Happy November! Just a quickie to start the thread for anyone popping in this month. I know it's the 3rd and I'm still working on my November goals LOL! To handle the anxiety with election day so close I'm avoiding the internet as much as possible and distracting myself with nonproductive bingeing. What I should be doing is purging stuff!! Did drop off the ballots today so that is done. Waves to all. YES I CAN: Keep up my exercise program this month, keep tracking, and make some progress on moving the scale down. Get outside more this month. Be positive! Focus on weights and stretching. That's a lot of strive for Take care! Nat

Good Monday morning! πππΏ Thanks, Nat, for starting the November thread! I'm with you on avoiding internet & TV...it is definitely making me crazy and keeping me from sleeping well. We also voted early but the endless, doom-filled emails and text messages begging for more, more, more $$$ haven't stopped!
My one big goal/focus for November: Let go of the things that no longer serve me, that don't bring me joy. Also want to keep working on strength training. Aiming for 3 times this week.
Yesterday I DID: --get out to church & a quick grocery run --check on Old House, do some bookkeeping --long neighborhood walk, enjoying the autumn colors
Yes I CAN: --schedule time for strength training --stay calm and focused --wind down early and NOT go down the rabbit hole

Well, other than a horrible nightmare...uh..take a deep breath....I'm ok.
Yesterday I DID --enjoy lunch with retiree pals. Was surprised that many were voting on the actual election day, as there had been so many long lines during early voting around here. --stop at a park not far from home intending to have a short walk, went to an area I don't normally go and discovered some new (to me) trails meandering along a creek, some beautiful fall foliage, very summer-like weather. I opted to follow the "coyote den trail". It was such a lovely trail! That walk in nature made an otherwise stressful day, on balance, not so bad. --enjoy guitar class. It continues to be a pot pourri of technique. I feel like I'm learning and it is also a lot of fun. I actually look forward to "practicing" whenever I have a few minutes. --avoid watching any TV or YouTube, couldn't bear it. I knew no matter the outcome of the election I would feel stressed out and exhausted. Instead, I listened to a sleep meditation with lots of positive affirmations.
Yes I CAN: --continue to create my goals for November...positivity is way up there on the list. --do some strength training and get outside for a walk --relax and not get sucked into doom and gloom

Yesterday I DID: --declutter: old (mostly junkmail) piles of paper; expired food in pantry --enjoy an impromptu movie matinee with my sweetie. "The Wild Robot" π€animated, cute. --neighborhood walk before dinner (it gets dark so early now!) enjoying the warm weather
Yes I CAN π¦Ύ: --continue decluttering (it feels energizing....clearing out can be freeing!) --practice cello & tap for classes on Friday --wind down earlier, still need to avoid the gloom/gloating on the internet

Yesterday I DID: --get adjusted at chiropractor --grocery run, no junk --walk another trail in nearby park....this trail climbs a hill overlooking an old quarry, lots of fall foliage, beautiful
Yes I CAN: --practice for my lessons....been goofing off this week --stay positive & upbeat --wind down earlier!

TGIFriday positive peeps! Carol, I was right there with you on Wednesday. Actually I probably slept only a couple hours and then had to drive down for my doctor's appointment and was fasting. My NSV was stopping eating by 6pm and no stress eating on election night. I did not visit any of my Youtube sites, off FB, Twitter, etc. I really am not ready to be still seeing him every single day, ad nauseum for the next 4 years. Deep breaths!
On a good note, my blood work this week showed my A1c and cholesterol go back down after last year's highest numbers. A1c still in prediabetic range at 5.8 and they want me to check again in 3-6 months. Funny when it hit 6 last year, no one reviewed it to have me back LOL. Nice to know someone reviewed labs this time.
Carol I bet the leaves are beautiful. We are having some chilly weather but I have seen some of the leaves driving up and down the mountain a few times last week. With the winds these past few days, I'm sure they are all over the ground now LOL. Hubby says they are starting to blow snow on the slopes already. Time flies...
Yes I CAN: Finish off with some stretches tonight. Add back and hip stretching exercises into my day, doctor strongly suggests! The 60s are the osteoarthritis years I guess lol Finish tracking tonight. Try for some good sleep tonight....might need help of Tylenol PM

Yesterday I DID: --enjoy Tap class, 'though I hadn't practiced at all...I do enjoy the positive vibe in that class, good people, good energy --finally practice cello a little, had a good lesson --only walk indoors, as it was VERY windy all day. I was glad I had gone on my "foliage walks" on those trails earlier in the week. Lots of leaves are down after the windstorm.
Yes I CAN: --do some lawn work today: mowing/mulching all those beautiful leaves that are all over the yard. Just need to grind them up a bit so they can stay on the lawn and garden areas --declutter more of the thousands of emails in my inbox --wind down/meditate before bedtime

Happy Sunday positive peeps! Carol, always a good thing to be around positive energy. I'm glad you so involved in good for your soul things and having fun. LOL on the thousands of emails....I think I'm up to over 16,000 I just have neglected to go through and sift through. I have no desire for the time it will take LOL, not to mention more sitting than I already do. I'm just waiting for it to just to explode and no longer my problem Yes I CAN: Get out for a walk (done...but cut a tiny bit short when coyotes up ahead of me started one by one crossing my path. Five total) Track food (right after eating it) and stay in range Get my stretching in. Pick up some weights today Have a great Sunday! Nat

Yesterday I DID: --enjoy cello choir. We might be performing at a holiday concert at the music school, so I'd better practice more! --quick grocery trip; then some indoor walking only as it was raining again, on and off --have late dinner, didn't wind down early enough but DID try to listen to a meditation.
Yes I CAN: --work on mindset, maybe listen to some affirmations --get outside for fresh air --wind down earlier

Yes I DID: --enjoy being pampered at the beauty shop: hair color & style (smooth for a few hours, LOL!) --enjoy seeing deer resting & strolling in our backyard most of the afternoon --love guitar class, always fun, always learn something

It's been cold overnight, so birdies have been devouring the seeds more than usual. I put out a suet block and it is almost gone!
Yes I DID: --lovely walk at the old golf course/park on Wed.; indoor walking Thurs. --grocery run. Mostly good, but couldn't resist a muffin... --Home Depot for a number of things, including new faucet handle for kitchen sink --wind down to listening to some non-political YouTube about great singers...
Yes I CAN: --practice --stay calm and focused --wind down earlier!

Yes I DID: --enjoy Tap class, always fun, but I never seem to have time to practice, so don't really progress much, LOL! --good cello lesson. I did practice and I did feel like I made some progress. --brave a huge traffic jam downtown (must have been some big sporting event or concert somewhere...) to get to a faculty concert at the music school. We are lucky to have some very talented musicians here.
Yes I CAN: --get outside for a hike. Weather is cool and sunny today, yay! --remember to take a breath when I feel overwhelmed by stress --declutter a few minutes and let it be good enough

Yesterday I DID: βWW Zoom meeting, (at home WI was up 2#!). Good news is they revisited the β54321β method for reducing stress. The main idea is to focus on the now, rather than worry about the past or the future. It does work, I just need to do it! βenjoy a hike in one of my favorite new nature preserves, the forever wild forest trails. The scouts are working on a couple new trail in it, yay! βsleep well but could have used a couple more hours. Needs work.
Yes I CAN: βdeclutter βfinish a little financial chore (I do it only once a year, so I forget what to do & have to retrain myselfβ¦this time I am documenting how to do itπ βwind down EARLIER
