Good Morning - MOTIVATED MONDAY! Yesterday went well. Took my water bottle, which Tracy refilled when she saw it was empty! So I got my water!! I did take wine, so Kathy & I shared a bottle. It's all good - back to AF today! My goal is AF, M-Th, and allow myself some on the weekends. We'll see how it goes.
I also did good on eating! My salad was delish, with cottage cheese, black beans, and turkey. Yes there was some Chex Mix, but not a lot! YAY! I did bring some home, but only a small baggie of it. Totally trackable! I chose not to step on the scale today, but will tomorrow.
Today I will get my water, and got my movement. I am re-cleaning my upstairs hallway! Right now it is filled with Tracy's stuff! Once again, we hauled it from out back to the hallway, for her to take home. Well, here we are months later, and it is still here. SO, DH & I will cart it to the attic. When/IF she decides she wants it, we'll have to drag it back down. I need organization around here! LOL So eventually we will haul all her stuff that is still out back, UP to the attic. With what WE want to store in OUR back rooms, it is getting overcrowded and cluttered. The first step to getting my SPACE back, is getting her stuff out of there. So the decision has been made. Yup, more work for us right now, but it will feel good to have ALL her STUFF in one place! That one place will be THE ATTIC!
In thinking about my first year of retirement... I have not gotten the organizing done that I want to do. This first year is almost over! SO, now is the time. By I want my space upstairs to be accessible for me to get my scanning started!
Anyway - sorry... rambling again.
Sue: Sorry you had "a week". Hopefully you got some downtime yesterday, to be ready for the month end coming this week. Fingers crossed it doesn't get out of hand this month! So glad fall baseball is over. While the bleacher seats aren't as comfortable as a camp chair, at least you won't be freezing! Oh yes, my sister Mary said the best thing about being 70 is No Jury Duty! Curious, why not eat with your friends? I am sure you will figure out insurance and med coverage. Ken's med has jumped a LOT for 2025, so he's back to comparing again. I need to go on to BC/BS and see if I can figure mine out. If I can't I'll have to call.
LOL I love my heated steering wheel too. Last week my hands were cold, and I had forgotten I had that now! It felt good when I did remember! Yes, my egg rings came from Amazon, they aren't quite big enough for my usual eggs, but I will adjust the amount of egg white going forward. I also need to let them heat up more, so the egg doesn't run out the bottom! I used to love getting the employee benefit statement we got each year. Adding it all up and doing the math, we were making darned good money!!
Jenny: Oh good idea to get a craft table set up for yourself. THAT"S WHAT I am doing too! LOL I want a table set up, upstairs, out back, where I can go and do some and then leave it, and get back when I want. My kids gave me a craft table years ago, but it hasn't been set up for several years now! Oh I do hope your folks can get into a place and live for years. {{{hugs}}} Who knows, with less stress of housing, it could extend their lives.
Yes, we still have nice weather, by Thursday we are supposed to be back to the 70s! Back in 2011 (?) Halloween was all but cancelled around here due to a severe snow storm, loss of power, lots of downed trees! Such a change.
I can totally relate to your DM! LOL I have to change a few spending habits around here for sure! LOL After year 1 of retirement, I need to look ahead... I was always the one who assumed retirement, SS, pension, 401k, and we would be set for life! LOL Oh my God how different reality is! UGH!
OK Hope you all have a great MOTIVATED Monday!
♥hugs♥

Evening all...finally getting a chance to pop in...got back late from our lunch....we sat and visited, some of us for almost 3 hours...we had our own room so it was fun!! By the time we got home, I still had one last load of laundry to do and was exhausted so unplugged and vegged for the evening. Work was the usual Monday "busy" and with month end this week we are just trying to keep ahead of the orders....one more MEAP should drop tomorrow...it's only 271 so will day most of a day but tomorrow is only Tuesday so all is fine if it drops tomorrow...will get a little tight if it doesn't drop until Wednesday but still doable.
Yesterday when we were with the Y gang I was chatting with TC about insurance....she goes on Medicare November 1st and had been paying for her own insurance since she sold her gymnastics center to her son, yes, she worked for the Y and her sons both competed for the Y because few gyms have men's gymnastics programs but owned Skyline Gymnastics, a competing gym! All good and she worked for us too because staff got a 25% discount on monthly fees!! Heck, that's why I started at the Y too!! Anyway, when she sold the gym to Kevin and went only PT teaching a few classes of preschool gymnastics she no longer qualified for insurance. Her first husband passed away several years ago and when she remarried, Jim was already on Medicare. She said she got a high deductible plan for just under $500...that makes me hopeful that I too can find something cheaper than COBRA. Will find out on December 10th. My current plan is high deductible so sounds perfect.
Gabrielle...thanks for starting us off on Saturday...I'm sure your run went well and you know your body so will only run the marathon if you feel your body is ready and you can do it safely. Hope Tyler did run with you on Saturday....I'm sure he appreciates your moral support too! UGH...doesn't sound like DB has been much help while he visited....sorry you still had to pick up some of the slack for him. Hope this recent episode doesn't delay the ablation. Glad you have opted to go on your trip...yes, Max and Tyler can lend a hand if need be...you might have mentioned but how far away from home will you be???
Well, Jason didn't need to work on Saturday....was able to stay a little later on Friday to get things ready for Monday...but today was still a disaster for him, 2 people called in so one of his two people that put away for him had to pull orders and the other wasn't going to get everything done because it was a lot, then 2 orders supposed to come tomorrow arrived today so he had to scramble to find locations and get them processed for putting away!
Have to say both Jason and I are pulling for the Dodgers....we are NOT Yankee fans!! Really hoping LA can keep it together and will at least one in NY....maybe clinch the title so the obnoxious Yankee fans will shut their mouths!! Drive me nuts. I know you are not LA fans but still.....you can't want the Yankees to win!!
Will say that today I'm finally feeling more "back to normal" since our trip! Oh, I texted Hannah to see how she was feeling....she started to feel lousy the final weekend we were there and Monday when we left she was MISERABLE....she said she's on Day 11 and still doesn't feel great...the cough is still hanging on....hope she soon shakes it! Apparently walking pneumonia is going around the area and she's questioning whether or not that is what she has/had???
Carole...you sure had a full Saturday....had to laugh, the first thought that came to my mind when you mentioned Eden and Jaclyn going to lunch with someone else was "how rude"!! You get invited to come see her perform but then they basically "blow you off"....how odd that Tim was not included either?? I think I would be with you on calling it a day and curling up to watch TV!! Sounds like a perfect plan!!

UGH...just lost the start of my post.....
Christine....I will say I haven't burned a candle since I started using oils and now with freshly plastered and soon painted ceilings I'm glad diffusers won't make dark smokey smudges on my ceilings....I'm currently enjoying a Chai Blend and "Cozy Cabin"....YL has seasonal blends that I love....soon Christmas Spirit time...I love that one!! I sometimes put in it in July just because I love the smell!! They have Clean Linen that is perfect in the bathroom and a Lucious Lemon I use in the kitchen a lot!! Will say when I look out the patio doors I see colored leaves but most are still on trees. Even driving by the lake 50% of the leaves, at least, are still on the trees. I'm thinking that after our couple days of Indian Summer on Wednesday and Thursday the temps will drop to "normal" and the leaves will drop a lot....but then it's November on Friday and we usually have mostly bare trees by now! Everything was much later this year, color, leaf drop.....just an odd season but the colors are awesome! Jason usually mows/mulches most of the leaves in our yard but sometimes if he needs leaves to work into some place in the garden he just rakes them onto a blanket or piece of plastic, then drags and drops them in the garden. Thankfully no bagging needed!
I already have my massage scheduled for the Saturday after Thanksgiving...I think it's the 7th!! Massage and the occasional pedicure are two luxuries I will not be giving up in retirement if I need to pinch a penny or two! LOL!! I will say that Holly can really work out the stiffness and aches with only massage....she also offers CBD oil for a little extra and I started using it a few massages ago and it really makes a difference....the positive effects of the massage start sooner w/o any soreness that sometimes happen if she works hard to get a "kink" out and also lasts longer.....I use CBD rubs at home too and they really work well for me!
Yes Christine Jason is still working hard...that is just who he is but now that we have retirement dates written in stone, he is ready to be done....we are both just muddling through these las couple months. He has actually told his boss that January 17th is his last day!!
Hang in there with Virginia...not sure you will ever figure out what makes her tick??? Make the offer of help and if she turns you down, just let it go. Yes, she might come back with some snide remark about her not getting any help but you will know you tried!! LOL, Gloria and I were talking one day last week about cassettes and old VHS videos and how we would love to listen to them or watch but afraid whatever machine we used would "eat them"!! Never know what the years does to those things....heck, they some times got eaten when they were fairly new and the "technology of the day"! Glad you kept the two hats and some of your dad's things....I have some things that I will never use but just seeing them brings happy memories to cherish!!
Ah yes....with so many choices, best to let Ben pick what he wants....sometimes gift cards are the way to go even though they sometimes seem impersonal. I got Hannah and Shea each something fun...the mugs and the beer tasting glasses but their big gift was footing the bill for their bulbs and bushes for the new house.
LOL....I'll have to check out Heartland...I had heard it was good and didn't realize it was so long running!
Jenny....maybe once your DM finds out the market value of the house she will feel better about the contract on Bonaventure, I know that's her choice. DS and DBIL need to butt out! Not their $$, not their choice.....your folks worked for their $$ and as long as they can financially do it without really stretching them thin too soon...it is no one's choice but theirs. Yes, they need some guidance, like you are providing so they see the whole picture of what $$ they have and what they truly can afford but this is not about saving $$...it's about them using what is saved and their assets to live out their lives the way they choose!
OK....off my soap box!! I already warned my girls....they are getting no big inheritance....we saved and worked for our retirement and they will be getting the house and all the crap left in it!
OK....got a few things to do before calling it a night....
Gabrielle....hopefully you are safe and sound enjoying time with friends.
Jo....hope life is calm and Steve is not making more waves....pop in and let us know you're OK!!
Karen....I see like is hectic. Hope you can find a little time to pop in and catch us up on what's been keeping you so busy!!
Waves all...sweet dreams!
