NO EXCUSES
* This is a daily thread for those who want to live by the philosophy that you CAN be ON PLAN EVERY DAY, whether you are doing SFT or counting points for ALL foods! * You aren't doing this to brag; you are doing it for YOU! Because YOU are WORTH IT and because WW has made this totally DOABLE! * WW gives you a lot of freedom and a LOT of options that make it quite possible to live this lifestyle EVERY DAY. * You know that this philosophy keeps you on the straight and narrow. If you give yourself an excuse to go off plan today, there will ALWAYS be another excuse tomorrow. * SO, there are NO EXCUSES!!! * This is your LIFESTYLE and it is a lifestyle you enjoy and you live it daily. * Hopefully your participation here will not only inspire YOU but will inspire OTHERS too! YES, you CAN be ON PROGRAM EVERY DAY.

Time to Reflect, Look Ahead, Celebrate
When the clock strikes midnight, how will you ring in the New Year? Will you reflect back on how you achieved your fitness goals over the past twelve months? Will you rethink and update next year’s approach to healthful eating and active living?
The smart approach: Do both. Review what you’ve learned this past year to strategize for the coming one.
Celebrate with healthful New Year food folklore: • Enjoy a Cuban tradition: twelve grapes eaten as the clock strikes midnight with one wish for each month of the year (Make twelve promises for fitness!) • Add Southern tradition to your midnight buffet: Hoppin’ John (black-eyed peas cooked with ham and seasonings, and served with cooked rice) as a symbol of good luck. • Try a fishy Polish and German tradition: herring at midnight for good luck.
Wishing you a Happy,Healthy New Year!
Question: How will you see in the new year AND do you have any traditions related to New Year's Eve or what you eat on New Year's Day? Any comments? Do you make new year's resolutions?

No real traditions for either. Not sure what we will eat tomorrow or even today. We have some sparkling wine so might open it and toast in the new year tonight. I don't usually make resolutions but might this year...maybe.
I am looking forward to the new year and hope 2017 will be the year I return to goal weight then remain there forever!

Might sleep into New Year. Oh watching Washington (UW) play Alabama in bowl game afternoon of New Year's eve. Winner to play for national championship college football. Possible eye surgery later in 2017? yikes. Going to be ridiculously cold soon. I think down to -10°C (14°F) brrrrrrrrrr. So far no big snow event but long cold spell with highs below freezing.
Do something early New Year's Day followed by brunch with friends.

Driving to see the kids today. My son's birthday is 1-1. My plans are whatever theirs are, and to run around and laugh with and read to the boys. Happy New Year everyone. Resolutions - I usually do make some.

Tonight will be a quiet night. DH will go to bed between 9 and 10. If DS stays up I may stay up with him. But I'll probably be sleeping at midnight.
