Good SUNDAY Morning!
Today I actually have to make a plan to keep it Simple. Is that sad and pathetic? lol
There are SO many things on my TO DO list but in reality I cannot get them all done in one day. And really, I need to rest and relax and be ready for this upcoming week. It promises to be challenging.
First of all, my sweet Aunt Marion passed away on Friday. This was the aunt who just turned 90 last month but I am SO glad Carly and I went to her Birthday gathering and spent time visiting. She looked so good! Lots of good memories of her - DB Tom shared yesterday he begged Virginia last week to go visit Aunt Marion again knowing she was home on hospice. Virginia gave him all sorts of excuses not to go, but in the end she did go. And shared a text with me how good Marion looked on Tuesday. She was sitting up in her recliner, smiling, surrounded by most of her kids (Charlene was in town from SC, Sandy was still here from WA) and 4 others. Mom got to visit with all of them and her sister. I think Virginia was pleasantly surprised. And I'm so glad she went over! Friday she tried to pull the, "I'm so sad and devastated my sister died!" (really?) But I reminded Virginia she saw her at her best and what a Blessing! Suddenly Virginia is moving forward all about her Watchman procedure on Tuesday. Never mind her sister's funeral and service on Wednesday the day after her procedure.
Virginia's youngest brother (Uncle Gil) is torn about flying up now for Aunt Marion's service or wait until his planned trip in June. Some of the CA cousins are planning to fly in for the service to 'represent' the family (older siblings) which I think is super great! There were 7 children all together and most had 4 - 7 children. I have 29 cousins on that side of the family. Lots of folks. And I feel kind of bad my mom will be missing ALL of this because of her heart procedure on Tuesday. She's not. She is perfectly fine with missing her only sister's funeral! She text me yesterday with the news and said, "You go if you want. Pick me up after if I'm discharged." Oye Vey

Gabrielle - I'm eager to hear how it all went yesterday with your Mom! AND was it the showing of her house to her friends the same day? Or is that today? It is moving fast! Yesterday Lindsey informed us she is chatting with two close friends about renting a house together NOW since a lot of local college graduations have open vacancies. Makes sense. But we are not so sure she's in a financial position to rent but then honestly, when will she? LOL At this point we are trying to steer the girls towards a decent part of town and AWAY from the area they are quickly looking at vacancies - of course there's an opening! It's a bad neighborhood! smh- I sent her a few 3 bedroom townhouses with cheaper rent, pool/fitness center included and she responded "Not a house though!" True. But cleaner, safer, and they don't have to mow lawn or shovel a driveway! Ugh. Youth. Did you get your run in before the rains? Raining here today and drastic drop in temps back to the 50s for this week. I came 'this close' to buying some potted flowers yesterday...now I'm not sure.
Sue - I hope you feel all caught up! LOL What a nut! I was able to figure out you had copied and pasted some posts there...thanks for explaining again who was who with the 'family' and kids. What a scary journey no matter who it impacts. I wish their family well and I'm sure you will give Vonnie plenty of hugs. I found a cute outdoor pillow to add to my front porch rocker but I told Gary and Linds to make sure one of us always brings it inside if it's going to be super windy as it's lightweight and will probably blow away! I even pointed to a certain spot in our foyer that my new Gnome pillow goes when the last person shuts off the porch light each night! lol I have thin cushions/pads on our rockers from Aldi's. They are just right for that comfortable protection from wooden slats. I actually bring them inside if it's going to storm but for the most part the front porch doesn't get wet. The deck furniture does not have cushions, but the neighbors behind us have Patio furniture out of a Home and Garden magazine with thick cushions like a living room set and I wonder, How does it not get soaked? I often see it up on their side like you mentioned and trust me, it rains a LOT this time of year.
AND the pollen! UGH All outdoor furniture has a coating of green right now. And my allergies are awful even with Flonase (which I started taking a month ago to prepare for this moment). Thankfully it clears up within another week or so...

Carole - I agree this is our Journaling How was your Saturday? Did you get the pool pump put together? Our weather is yuck now for the remainder of week but maybe it will change! I can be optimistic, right? Mother's Day is next weekend but I've just got to get through this week first before making any sort of plans for next week. I was going to go sit with Virginia yesterday or today but she said, No. I'm fine. Hm, okay. I still recall how she yelled at me last January to STAY AWAY as I upset her! So I will abide by that wish. Trust me, I have plenty to do here. I went to Wal Mart and picked up some grass seed and finished getting a few other things needed. Raked up damaged grass patches in back yard (ugh. That was harder than I thought even after soaking the ground first) and planted fresh grass. Did a little weeding around the side of house. After 2 hours my allergies were bad enough I knew it was time to hide inside. I felt productive though! Hey, when is the big Family trip to Branson, Missouri?
Jenny - I hope this morning you can get your lawn mowed. Ohh I would love a Wisteria tree! pretty! I need to fix up my island in front of our wooded lot this year as over the years it's looking a little sad - needs topsoil and potting soil added. Think I'll add some more bulbs for pretty flowers but need to be mindful of those pesky squirrels and chipmunks. Relax is on my agenda today too. I plan to put a pork roast in crockpot for pulled pork. Then will add coleslaw and maybe roasted red potatoes for dinner. Just sounds good. How was that 9:00 AM meeting yesterday?
Jo - why does your shoulder and neck area hurt so much? Did you fall? Gosh, I'm sorry I don't remember or did I miss it? What did the doctor say? I know it must be bad if you went to the doctor! Sorry to hear how stressed and overwhelmed you are feeling with work but yes, job security there! Any plans for vacations this year other than a trip to the Lake?
I really should get moving - want to flip the laundry and get the pork in the crock pot - I'm hoping everyone keeps this day SIMPLE

Good morning!
It is 37 degrees here (in May!) and the area about 10 miles east of here had 6 inches of snow yesterday....what is up?? Anyway, it is not raining now so I am happy about that. We are not ready to change out the flannel sheets though. I do remember that, last year, we were planning for the wedding and the "big event" at our house the evening before. I do remember so many rainy weekends and hoping that we would get it all done---so, I guess it might be our new delayed Spring pattern? The weather is looking nice though for the week ahead so maybe this was nature's last hurrah. Yesterday was a good day....it poured rain but only for the last 20 min or so of my run. It was nice and cool for running. DH decided to run with our group so we met a couple of people for coffee afterward and then rushed home to quickly shower and get mom to the retirement community. She was kind of in a mood---maybe I would have been that way too. But she did put down a deposit for the place we saw. It is super clean, lots of windows --but about 70% of the size of the huge 2-bedroom we saw last week (this one has a den). it is about $1600 less per month though so it makes a huge difference in her budget and is closer to her doctors and friends. The gentleman showing us the unit would mention something (like where the pool was) and she would say, "Yes, we know that....yes, I know.... I am aware" and I wanted (at one point to say), "Mom, can you just be polite and listen?" but I didn't. To be honest, I wish we hadn't visited on a Saturday in the pouring rain. No one was "out" due to the weather and we had lunch at 11:10 am...the "lunch service" is from 11-3. She said, "hardly anyone is here" and I thought, "it's no wonder!". I might drive by one day and just pop in to see the dining area when it is a bit busier. But she did make her deposit (which is fully refundable by the way) so I hope this is a sign.
Christine: I hope that you don't hold yourself accountable to the big list today! I have to say, thinking about retirement, one of the things that I am most excited about is not having that kind of background sense of dread on Sundays---like I need to get everything done for the week ahead. I am sorry to hear of Marion's passing but what a beautiful thing to have so much family around her! She sounds like she had a wonderful family-filled life. And, although she will probably never tell you this, I thank you for pushing your mom to go see her. No matter what she says, I still believe that there would have been some guilt about not seeing Marion before she passed. I think about your mom and how many she has lost (and you!) and wonder if she is afraid she won't wake up from that procedure on Tuesday? Maybe not....she surely could be nicer about it all! My mom also has so many moments where she is so self-centered...maybe that is part of getting older and being alone? I don't know. You are an angel though for putting up with it. I hope that Linds listens to you about living in another location. I think kids have this image in their mind of their first place and they tune out reality. I hope that you can get some of those flowers planted....we have gophers and they are awful. They have pulled a 3 foot high tomato plant of mine down under ground before! Our cat is good about hunting them, but it is shocking how much damage they cause. Hoping that you really do get to have your simple day today--thank you for getting us going!
Carole: How did the day go with the girls? Hoping that it was a nice day. Reading about your family's journals, I am reminded that my grandmother had a journal. She tracked temperatures and very detailed description of the weather every single day! She also noted where they went that day. She didn't drive so my grandfather (and us family members after he passed) drove her everywhere. Nice memories. Count me in as another person who only tells all of you certain things. You all know me better than most people! Wow, that would be great to have a place to play pickleball around your house---talk about raising the resale value! You are doing great with your goals. I am so glad that you found that tequila that you like. Did you say it was alcohol free? If it is, that is interesting that the taste satisfies you without the effects of the alcohol...you are doing great with your tracking as well! Like Christine, I am also wondering when you are all heading to Branson. I love your family vacations. Hope that you have a good day!

Jenny: I hope that yesterday's meeting time and the Chinese food birthday dinner went well. Are you warming up like we are this week? You plant so many of the same plants that we do...very similar climates I think. I remember driving through Salem and realizing that, with it being a ways from the coast, the climate is drier ---like here. Hoping that your weekend is going well for you.
Jo: It sounds like you had a miserable week pain-wise. I am also one who is wondering what brought this on. Is it the way you are sitting for work or something? Wow, you have a lot of new learning for work....that can be fun sometimes -- and more interesting. I hope it is that way for you.
Sue: Oh how fun if the boys start some street hockey in the driveway! I look forward to seeing all of the things that they do outside as the weather improves....what a difference a year makes around your house! I hope that you are able to slip into some of the routines that you enjoy this week...and it will be nice to have the chatterbox gone at work, right? The potted plants you are adding to the outside (front and back) sound lovely--and I really do love that view of the field behind your house. I seem to remember you mentioning Shea's parents owning property but I don't think that I realized that it was right next to you. Oh the harvesting....the people who live across the street from our ranch (they live up on hills and drive down to the main road and see the ranch as they drive down -- about 20 houses of people on 5-acre parcels-- always comment on enjoying seeing when we are harvesting the grapes or picking the peaches. It's like a trip back in time. Crepe Myrtles thrive here --- they love the beating-down sun and heat and are in most everyone's landscaping. Oh, the outdoor cushions. We have had ours for about 4 years now. They are made of that Sunbrella fabric (which helps) and look pretty new. We bring them in for winter and about 80% of the time when it rains in the spring/fall. They dry quickly. I actually think that the hot, beating sun would damage them more than the rain (as long as they can dry quickly). Our outdoor area is shaded by a large oak tree (for the most part) and this protects them from the sun. I hope that you have a sunny Mother's Day! It is supposed to be nice here... - what is Jason trying to use that requires internet in the room made of cinderblock? I hope he can find a plan "b"!
Okay, I need to go. DH is going to come with me for a little Cinco de Mayo brunch at a friend's house (the group I used to run with on Sundays). They fixed up a house over two years and have an AMAZING view of the American River...I am looking forward to him seeing it. Have a good day!

Good Morning all
It is raining here but I really need to mow today or it's going to be a jungle out there next weekend if I don't, my lawn is so green and pretty, I just love spring time.
Well I went to my meeting and the people were really nice but it's going to take us a while to get used to the time change and people, the 10:30 meeting all sat together and the 9:00 meeting all set together so we are still divided but in the same meeting, as we progress I'm sure we will all be one happy meeting it just going to take time to know everyone. I did like the fact that I can be done with the meeting earlier and come home and clean my house and get a few things done.
We went over to Kerry's dad's last night for Chinese food and it was really good, I just wished we could of taken him out to eat to get him out of the house but Merry my SIL say's he doesn't bath and stinks but I didn't notice any smell when I gave him a hug goodby last night, sometimes I think her and my BIL say things that aren't true just to add some drama to the situation. UGGG Oh well it's all done.

Sue the patio furniture and stove looks so pretty on your patio, you will get a lot of good use out of them. I'm glad the boy's help putting it all together, you will make some great memories this summer out there. Are you going to set up the Blackstone out there? The new blacktop driveway looks awesome as well. I bet your glad to have all of this done finally. Glad you get a week with no Tonya, that's almost a vacation for yourself and Gloria. LOL
Carole what brand is your Margarita mix that is non alcoholic? I bought a bottle of the wine margarita the same kind you bought in Texas, that stuff is really good, I had a glass last night when we got home. I got to watch the Kentucky Derby as well yesterday, I just love watching the horses, they are so pretty. Sounds like Tracy is doing well and no more hospital visits. How is Bob doing? Are they still dating?
Christine so sorry to hear about your Aunt passing away, she had a good long life. Why doesn't Virginia want to see her sister? You got your hands full with her. Yes, I can't wait to plant my Wysteria tree and my flowers when it gets nicer this next coming weekend, we sure have had a lot of rain this spring. We are going to have sour cream enchilada's in honor of Cinco De Mayo today, I use Joanna Gains recipe in her cookbook and they are so good with some lime rice and a green salad.
Gabrielle, yes we are going to get up into the 80's towards the end of the week into next weekend just in time for Mothers Day. I'm going to have everyone over and I will see what my Mom would like to eat. I'm so happy your mom made a down payment for her new place and I hope she sells her home when she shows it today. Sometimes I think all our moms are a little self centered, my mom has times when I question her thinking and sometimes I notice she makes stuff up so she looks right about everything. Oh well. I guess it her truth.
Ok Kerry's up and talking so I need to go, have a great day all

Jo: Sorry you are in pain. What did the Dr have to say? Hope it's subsiding. Good for you taking on a new job/system... JOB SECURITY! But I thought you worked with gas stations... what's a dance account?? I am doing good (this week), no alcohol, until last night! LOL So much for my 10 day goal! LOL It's all good... impromptu dinner out last night, so I allowed myself 2 tracked glasses of wine. Back to AF today. Oh and along with my wine, I DID get 108 oz of water, so yeah, I'm OK with it all!
Jenny: Busy weekend for you! Hope your meeting went well. Going for Chinese sounds yummy. Glad you can get out to mow before the rains come. Our yard needs mowing bad, but DH keeps putting it off! Hope you have a few minutes to relax and regroup today, before back to work tomorrow!
Sue: Our weather is so outta whack these days, we never know what it will be - until it IS! Yesterday the rains held off, but it was chilly most of the day. Today the rains are here and only in the 40s! UGH! Yes, glad Sarah & Josh can work out the juggling of kids, but I would think it gets "old" trying to plan meals! Hopefully today everyone will be home for a meal. Maybe you can ask Sarah what the week looks like for the boys being home?
Wouldn't it be great if the April showers were indeed GONE? NYC does NOT look good for our day Saturday! Depending which weather app I look at, one says rain all day, the other says partly sunny from 2:00 PM on, so only rain for the first few hours. Either way - UGH, going to be a long day!
The girls were out on the front porch all day yesterday. Well then the driveway for a while, but they do love the screened in porch.
I had a visit with Patti yesterday, and she is taking this seriously. She was using her app to view the VR games that Zoë plays. We think it's not the VR games, as much as some of her You Tube videos. Sorry you had such an "off" week. Been there... can't really put your finger on the why. {{{hugs}}} Hope it has subsided now. Well I misunderstood this O2 test! LOL (not surprised) I spoke with the CPAP people, and they are sending my an O2 Monitor... pulse ox thing, to simply wear one night! LOL So once it gets here, in the next 2-3 weeks! I will wear it and then send it back (next day) so they can read my O2 levels during the night. My sleep Dr., reminded me, that my pressure was supposed to be higher than what it is now. I had asked to have it lowered when it kept waking me up, as it went higher than 11. So I am thinking, that I will need to go back to the 12-18 that she initially wanted. Hopefully now that I am more used to using it the higher pressure won't be as big an issue?? Oh Thank God Ken's PCP scheduled him an appointment! LOL They aren't waiting for him to decide to make one! He goes tomorrow morning at 8 AM! HA! He's not happy with 8 AM... hey I told him IF he had scheduled his own appointment weeks ago, he probably could have chosen a better time! Next time don't wait so damned long! LOL
I ended up with a flatbed scanner. It won't do the slides or negatives, but Tracy's will, I guess. I'm happy with this one, as it's like the one I used to use at work. It plugs directly to my laptop, and so will my portable hard drive. It will work for me, for now. Being a rainy day today, maybe today will be my start day! LOL
OK I wondered WTHeck? But figured it was a lost post, that was then found, or posted by mistake... this site can sure mess with us somedays!
Amazon sells pretty much everything! Including Zero Proof Alcohol! The spiced rum is nowhere NEAR Captain Morgan, so was hesitant about the Tequila. But I made it and even Tracy enjoyed it!!
Glad your Saturday was a simple post - putter - post - relax - putter kind of day. We all need them once in a while! We hit the farm stand instead of the grocery store yesterday. Zoë wasn't really cooperating, and quite frankly I didn't want a scene going through the store! At the farm stand I got her a donut and a bottle of milk. Within minutes, she was a totally different child! UGH! She's never "ready to eat" breakfast, but without it - that girl can be a HANGRY BEAR!
I use a Norwex Paste to clean my cooktop, but have heard others use Barkeepers Friend? Good luck with Jason's lack of technological strength!

Christine: GOOD MORNING - Thanks for starting us off... and YES let's have a SIMPLE SUNDAY! I think the most thinking I will do today is place a pick up order at Wal-Mart, and (one of us) will have to drive over to get it. Maybe we'll both go and hit Ocean State too. It's sometimes fun to wander around that store, especially in the spring. So many ideas for the pool and patio.
YES - make that plan to keep it simple today Girl... You need it!! Oh, sorry about your aunt. So glad Virginia went to visit her sister and the nieces/nephews. I'm sure it wasn't easy for her, but she will be glad she went. Sad she isn't finding a way to attend the service. Holy smokes 29 cousins? I have 2! LOL Hopefully you can manage both the funeral and Virginia's discharge!
Good luck with Linds finding a place to rent/share with friends. I went through the car wash yesterday... my car was a tinted green haze! Now of course it is raining, but I don't care, I needed my new car the pretty blue it's supposed to be! LOL I'm sure before we actually USE the patio furniture it will have to be sprayed down again.
My Saturday was good! The girls were playing well together, so I pulled out my power washer again! LOL I LOVE THAT THING! I am sore (again) today, but a good sore. Ken helped pull the furniture out before he went to work. Now with the rains today, I'm glad I didn't get the rugs out yet! LOL The rain will just give the patio another "rinse" after my power washing! Then my sister's arrived! UGH! They knew Tim & Tracy were coming to do the pool, so they came too. Tracy & I had not told everyone... as all they do is stand around and offer suggestions! They have no idea of what goes where, but the kids do, not to mention my sisters can't crawl around under the pool any more than Ken & I can! UGH!
YES, pool pump and filter are back together. Now we have to start adding water, so we can pull the cover later in the week. If Ken doesn't get it started today, I will! I'm ready to pull the cover now and let the rain fill the pool! But I will be patient with my DH's decisions.
Monday & Tuesday are "supposed" to be fairly nice and no rain, but then Wednesday - Sunday look pretty sucky here! We have no MD plans yet. Tracy wants to do brunch, but after being in NYC from 11-7 on Saturday, and the bus ride each way, I'm not sure I want to DO anything on Sunday! I have to pick up the plants/flowers that I ordered, this Friday afternoon. So maybe Sunday I can dig holes? Should be easier after 4 days of rain? LOL
Nice productive day for you yesterday. Glad you could get so much done, and then get inside when allergies kicked up. Branson trip is August. Seems so far away! But it's good... not wishing my summer away! Our June/July gets so hectic, that August is a good time to just get away! With the weather today, I think I'll book our January FL trip!
Oh your dinner does sound yummy! I have some meatballs in the freezer - I might pull them and rolls to just do Meatball Grinders tonight. Have to track them and see just how bad they will be in my tracker! Yesterday I tracked Fish & chips, then I couldn't eat them all! I hardly EVER only eat half my meal! But I was getting full, so I stopped! We did also have an appetizer, but I tracked that as well!
Enjoy your Simple Sunday ♥
Gabrielle: YIKES 37 degrees?? Well, actually we are (only) 47, but geeze CA should be warmer than 37! LOL SNOW??? Glad you enjoyed your run, with DH. WOO HOO DM put a deposit down!! What was her "mood"? Well, a dreary rainy day, and not many people out for lunch at 11:10 AM, may have been part of it. So she'll have a bedroom, living room and den? That will be so nice for her. I do hope she follows through, and does NOT request a refund on the deposit! Is there a unit ready for move in? Or is she on a waiting list? Oh I just hope for HER sake she makes it happen. {{{hugs}}} My grandmother never drove either. A treat used to be to "go to ride" on a Sunday afternoon! Any day/evening really, I loved going to ride around with them. Like I said I wish I had kept all her diaries... I remember her babysitting me a LOT, so wish I had her diaries to read about those days! LOL
Yes the Zero Proof Tequila satisfies me, like I have said before, I don't drink for the "high" or "buzz", but for the taste and the habit. No one believes me though! Now I guess I can prove it! LOL
Sounds like a nice brunch for you today, and a nice view of a river - BONUS! Hopefully it will be warm enough to enjoy brunch by the river.
Jenny: YAY for finding balance with the new meeting. The fact you get home earlier is good. Funny how the people were split! Yes it will all come along, but must have felt awkward for a while. UGH Sounds like SIL just didn't want to deal with taking her DF out! Glad the dinner was nice though, now I have a hankering for Chinese food! LOL
I like Ritual brand, and I get it on Amazon. We got to the Pub just in time to watch the Derby! I am not a race "fan" but I do like the Derby. WOW it was a close one!! Tracy is doing well. She has kind of stalled at weight loss, but she was so happy yesterday! LOL She can climb under the pool deck and get in and out without a struggle this year! She has been walking and doing strength training. She's honestly working really hard to get the weight off. Had to LOL she went to pack for her VA trip and some of the shorts she tried on pretty much fell down as she walked! Than goodness she tried them on before packing! LOL Bob seems fine... he is so damned quiet! He was here yesterday, but after saying hello, I don't think I heard him say a thing, until he said good bye! Oh geeze, I see THAT behavior in Kathy too. Little things like "Zoë had a day of wetting her pants", and Patti said, "it was only once"... Kathy said, "well it was actually 4 times, but she begged me not to tell you" I thought yeah right... no way she wouldn't have told Patti, or if she didn't, then that's not fair TO Patti. I have said for years, that I don't trust some of what Kathy says.

1.) Greatly decrease alcohol - 2 tracked glasses of wine, but today back to water!2.) Track daily, being mindful of my macros - Tracked a Saturday! Will start my tracker for today shortly! Pre-tracking has been helping me stay ON track. 3.) Make movement a daily habit - Today will be a challenge with the rain, but we'll see what I can do!4.) Be thankful each and every day ♥ - Today I am thankful to have yesterday's visit with Patti behind me. 5.) Organize the house and photos - Being a rainy day, there is something I can clean/organize!
I received a text from Patti yesterday, asking if we could chat in person. So I ended up taking Zoë back home late yesterday afternoon. I only wish it could have been just me & Patti, but of course Kathy was there as well. But, since she's the primary caregiver, I guess she had to be there too. Again, I have to take everything she says, with a grain of salt.
I guess by the time Patti got home last Sunday, and had seen my email, she asked Zoë some questions. Apparently by then Zoë didn't really remember? Kathy did say Zoë is always playing games and saying "UGH I'm dead" or "Yay he died". Patti however said, I have seen all the games Zoë plays, and none of them are people dying or killing. So even Patti was questioning Kathy! With the VR upstairs, and Kathy is pretty much downstairs all the time - HOW does she h ear her say anything?? Anyway, while I was there, Patti went into her parental controls and made sure they were still set to where she had them. I suggested maybe it's not the actual VR game, but the You Tube videos that she watches? Again Patti went into her app and made sure the parental controls were where she had set them before.
Meanwhile, Patti did say that a couple years ago, SHE suggested a therapist, and Zoë got freaked out about having to talk with a stranger. Now however, she will begin the process, and get her in somewhere. Patti brought up the email I had sent her, back then. A child therapist that (my therapist) Jasmina had suggested. She is in the same Valley Medical Group, that Zoë's PCP is located. However, she is out of the Amherst office, about a 30 minute drive. I reiterated that I would be glad to drive her... I even said, I know Kathy would drive her - but wonder... if she is discussing Matthew and may want to continue the conversation in the car... that I may be the better one for that. I mean sure, Kathy knew Matt - but not like I did. I also talk about him all the time, so Zoë would know talking about him won't upset me. Anyway, long story short... or not... Patti is working on getting an appointment. Jasmina also gave me Bridgett's receptionist direct line, and said tell her I referred you. So, we'll see what happens/how this goes.
I feel so much better, except for the fact I'm still not sure what Patti thinks is OK, may not be, but I can't do any more than I have already done. I will however follow up with text/email just to see how things are going.
OK It is after noon (already?) so I guess I should get dressed and see how this day will unfold! A.) Make reservations B.) Browse HD for new cabinets (only 2) and flooring, sink, faucet. I want to order everything at the same time, to get 18 months 0% interest! C.) Laundry D.) Ironing E.) Pool filling Hope you are all enjoying a SIMPLE Sunday
♥hugs♥

Afternoon all....sitting here on yet another dreary day in Glenville! I did make it to the store to pick up stuff for the week...not much, but still cost me $93....UGH!! Got up just before 8:00 and enjoyed quiet while I had my first cup of coffee...then make a nice breakfast when the house woke up....while at the store, I started to get light headed and a bit nauseous....grabbed a soda to sip on while I finished....once I got the groceries put away I checked my BP and it was a little low and I hadn't even taken my blood pressure med yet....feeling a bit better now. The last load of laundry is done, dishwasher was run after breakfast so we have clean dishes for dinner....will roast potatoes and asparagus for supper and Jason will grill pork chops and some extra chicken for the week. Now it's time to just relax for the rest of the weekend.
Got my pool bag all packed and in the car along with some bras I bought that are TERRIBLE!! I will ship them back for a refund on Tuesday after work...need to take them to Parcel Plus....already have the QR code to scan when I get there. Note to self, do not fall for all the rave reviews on TV even it they sounds fantastic!! I fell for it twice...you would think I learned after the first disaster but no, I got sucked in again!!
Christine....thanks for starting us off this morning. I do hope you do find time to make today Simple....I know sometimes with so many irons in the fire it's hard to pull it off!! Your TO DO list will get done but you need to take care of yourself so you can tackle the week ahead. Sorry you hear that Aunt Marion passed away...so glad you got to see her for her birthday celebration. Sorry Tom had to beg Virginia to go visit her sister but I'm glad she did go and got to see her one more time. Will admit I'm kind of baffled why Virginia will not postpone her procedure to attend Marion's service/funeral....especially since she's right in town. When dad passed away, Jim and family had just left to head home to TX....they left on the 13th and dad passed away on the 14th....he did opt not to come back for the funeral....Jim was going to come alone and Pat told him that he didn't need to spend over $500 to get there for the service, it was more important that he and the entire family had come home and spent a week with him right before he died. That is totally different and Jim still feels bad he didn't come.....Virginia just seems like Marion is no one to here and it's no need to be there???
Honestly Christine I did NOT paste anything.....when I'm on my laptop, I will copy the post ever now and then just in case I lose it....I rarely lose posts when I'm on the PC but I must hit something on my laptop that makes the post just disappear.....I had just copied it and then all of a sudden I saw the toggle bar on the side move and then move again. When I started to scroll I could see it had pasted it twice but in random spots....I have no idea what happened and what order everything should be in so I just deleted anything I saw a 2nd and then 3rd time....technology!?!?! I'll never figure it out!!
I got word from Vonnie last night that Irelyn is still struggling with nausea and vomiting since the chemo....she was OK at first but had been struggling ever since....when she can keep food down she can go home but they suggest that the other kids are NOT home when she gets there because of infection and the port incision still needs to heal....they will do next chemo on the 13th, then 5-6 more weeks and hope the tumor shrinks and the kidney can be preserved. Then surgery to remove the tumor....they are hoping all will be behind her in 6 months....just in time to celebrate her 11th birthday on November 12th! Fingers crossed.
LOL Christine....when the boys and I went out to put together the chairs, Kellen saws "oh gross, what's all over the table?"...I laughed and told him it's the pollen that is driving us all crazy with allergies!! We should soon be past these spring allergens soon too....I'll be glad, Zyrtec helps but doesn't take symptoms totally away!! I never had seasonal allergies until about 8-10 years ago!!
OMG Gabrielle...snow in May in CA?? That's crazy!!! We were in the low 50's this morning when I got up, now it is up to low 60's and will climb with each day moving forward...Wednesday it's supposed to be mid-80's again! I do believe we are FINALLY past the threat of any frost/freezing....sure hope you soon get a break!! We ended up with 3/4 of an inch of rain yesterday and it will be raining off and on all week but nothing that really amounts to anything....just a nuisance.
The unit you mentioned sounds much like Pat's....hers is a 1 bedroom with a den that if need be could have a futon in it for guests.....while it was a HUGE downsize for Pat, once she got things purged and organized it works fine and the price was much more manageable than the bigger unit she had been looking at when Dad was still living. Sounds to me like DM is ready to make the transition and sees that financially the smaller unit price, location of facility and all around situation is manageable and it's time. Fingers crossed she follows through but she does sound serious this time!!

Gabrielle...the cushions actually do dry quickly and they bead up and when you tip them to slide the water off them they really don't feel too wet. I'm thinking they might be similar to what you have. I know I will get used to it....I'm thinking I might get a small tote to put back by the bulkhead section that I can put the cushions in and they will stay dry.....might be handier than trying to bring them into the house or the garage. I'll have to check Walmart the next time I'm there.....didn't think about it today when I was shopping!
Now that we are streaming TV, he needs the Wi-Fi for that....unfortunately sometimes in the bad weather, the signal is not as strong and even I have buffering issues....not often but sometimes....I'm not in a cinderblock room though.....He'll figure it out and it he continues to complain I will tell him we can get satellite back and pay $80 more a month.....he'll stop his complaining!!
Oh yes, I will be very happy to not listen to Tonya for an entire week...she has been having "severe back spasms" this past week but funny thing is she walks fine, gets up and down fine UNLESS someone new comes in the room. We go through this every few months when she's feeling like she needs attention....she talks about how she's on narcotics....AKA 800mg of Advil prescribed by the doctor....NOPE, not a narcotic and if she truly has spasms she would have a muscle relaxer.....she's a piece of work and we will enjoy the week thoroughly!! LOL!!
Jenny....sorry the rains came and nixed your plan to mow this morning...yes, I know what you mean about the "jungle" out there....that was our yard last weekend.....Jason finally got it mowed so we don't look like we need a baler instead of a mower! LOL!! Glad the meeting went well, yes I'm sure it will take a while for the two groups to merge into one big group but it will come in time. Sounds like the time change will be an easy adjustment for you and your Saturday routine. Glad the Chinese food dinner with DFIL was a nice evening....you might be right about SIL/BIL making up things just for drama....maybe next time you can take him out.....believe me, even if he is not freshly bathed, there are people that smell and look a lot worse...I think he would enjoy getting out to dinner.
Thanks Jenny....I keep looking out the French doors and smiling at the new space. I love that we finally have a practical place for a picnic dinner...we never really ever had a place for a picnic/cookout....we had a picnic table but it was not practical and we never used it. Now the space is always ready to go even it you just want to sit outside to enjoy a snack or a cup of coffee in the nice weather....Yes, the Blackstone will now get put together now that the patio area is complete....Jason insisted we had to wait so no the time has come....I actually just asked Jason today if he knew where it was because it needs to be put together....he knows right where it is and it is easy to get to!!
Oh....that's right Jenny...it is Cinco de Mayo....we are having pork chops, roasted potatoes and roasted asparagus....not exactly Mexican fare! OOPS!!
Carole....I'm so sick and tired of this up and down weather....you're right, we never know what to expect until we get up in the morning....it seems like it changes every hour when you look at the forecast.....it's getting old!! Honestly, I've gotten to the point that the only meal I really try to plan any more is the weekend meal.....during the week if they boys are not with Josh they are shoveling something quick before heading off to practice or a game. Life here during the week is organized chaos!! I usually do ask Sarah is she has an idea the schedule and sometimes we can coordinate, other times, it's every man for himself. Sorry the weather for NYC is not looking promising...but then again, that's days away so we all know it could change 3-4 times between now and when you leave!!
So glad to hear that Patti is indeed taking this situation seriously and looking into what Zoe watches on her tablet. That makes me feel so much better about things. Nope, not sure what my issue was this week....I was just "off" and like you said, nothing I could put my finger on....still not in a great mood but maybe if the weather breaks a bit and things keep moving along here and of course a week w/o Tonya....things might be looking up!!
Now the O2 thing makes sense.....hopefully that will give some answers and might just mean that you do need to increase the pressure.....if your are below what the sleep doctor wants it might be time to start to increase it again. I might think about waiting of AFTER you do the O2 monitor so it gives a true picture of how well the CPAP is working.
Can you send the link to the scanner you bought....sounds like it might be perfect for me....I only have pictures to scan so that would be fine for me. Thanks for the ideas to clean my cooktop!! Had to chuckle at Zoe being a "hangry bear" w/o breakfast....I'm with her, I never eat breakfast as soon as I get up...Jason does every morning but I need to be an hour or two before I'm ready!!
Need to start thinking about getting things ready for dinner...should be back later, I hope!!
