Sue: we had a very dreary wet day yesterday as well. Sorry you weren't feeling well while shopping. Oh how awful for Irelyn. Hoping she feels better soon, enough to at least get home.
This is the deck box that we have for cushions. We actually have 4 of them. We keep them out in the open, and the cushions stay nice and dry, and not faded. Just a thought.

When Tracy was having issues with our internet upstairs, she bought a router booster thing. It ran off our wi-fi, but had it's own name/password. Maybe Jason could get one of those? Hers was in the kitchen, so she got better signal in her upstairs back rooms.
So glad there is a bright side to Tonya being on vacation. Even with extra work, it will be nice. LOL Our Cinco de Mayo was meatball subs! I did enjoy one AF Margarita in the afternoon! Oh sure here's the link to the scanner, I still haven't used it yet!

I remember the bench - yes, cool to see the old vs the new. Is that going on a porch? Or inside? Oh this must be an old photo... you are using the bench in the house now aren't you? Flowers look nice, I pick mine up this Friday! WOO HOO!!

1.) Greatly decrease alcohol - Back to the AF yesterday! 2.) Track daily, being mindful of my macros - Came up short on protein yesterday, but still got my water, 96 oz 3.) Make movement a daily habit - Yesterday I was a slug! LOL Today we are going shopping, so plenty of steps will be earned! 4.) Be thankful each and every day ♥ - Today I am thankful that Ken will go shopping with me. 5.) Organize the house and photos - Probably not today.
Yesterday I booked our January trip to FL, to visit some friends. We fly Sunday morning and will stay 2 nights in Tampa, close to our friend Steve, with plans to visit him on Monday. Tuesday we will head up to visit Robert & Elaine, and then be at the Orlando resort for 3 nights, and fly home Friday evening. No theme parks, except maybe Sea World. We haven't been there in a while and I know Ken enjoys those shows, we'll see.
Then I went on to HD and started working on kitchen stuff! I asked the builder to give us a revised estimate/bid, with us purchasing the cabinets, sink, faucet and flooring ourselves. HD sent me a coupon for 18 months 0% financing, so we'd like to use that. I did OK looking on line, but Ken thinks we should go to a larger HD to see the selection of flooring - rather than trust pictures on the web site. So today we head to Pittsfield, to a larger store. Our local store has very little selection. While there I will try to look at the sink I picked out, just to see it. Then again I may change my mind on what I want! LOL I sort of want an apron sink, but worry it won't "look" right, so need to go see some. I may revert back to another stainless 2 bowl, but I do want deeper than what I have now. We'll see.
After HD we will browse Big Lots, never know what we might find there for our summer season! LOL Then we'll grab our pick up order at Wal-Mart and head home, just make the "loop"!
OK Ken is at the doctors now, so I best get myself ready, so when he gets home we can head out. Luckily the rains have stopped, and only a chance of a shower. Right now the sun is shining so it will be a nice day to be out and about.
So that's how I will MAKE THE MOST of my Monday!! ♥hugs♥

Good morning-
Running a little late today but oh well! This is a busy week but not because of work...tomorrow is Farm Day where we host 1600 3rd graders at the fairgrounds with agricultural activities--super fun day. Then Wed and Thurs are reserved for court....yes, it is finally happening. It is 38 degrees but it is supposed to hit 69 later--and the week is supposed to get warmer--fingers crossed we are finally in Spring (I hope). Made it to the gym this morning and have a semi-normal day at work today. We did go to my friend's house for brunch and it was so nice to have DH there and visit. My mom called right after we got there to see if I would be at her house when the lady (from her Kiwanis club) and her husband came over....on Saturday my mom said that she didn't really need me there and her real estate friend would be there. Yesterday she told me that she decided not to call her friend. So DH and I cut out of the brunch early to be at my mom's. The people came and she walked around with them. I was with them (in the back) and she made it clear that she didn't want me there SO.....I sat on the couch for an hour while she showed them around (I don't think that they are interested...the lady kept going on and on about her 5-bedroom huge house she currently lived in) and then I left. Whatever! She just needs to list it and leave it to her friend/agent.
Carole: Oh, I am SO glad that you and Patti spoke in person and that she is engaging with you! She knows that you only reach out because of your deep love and concern for Zoe. It is so hard to know with young kids when they will need that support (like therapy)---this might be her time. As hard as it is, I am SO glad that you pursued communication on this. Yay for getting the pool set up (and planning the kitchen!) and double yay for Tracy's progress with her fitness and noticing the difference! That is SO great! I am also glad that Ken is at the doctor's office to check out that cough. Someone else was recently telling me that they had a cough they couldn't beat. Hope that he/you get some answers. How fun to go to NY and NOT have to drive! Even if it rains, have a good waterproof outer layer and enjoy it! Wow, you two are quite the travelers...Branson, Florida...how great to have those trips to look forward to. Good job getting back to AF ---and for the rest of your progress. So impressive! Have fun at the big HD looking at things (I agree with Ken, it always looks different in person to me).

Jenny: So glad that you and your group made it to the earlier meeting--yep, it will all mesh eventually. We are all creatures of habit, aren't we? Wow, it sounds like it will be a perfect weekend for you next week to be outside enjoying Mother's Day! I think we will have nice weather (finally) here too. So glad that you could spend time with Kerry's dad and hope that you can take him out next time. When is Audrey finished with school? I know that a number of colleges finish right before Mother's Day....hope that you have a good day!
Sue: Your outdoor area is so pretty---love the flowers too! Hoping that your Tonya-free week is a good one. Oh, so sorry to read about Evelyn (sp) not feeling well but so glad that it sounds like it will be over before her birthday. I really hope that the treatment all works out---it's hard to imagine a child going through all of it. Yay for getting in your pool time today! That will feel good, I am sure!
Hello to all who follow...now I am really late, LOL. Need to get moving! I will try to pop in later (and think I will have the time).

Evening all...sitting here in a quiet house....Jason is one of 3 places....still at work, down at the lot or opted to go to Kellen's game. I told Kellen this morning that I'm heading to the pool so I wouldn't be there but would watch on Game Changer....Kellen pitched the 1st inning and only gave up one single that did not score....end of 1 inning Bulldogs are leading 2-0. I missed their first inning at bat but Kellen is usually middle of the line up so with the low score, he has likely not been at the plat yet??
Had a nice workout, hit the whirlpool for a bit and got my shower....once home I got some dinner, emptied the trash and recycling, loaded my lunchbox dishes in the dishwasher, folded the last load of laundry from last night and now have the rest of the evening to myself....
Carole...did you have fun wandering around Ocean State?? I've never heard of them....we don't have them here...is it like a HD, Lowe's, Tractor Supply?? I know around here all the "home stores" are full of fun ideas this time of year for the outside spaces. WOW Carole...only 2 cousins?? I have 12 on dad's side and 8 on mom's side!! Glad the girls played well on Saturday so you could break out the power washer again and tackle more of the area. I'm sure the power washing is a big part of the "sore"....I know Jason was sore when he did the front of the house before they finished up the framing of the screened in porch. Will say, there is something satisfying about seeing the before and after of power washing!! Sorry your sister's crashed you day....not sure why they felt the need since they can't help anyway?? I'm sure their constant suggestions can get annoying.
Carole...this must have been the weekend for close races....I'm like you with the horse races but I do love to watch the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes.....not only was the Derby "won by a nose" but the NASCAR race this weekend was the same way....they showed them both this morning on the news.....crazy how close both races were....I'm not a NASCAR fan at all but the country station I listen to always talks/predicts the race winner on Friday and then recaps on Monday....I rarely know the winner until my drive in but it made the news this week!!
As I read through your post about Patti, Zoe and Kathy, it sounds like Kathy kind of has her head in the sand and doesn't want take any part of the solution....Glad Patti is considering a therapist now....maybe with Zoe in school and more used to talking to others the prospect of talking to a therapist isn't scary. I agree, it Patti and Kathy don't talk about Matt at home, you would be the better person to take Zoe just in case she wants to talk more about Matt if that was the topic of the visit....she knows that you, Ken, Tracy and the rest of your family love to talk about Matt, share memories and talking about him doesn't make you sad but the memories make you smile!! All you can do is continue to follow up and make sure Zoe is the focus...other than that, it's out your hands.
Yes Carole...we did the same thing when ordering...tried to bundle as much as we could and take advantage of the "0%, same as cash financing"....saves a lot!!

Carole...thanks for starting us off this morning....thanks for the links to the scanner and storage for the deck....I clicked on the one for the storage tote and that is exactly what I was thinking....might be able to keep the firepit supplies in there too....the skewers for marshmallows and some of the grill supplies too.....will look at them maybe tomorrow when I'm out running errands after work....I need to drop off the package to return the bras, then will hit Joann's for fleece for the next baby blanket I need for Roman....need to get that done before we head to Auburn over the 4th and since Joann's is right next door to Parcel Plus....perfect multi-tasking for the trip....then will drive right by Home Depot and Lowe's to head home!!
Let me know what you think about the scanner...I book marked the link but not really in need of buying it now since it's a retirement project. As for the bench....I originally though about putting it on the front porch but opted to put it in the addition room....it fits perfect on the wall to the left of the French doors and it is more decorative with "family memories", my diffuser, a basket I made, etc.....
LOL Carole...I had to laugh at your comment "yesterday I was a slug"....hey, sometimes we need days like that!! I'm sure you'll make up for it today will all your shopping steps. YAY for booking your FL trip for January....sounds like a fun trip with lots of visiting and not a lot of "touristy" stuff but relaxing time!!
I'm looking forward to Tonya being away but not sure what she is doing or where she is going...she told us she was cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale and their son Matthew was driving down to visit with family and driving them both ways.....today she said they were cruising out of Jacksonville and flying down and back??? As I've mentioned....you NEVER know what is truth from Tonya....she can tell you the same story 3 times and all versions are different!! Who knows, all I know is I will have peace and quiet for a week!! Gloria asked me today if I would be OK if she took Friday afternoon off....she is going to graduation for a nephew and she is riding with her DS/DBIL....they are both retired and want to leave at 2:30 instead of 4:30....I will be fine, we can catch up on Monday if need be!! Friday's are usually quiet so I will fly solo on Friday afternoon!!
Carole...hope your HD shopping was a success....I love the look of an "apron sink" but it doesn't look right in my house but I think it might "fit" in your house!! You have a totally different style kitchen than ours. Sometimes people want an apron sink because they look cool but then you put them in and it looks dumb!! We had a single sink before and now have a 60/40 double sink and I LOVE it!! It's bigger and deeper than the old one and with the one bigger side you can easily wash those bigger pans and stuff.....Jason wasn't a fan at first but now he loves it!! Probably a good idea to go to a bigger store with more selection to actually see and touch....sometimes the online pictures can be misleading!! I know when we bought our CR-V I loved the one blue color....saw it in person and thought "oh yuck"!! Best to see things "up close and personal" sometimes!!
Keep us posted on what the PCP tells Ken....I know the cough has been driving you nuts so hopefully the doctor will address that and you will have quiet again!! Glad the rains have stopped for a bit....we didn't have rain today but we also didn't have any sun....it tried a couple times to peak out but never really materialized!!
Gabrielle....glad running a bit late didn't cause too much of an issue for you. I know you have always enjoyed Farm Day with the 3rd graders....this I'm sure is one "last" you will miss in retirement!! YAY for the court case FINALLY happening!! I'm still amazed had your really COLD lows....while our highs have been in the low to mid 60's the last couple days, the lows have still been in the low to mid 50's.....38 degrees is just crazy for May temps!!
Glad you and Ed made it to the brunch but bummer DM called you out early to be at her house while the folks looked at the house and you just sat on the couch....SMH, not sure why she wanted you there but really didn't....like you said "whatever"....she just needs to put it on the market and let the realtor handle things. Still wondering why they couple even came and looked at the house if all the woman kept talking about was her "big 5 BD house".....are they looking to downsize are they just humoring your mother??? Seems odd to me!!
We all got a text from Vonnie today that Irelyn seems to have rounded a corner....she has kept a few crackers down and hopefully if today goes well she will be home tomorrow.....I sure hope each chemo dose is not the same struggle with 4 days of vomiting....maybe they can tweak the anti-nausea meds and next time will be better. She has already lost 4 pounds and she does NOT have 4 pounds to lose.....especially if she doesn't gain them back before the next time.....breaks my heart for her....sure hope they figure things out and she is indeed looking at this time in the "rearview mirror" by her birthday. Always so hard to watch kids go through this....yes, it was not easy to watch dad, Deb and others go through it as adults but children just break my heart....
Thanks....yes, the flowers add such a nice touch to the area....can't wait to add them out front.....it's been so long since we have had hanging baskets and flowers in the front....it's ice to see the color "pop" again!! I did have a great workout today....feeling it now since I haven't been in 5 days it was a tougher day but feels good to get it done!!
Waves Jo, Jenny, Christine, Karen and anyone else that might pop in!! Hope you all had a great Monday!!! Starting to get a little chilly so time to close a few windows.....the heat in the house is officially OFF for the season so need to be diligent closing the windows as it starts to get chilly!!
Sweet dreams all...see you tomorrow!!
