C89. D11. TRE. Day 16 of Primal Whole 30 and my blood glucose average is slowly going down. I'm surprised to find the scale going down, since no fasting and eating LOTS of cheese, nuts, whole milk, (as well as fruit veggies and meat). I am feeling GREAT!!
This week will be harder to stay on track. Taking Mom to Mayo clinic for a day of appointments and meeting my dear friend from middle school who is ALSO taking her Mom to Mayo the same day!! We must be at that age... She asked to meet us at a pancake house (I love pancakes, but NO grains for me). I checked the menu and can have an omelette with a side of fruit and be fine.
Done with my staycation. Got lots of rest, walks, and peace. I actually got a little bored π―. Not ready to retire... Will be fast and furious today!
Nancy - glad you had a delightful time with Janet.
Lori- glad that the young folks brought you some joy while working on the holiday.
Meg- thank you for the no sugar and alcohol challenge (though it doesn't sound like no alcohol is a challenge for you. I, on the other hand, love the fuzzy feeling and the taste of fancy mixes drinks. And come from a line of alcoholics on all.sides of my adoptive and biological family).
Jan - I don't know if I've tried farro. Will check that out in the weeks ahead. Wow on the 8 mile run and 22 mile bike. I did not bike during vacation π. So far, I'm just letting our Airbnb guests know.rhey can add on the sauna rental. And to Nancy's point, win-win of I have it to myself! Cleaning seems easy- hose it down and heat it up to sterilize.

C135D1 - I'm calling yesterday a binge. Lunch was garlic toast, baked ziti and a shared apple crisp a la mode. All delicious. I didn't have a creami ready and Janet had chunky monkey ice cream on the brain. She went out for a pint and had most of it, but I had a dish of it. Then late late I started snacking without tracking. Unnecessary and dumb but it's a new day..... Today is table tennis, the gym, a cat scan, hairdresser and dominoes.
Meg - I also loved but stay away from pickle ball - felt like an accident waiting to happen. I'm impessed that you're considering challenging yourself. I was thinking of adding tiny walks and very slowly increasing them. I did one yesterday but i mean tiny - just around our cul de sac. I seem to find all my activities and the gym easier than walking outside though not sure why.
Kathy - Your diet mirrors Dr. Becky's (fasting and fats). She wouldn't be at all surprised at your continued weight loss. I, on the other hand, am doing WW with no results on the scale. I wish I could really stick to it with no exceptions but these events keep coming up and I'm a weakling. It's great to know that cleaning the sauna is no biggie. Sounds like a great investment. To what extent is DH involved?

I had a few too many calories yesterday, but it wasnβt terrible. Nighttime snacking is still haunting me.
I have to agree with avoiding pickle ball. I see soooo many injuries from it, in both young and old.
Nancy, my Apple Watch tracks my active calories for both biking and running, and steps for running. Thereβs quite a bit of data available for outdoor workoutsβ¦.elevation, pace per mile, etc.

Kathy, oh thatβs right, the sauna is a perfect addition to your AirBnB. Definitely check out farro. I had to search a few different stores to find it. Iβm sure I could find it through Whole Foods on Amazon, now that I think about it. I feel very fortunate that I donβt have trouble with addiction. My birth mom died of COPD from 2 packs a day, and my birth father died from severe alcoholism.
