Is fall a time of year you think of taking stock and starting over? * Not necessarily starting over but perhaps returning to some previously positive and successful routines is in order!
Would you consider making fall resolutions? * Hmm...perhaps...need to ponder what small daily change I might be willing to commit to

The last one seems to be the hardest one. Making changes stick is the tough one for me. I guess that means I'm not really ready to make the change, or it doesn't mean enough to me? As to adding mindfulness, writing or making a vision board, I'd enjoy that (often make lists), yet again, I'm not sure it's ever pushed me.
I've mentioned before that fall and the start of the school year (especially when I was working for the school district) was like a new year for me, as much or more than January 1, so the idea of a fall change or resolution doesn't seem unusual to me.

Sunday school started last week, so if the "beginning of school" is (for all intents and purposes) the "beginning of fall," I guess fall has arrived, but somehow the weather hasn't effected me that way, at least not yet. The leaves on the trees are the same color they were a few weeks ago when the temperatures were in the 90s, just to make one observation (yesterday's high was in the very low 70s as will today's). It doesn't feel like fall. Moreover, I don't make "resolutions." I'm not sure I ever did. However, I do stick to things like eating plans; since joining WW in 2009, I've been conscious of what I eat, and since finding SFT in the middle of 2010, I've learned a completely different way of eating. I learned the basics and still stick to them. I have very rarely binged in my life, and in the last 14 years I think I binged a total of one time (yes, on Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies, 2 servings per box, which is why I banned them from my house). Mindfulness is something else I've learned about, and invoke it much more (not always, but a lot).

Fall seems to be a time for "new beginnings". I think it is because we tend to think more as the weather gets cooler. Maybe more time inside the house & we want to make our home comfortable for the coming cold months?
As a recent widow, I am having to start a lot of things over. I have never lived alone before in my life. It is very different. Of course, DH was in the hospital so many times ove the last couple of years, that I had a taste of being alone. He was so ill for such a long time, that I grew accustomed to making most of the decisions on my own.
I sometimes (too often), make bad decisions when it comes to food, but I always try to rein it in as soon as possible.
