> BLT πΆββοΈ Walk or do some other form of exercise to total 150 minutes per week π§Ή Clean or tidy or declutter something every day ποΈ Use a fountain pen daily or do something creative βοΈ π«π· Work on French either on Duo Lingo or online reading something in French βοΈ βοΈ Weigh every morning βοΈ <168.2> [day 2]
I was over on points and calories yesterday but did make healthy choices. Today is a new day and the last in this week's tracker. Looking forward to a clean slate in the morning.
DUOLINGO is difficult when it does the lessons that have the weight lifting dumbells that go back to previous lessons that I have forgotten. Always end up using up hearts to get through to move on. I sometimes wonder if it is worth trying to keep the streak going!
Books are piling up and I need to get busy and no doubt will skim some to write the reviews.
Talked to our daughter last night, hope to talk to our son and his family today though they are at a swim meet, and also sent in a request for an absentee ballot but am not sure if it will arrive by the deadline (tomorrow?)
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Good day yesterday. It seems I've finished the Duo coursework! Now I get something called Daily Refresh instead of new lessons and still have the page with the speak, listen, and stories and the Match Madness & Rapid Review. Odd that my annual renewed the day before I finished! It's hard because they don't tell you anything about when you're done or how many units/lessons there are. And they keep changing it up as you go along. I think tonight I will end up in 2nd place in my league and then a new tournament begins Monday. Did not make my steps yesterday but did on Friday Did my dental regimen Got outside Did my D/N & HT Out today to The Ukranian Home. It's rainy but I will wear a warm coat with a hood. Happy reading Cathy! Waving!!

I made leftover soup for lunch today with open faced tuna sandwiches then had a BIG bowl of cereal and milk this evening and still want pasta. I think it is that I went to bed at 2am and was up with not enough sleep so am tired and NOT hungry. More water hopefully will eradicate the pasta craving!

Tuesday May 7! Beautiful day! I had an early start and then had my first meal ~12:30 and then I had to bake. My grandson is having something at school and my DIL sent me an SOS asking for cookies. I made the dough yesterday morning and then baked this afternoon. Not perfect but they'll do. I used 6 sheet pans/cookie sheets and on the 2nd batch the cookies on one sheet would not come off! Can't figure it out. The first batch were ok. A mystery. I can't sweat it. I hope they're enough. Some are a little well done but not too. Not burned. Done now so I'll rest. Going to NYC tomorrow to see a show with a friend. I think we are eating at a restaurant nearby. Made my steps goal Sunday & Monday Got outside Did my dental regimen Did my D/N & HT Leaving for MA Thursday but back on Saturday for my husband's birthday!! Waving!!

Today I am going to go out for the afternoon with Rosalie. We will drive to Batroun (probably) and walk, talk, window shop, go to an outlet, decide what we will eat for lunch on Saturday then pre-order, have a sugar-free low-fat latte or ice latte to finish our outing then head home. I might buy some wine to relax with when I get home. I have a book to review and books waiting to be read. My brother and daughter met in Kansas City yesterday and I am eager to hear about their visit. My daughter sent me a photo of my brother with his arm around me at a ski resort when he was probably still in high school and I was in college...we were both so young!
I hope all of you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Had fun with Rosalie, found a pair of sandals and a timer for the kitchen, we decided what we will eat on Saturday as we needed to preorder, and had iced coffee before returning to our homes. On the way there was a checkpoint that was rounding up Syrians that did not have legal papers to stay in the country. One man looked very nervous. I wonder what happens if their wives or children are here - if they are picked up, too, or left behind and if they have any way to get money or belongings before being transported.

activity/exercise tracked GHGs and extra protein
Hi Girls! My post last week disappeared and I'm starting to think it may be my laptop. It always seems to be the long posts that get knocked off too. lol I was waay too crabby to type it all over again. It's so good to read everyone is doing well and keeping busy. It's been almost two weeks since I had my back procedure. All went well with just two days of downtime. Now, if I could just figure out what's going on with my muscles! We've been busy here keeping up with the property and the beds. It takes us longer to do things and longer to recover from the doing, anymore. The electricians were set to come out last week after having already been here to assess and order what they need for the job. On the day of their arrival, they called to say they didn't have the permit yet. So now we wait. This season, Pat and I are adding a few more perennials to benefit the pollenators. That will be it for us with one exception. We are making a hugelkultur to grow our few veggies and tomatoes. The raised bed is done in layers with old logs on the bottom, then branches, twigs, leaves/clippings, peat, compost and top soil. Phew! We put the raised structure together and have everything we need now to fill it this weekend. We thought it would be a good idea for us as we continue to age we're finding gardening harder on our knees and backs. I have a few goodies for the porch and patio planters to get potted up over the next several days. Everything else is much the same here. Our boat went in last week and my brother lucked out with good weather for it. It will be nice to get down there again. Waves and positive energy to all! cathygeha , great drop on the scale! Sounds like you had a wonderful time with Rosalie. Hope you get to hear all about your DB and DD's meet up in Kansas soon. How fun that she sent a photo from so long ago! The checkpoints there sound like serious business for anyone without proper papers. I hope you have a great time Saturday! Karen congratulations on finishing your Duo coursework! Shame they keep changing it up as you go along. I'd find that difficult too! Hope the new tournament goes well. I know how much you enjoy visiting the grands. I'm sure the cookies you made for grandson's school thing were delicious. Hope you had a great time and enjoyed the show in NYC yesterday. Can't wait to hear all about it. Safe travels Karen! luvvinlife I hope all is well GisΓ©lle and you are both enjoying good health, loved ones, and travel.

Pasta was the main course for two meals yesterday...oh my! Ah well, today is a new day and back on track I will be! Lunch will be sauteed spinach and onions with bulgur, garbanzo beans, and chickpeas with fruit for dessert. It will be an OP day and tomorrow's lunch will be healthy and is already pre-planned.
Pam: Good to see your post

day off exercise/activity but got a bunch of steps in tracked - used 0 weeklies GHGs plus protein
I had a pretty good day yesterday and thankfully, a far less strenuous one. It's a lot cooler here today at a rainy 50. I'm amazed how quickly the trees have leafed out already. We get those catkins in piles from pin oaks. The azaleas are putting on a show now. I love this time of year but, not so much the frequent temperature swings and pollen coating on everything. lol My brother convinced me that he has better logs for our hugelkultur. They have been in contact with the ground much longer than ours, so they're moss covered and further along in the decaying process. Perfect! After asking me for measurements, DB cut them to fit our raised bed. He's so awesome! We'll pick them up this weekend. Pat went into the office today and I've got some laundry and chores to finish. Tonight is pizza night. In case I don't get back here beforehand, I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day! Cathy today's lunch sounds delicious! I hope you all have a good time tomorrow. Safe travels!
Waves to Karen and GisΓͺlle - hope all is well!
