Jenny: Are you selling the saddles? Or are they treasures to keep? Cool one was your Grampas.
Christine: We were in the high 70s yesterday, already 73 here now! But our new President Elect, says there is no climate change! We are having trouble with our furnace! Of all things, now the front zone won't shut off! It is over 80 in here right now. I shut the whole damn furnace off, I just won't use hot water right now! OYE VEY! Seriously the thermostat is set at 50, the room temp is 80 and the baseboards are still throwing off heat! UGH! This is the zone that 2 weeks ago wasn't heating, now it won't shut off!
WOW, good for Carly! I'd have been intimidated too! Yikes, Being so new to the job, yet they dump more on Linds. I guess they know she CAN do it? However, as one that was "dumped on" so many times, I hope for her sake the doubled up cases ends soon!
WORK IT WEDNESDAY... How will YOU Work it today??? I will be doubling up my water intake, tracking (again) and being mindful of movement. I will do the 2nd coat of paint on the kitchen ceiling. I have windows and doors open to cool it off in here, as I can't even think about doing anything with it so hot in here!
Yesterday we walked to the school to vote. Then over to the bridge and back. It was a 1.2 miles. MAN it was hot walking! I was dressed for fall, and surely should have had a t-shirt or sleeveless! But man did the sun feel good. I have someone coming today to look at the tree that has been cut down. I posted it on FB, and had several comments of friends that will take it. So if this logging company wants to charge me to take it, I'll tell him no thanks, and let someone else come get it. I am honestly nervous about what our nicely planted lawn will look like when it's gone! Hearing those HUGE logs being dropped, made me almost cry.
OK Time to get the day started. I do have my call with Kait today, at 11, so need to be ready for that.
♥hugs♥

Good afternoon!
Well, I have been busy since early this morning, but seemed to get delayed getting on here---I did have a 7:30 am Executive Committee Zoom though so that put a kink in some morning routines. I guess I was spending a lot of time looking at election results (not for President but local school boards, etc.) We have a movement in this county for people to run for school boards and then attempt to control all of the reading material in the library, ban certain topics in science, etc. They call it "back to basics"-- uggh. Anyway....
It is nice here today...it was so windy last night and low 40s this morning but about 51 now and what I would hope for on a nice, fall day. DH's neck still hurts (but he thinks it is a little better). I did see if he could get into the doctor's office---not until after Thanksgiving!! So I talked to the local Urgent Care and they said that they do xrays --- we will go there tomorrow if it isn't feeling much better. I did call the surgical group that did his spinal fusion 8-9 years ago and they asked about x-rays so we will find a way.
Carole: Wow, now you have heat that won't shut off?? Uggh! We are getting our heat pump/AC unit replaced this Friday--I hope to see some savings on the electric bill. I hope that you can get yours fixed...I forgot it was tied to your hot water. Good for you getting that walk in yesterday and being sure that Ken gets his walk in too! Yep, sounds like layers might be your plan for next time. I meant to tell you that the big topic on the news a few evenings back was Dean Butler being nearby for a book signing....he went to University of the Pacific (UOP) in Stockton, just south of Sacramento. He was speaking there and signing books. I was thinking about you all and how good he was when you saw him. Good job on your tracking-- ME TOO! I was good yesterday and I am on track today too. I drank so much water yesterday and haven't been quite as good today but better than in the past. Thanks for getting us going today and hope that you have a good day and your lawn bounces back from being pounded by the trees falling. And there is NO way they should charge you! They sell it and should add expenses onto their sale price.

Jenny: I LOVE that you have that tack and saddle equipment at your house! I am so WOWED about your dad's history--being part of the rodeo circuit (I remember first hearing that from you in Galveston). And your grandfather's saddle too? How cool! I hope that your week is going well and you feel like you are being supported (at least by one sister) and things are moving forward.
Christine: Wow, glad that Carly and Ben were out early voting. Uggh, we have Proud Boys around here too...so unsettling. I am bummed to hear that Linds still is not enjoying her job. I am glad that she is giving it a chance and that she is learning to share concerns with her boss(es) --and it sounds like they listen. If she ends up resigning, she will do it knowing that she was a good communicator. Wow, you are plowing through the reports!! Good for you--so much work! I hope that today is a good day for you.
Sue: It looks like you have a longer day with the eye appointment....hang in there!
Okay, I am going to get moving and take care of a few more things around here. Hope that you all have a good afternoon.

Checking in quickly before leaving for errands and dinner. Feeling very unsettled about the Election and not just the Office of President but Congress and the Supreme Court. No guard rails is the reality. I felt better listening to the concession speech at Howard University..my takeaway is: We don’t owe loyalty to a President or to a Party, but to our Constitution.
I found that made sense.
Work went well - I’m staying focused on my responsibilities to meet the many deadlines. Engaged in a few intelligent conversations about the Election results. It was good to hear from others and listen to thoughtful perspectives.
Tomorrow after work is my massage and I’m really looking forward to relaxing afterwards with Lindsey and our Girls Night watching our shows 😊 I can’t get over how warm the weather is and so unlike the season. It’s dark outside so fast!
