C89. D13. Primal Whole 30 Day 18. BUT- I went to Whole Foods yesterday and stocked up on Whole 30 compliant foods that are NOT good for me. Rx Bars that are 200 calories of dates, cocoa, and almond (I ate 3 🙄). Which led me to think about/buy actual dates (organic of course 🙄, cuz that's better on my blood sugar?). Ate those too. Plus a container of watermelon cubes. Blood sugar SPIKED and is now up 25-30 points and holding.... Sigh.
Meg- I found a way to be compliant with our challenge AND totally feed the sugar monster. I bought a 12 pack of the Rx Bars (sweetener free! Just dates for sweetness). Should I leave them at Mom's? Probably. And also half of the 2# of Medjool dates I bought. Again... Sigh.
Nancy- Good on the 23 points and glad you seem to be giving yourself some grace on the social eating/snacking. How are your lungs doing Nancy?
Jan- we're both adopted and lucky to learn about the health and issues we face biologically.
Lori - sending good thoughts your way for the start of the school year. I'm grateful to not be teaching! I'm done with that at this point in my career.
Taking a medical day off to take Mom to Mayo. Hope to meet a friend at Pannekuken. Reviewed menu and can have an omelet fruit and be compliant with my Whole 30.

C135D3, 23 points, nothing extra. Just table tennis, gym and canasta today, so looking forward to a free afternoon to play catch up and work on puzzle and duets.
Jan - for some reason the small portion was more than sufficient last night. Maybe a little more in that container than the first. I was able to return the 27 servings of frosted sugar cookie and pick up a 5 serving packet on sale with free postage at PE Science. This way I can try it. Hoping to love it as you do.
Kathy - Sounds like the same thing I do on occasion with zero point foods. I've been known to have 2 T of popcorn, for example, just because it's free. My lungs are good. I just downloaded the results of my cat scan. I think the report is good though I don't understand all of it. The doctor will probably call with more clarity. I don't see a hint of cancer which is why I needed a retake. There was some question on the last one but he thought it was just due to the pneumonia. Enjoy your visit with friend and your fruity omelet. Hope all is well with your Mom.

Good morning. Another lovely walk this morning. Today is 24/6 and SF day 61/65.
Kathy: Yeah, those "acceptable" goodies can be just as bad as the sugary ones. I guess my two suggestions are: (1) never eat the dates or date-sweetened stuff alone - always have a good serving of protein with or just before you indulge. (2) Decide on a reasonable portion before you touch the goodies. I have to remind myself that I'm not just getting healthy or losing weight; I want to improve my relationship with food. I don't want my appetite to be the boss of me. I often want a LOT of something, whether I"m full or not. This is changing slowly.
Nancy: Glad you're enjoying your Creami. Enjoy your free afternoon.
Waving to all. Gotta get to work.

Meg - Dried apricots was something I started having and found I was over indulging. Now I no longer have them in the house. And yes, I too want to improve my relationship with food. When I started here my determination was to "get control over this eating thing". Same idea, dontcha think?

Nancy: Yes, totally the same idea. Just easier said than done. I think we often have a goal that looks do-able, but we don't realize how many steps there are in between. And how many mistakes and restarts. We are all living proof of this!
