Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Joyce, hope you aren’t too busy at your part time job but I’m sure there will be lots of last minutes purchases. Hope you find a good routine with morning stretches, etc. I need to get back to doing something also.
Ruth, I agree with you about being tired when watching my grandkids. I think your DD is lucky that you and your DH do so much babysitting, including the pick-up and delivery of the kids. That is a lot of work.
Jill, Happy New Year to you and your family. Hope 2017 brings better health to everyone.
We arrived in Florida on Thursday evening, around 6:30. The drive was very long and there was lots of traffic and trucks. My cold is still bad and the drive didn’t help it any. Plus the cough medicine that I took made me sleepy so DH had to do more driving than usual. Yesterday we went grocery shopping and as usual that was expensive, but should be set for the basics. Today we will go to the post office to start mail delivery here. I am very tired but that is because I have been coughing so much and not sleeping well, hopefully I can go sit by the pool this afternoon and let the sun work on this cold. I haven’t had a chest cold in years, the first few days I thought it might go into bronchitis or pneumonia but now I think it is just taking a while to get over it.
Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy 2017. Prayers for all in need, Colleen, John and Cathy and Jill’s family. Also prayers for our FB friends in need.

Wishing everyone a safe and blessed New Years. Joyce - Thank you for always getting this thread started. Are you off these next couple of days? Got any special plans? Dottie - I just posted on the FB CB thread that I thought you should have arrived in FL by now. Sorry to hear that you are feeling poorly. Hope the sun helps suck the nastiness out. Would Muscinex help? RUTH - When will the WI family arrive? What is on the menu? Hope you have a great time. JILL - Hope you didn't get much snow. What job are you working now? The RN's feel that DH's illness is probably sinus related. He does seem to be doing a little better these past couple of days. He doesn't want to try to get out and go anywhere...I even tried to suggest that I could drive us to visit his BFF that lives 130 miles away but he didn't want to even attempt it. I did get him an appt with his oncologist...Jan 11th was the soonest she could get him in and that's with it being double booked. I finally got around to making another batch of banana nut fruitcake bread this morning. Dishes have been done twice, laundry is fairly current, we don't need anything from the grocery so I've veto'd the thought of going to Soulard Market (a big farmer's market in the city). One of my DF's (from the MO WW group) is having TKR surgery on Tuesday. I told her that I'd come by today or tomorrow to learn out their vacuum works and how to empty it. They have horses and a huge dog (Mastiff) and she has allergies that require her to vacuum every 4-5 days. I offered to do it while she recovers and figure I best learn her machine's operation while she is better able to show me. Her DH will have his hands full with his elevator repair job and feeding & caring for the 3 horses, the barn cats, and the 150# inside dog. That dog, btw, doesn't like me. Thunder only likes them and my DF's DSD & future hubby. The first two weeks, she'll stay are her DM's villa since it is on one level. Her DS will come to help, her DM will be in FL. Julie's home is two stories and there is only a half bath on the main level. They have a hospital bed already set up in the family room...ready for her once she does return to the "ranch". I'm thinking about making a pot of chili for today. I have a small boneless, marinated pork roast for tomorrow. Wanted a beef roast but they were so large and pricey compared to this little 1.5# roast for under $7. Well, I've rattled on long enough, I'm off to get dressed and start that chili. May you all have a great weekend.

Good evening everyone,
Working PT job last night was easy. I was on the express register. They had 19 of 21 registers open. It definitely wasn't as busy as everyone expected. It was pretty busy at the dealership today. Time went by quickly.
Dottie - sorry to hear you are still battling that nasty cold.
Cathy - I made chili yesterday. It is delicious. Will probably enjoy for lunch all next week.
Ruth - I'm sure you're watching the game. Best of luck to the Wild.
Jill - I hope you are doing well.
I'm staying in tonight, just watching tv and enjoying some wine. I might buy a sirloin roast tomorrow. I need to get back to cooking more.
Prayers continue for all in need.
Enjoy your evening.

Good evening all. Joy, watching that game and at the moment it's not going well. We are down 3-1!! Enjoy your quiet evening .
Dottie, so happy you made it there safely. Healing vibes coming your way. So many have that cold & it just hangs on! Nasty stuff. Enjoy your time in Florida.
Cathy, company will be here about 10 they think. I'll put a couple roasts in the crockpot tonight and shred for sandwiches in the morning. Bought fruit & veggies for trays, mixed nuts, chips & salsa, pickles & olives, and cookies & cheesecake for dessert. No one should leave hungry!
Jill, hope your DF is doing better. Stay well.
Sandi's birthday is today. And Sandy isn't feeling well. Vendetta still traveling, JT still working too hard, DeeDee (Em) husband having issues, now she's ill. She's still babysitting!
I wish a Happy New Year to each and everyone of you! We will ring it in quietly and may not be up by then.

Happy New Year!!!!
Ruth - thank you so much for the update on the FB CBers. I miss them. Sorry for the results of yesterday's game. I'm sure it's been exciting to watch them, now they can try for another record.
i plan on cleaning out the fridge today. It's time. Will go to the grocery store later and pick up a veggie tray so I can enjoy veggies for snacks this week. I have to start somewhere.
Enjoy your day.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a nice evening.
I'm here sipping on Mimosas and contemplating on what I'll do today. Time to take the Christmas spread off the bed and get it washed and put away....along with other holiday items but perhaps I'll start with the "linens" first. While I'm at it, I get the bedding changed/washed. Refrigerator needs cleaning here, also, Joyce. Trash pick up is in the early a.m. Made a small pot of chili late yesterday and there's just enough left for 2 bowls. I don't usually make a small batch so this is different. May not do the crockpot pork roast thing today...so much stuff already in the frig. We have the two DVD's I got from Redbox yesterday that we haven't watched...need to do that and get them returned by 9.
Ruth - I hope the family has safely arrived and that you are all having a great visit. I have a very yummy recipe for a shredded chicken sandwich...I'll find it and share it here shortly. Something you might want to modify and try in the future. Have you even had Italian Beef...that's another shredded meat that's yummy and easy to make.
I hope everyone has a good NYD.

Joyce, your store must be very big to have 21 registers. Most of the stores by me have 8 to 10 and usually only 1 or 2 open besides the express lane. I’m trying to cook more, I might not make the healthiest food but for the most part it is healthier than eating out. We do tend to eat out more here, more like a vacation. Hope you got your fridge cleaned out.
Ruth, thanks for the update on the FB group. Hope they all have a great 2017, lots happening to them. Hope your company arrived safely and that you had a good visit with your family. Your menu sounds great and easy, gives you more time for visiting instead of just cooking.
Cathy, sorry to hear that John still is in the recovery mode. Hope he feels better soon. Sinus infections can take a long time to get over and antibiotics aren’t always the answer. Sometimes it is mainly waiting. DH went thru a period where he had one or 2 sinus infections every winter and the doctor would give him antibiotics but also suggested some OTC sinus meds to help speed things along. Nice of you to step up on the vacuuming for your friend. Good luck with the puppy. Hope you enjoyed your mimosa. I really don’t like champagne but enjoy an occasional mimosa. When you have time please post those recipes you mentioned.
Hope you all have a wonderful 2017. Jill, hope you get some rest and “Jill” time. Take care, my friend. I had a good day, slept thru the night with only an occasional cough. We went to the pool for about an hour and even got in the water – it felt good. While DH watched the Patriots game I went out and bought a few more groceries. DH was “helping” me when we went shopping the other day and that seems to make me forget things. I spent time going up and down isles and found a few things that I needed that weren’t on my list. We had grilled HBs for dinner – they were great.

I hope everyone had a wonderful first day of 2017!
We had 13 here most of the day. They all got here safely and back home in the same condition! Only DIL was missing, apparently not feeling well after their party last night. And it doesn't seem to matter to her if she misses family events (and DDs don't like her so they don't miss her!) and she is either on her phone or sleeping when she does come, so I don't miss her! (Rant over!)
I got the dishwasher run, garbage and recycling taken care of, and the dining room put in order. Just need to unload the dishwasher and take care of the gift bags everyone left. Fold them up and put back with the other wrapping supplies. Tomorrow morning we will take down the trees and put away all those decorations and a few others. And I've recycled most of today's paper. More tomorrow.
Prayers continue for Carol, Danny, John, Sandy, Mr. Malish, Colleen, and all others with health issues.
