Yesterday we went to Our Lady of Nourieh Convent on top of a high hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The story is that in 300 AD (or early anyway) there was a storm and sailors asked the Virgin Mary for help not to crash on the rocks. A light came from the hill and they did not crash so dug a cave into the rock wall to honor her. in the 1600's a convent/monastery was built on the site. It has gorgeous vies and steep winding stairs cut into the hillside to walk down to the first chapel and living area. Interesting. We walked in Batroun Souks and had lunch out then came home and relaxed and talked in the evening. Try this link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_Nourieh This one has pictures: www.livelovelebanon.com/en/our-lady-nourieh-monasteryCherry: It has been two or three years since I saw my daughter, I think she may feel it is too much time here but we are having fun together though not doing as much as she may have thought we would do. We are about half way through our time together so hope we will do more fun things before she returns to Missouri. Lynn: No big plans for New Year's Eve - we will toast the new year but won't be going out. Stay warm! Pam: My plan for 2017 does not kick in fully till the my daughter leaves BUT I am feeling I want to start earlier than that since rich foods and wine and such are beginning to feel a bit much. Not sure what foods are left on her "to be eaten while here" list but will try to be more moderate the second half of her visit. Beverly: I hope the wedding runs smoothly and your daughter and her husband will be very happy together! I, too, am looking forward to cleaner eating and less intake as well as support and recipe sharing in 2017.

Good morning. It has calmed down considerably since yesterday. The wind died last evening, but not before it filled my yard with blowing, drifting snow. Today it doesn't sound like it will be nearly as windy. I'm still hoping tomorrow will be nice enough for my grandson and son to come so we can finally have our Christmas. There are presents to be opened and prime rib to roasted and eaten. I finally got my laundry done yesterday. I was running out of warm pajamas. Today on my schedule is a better planned exercise routine, plus some house cleaning. Have a nice day, beaches.

One more brunch out before my sister returns to CA this afternoon. Mom has loved having all her family together the last week. We have lots of memories.
Planning a quiet family dinner and movie tonight. Need to get to the grocery store. I also plan to get a walk in while we're in Olde Towne for brunch. Have a great day everyone and keep smiling.
