Sorry--dead horse.
I got a FitBit Charge 2 for Christmas and I love it but...
It seems I got FitPoints credit for my steps AND for a 30 min walk (which--steps). Has anybody ever found a fix for this double tracking, or should I just keep an eye on my FitPoints math of I decide to use the FitPoints for food?

Check your settings and makes sure you did not set it to count walking. If you do you get the double counting. I had the same problem.

It gives you less FP's for the steps when it also counts your activity.

It gives you less FP's for the steps when it also counts your activity. That makes no sense lol. Somehow I have 9 fit points from 6K steps (29 mins walking). Does that seem right?

It depends on how many calories you burned with your Fitbit I think.I also have the Charge 2 but since I had it synced to FB it was giving me points for every activity I did in addition to the steps. For 30 min of walking it would give me 3 FP but I also do other things like going to Curves and so when it came to giving me FP for my steps it didn't give me the right FP for the amount of steps. So last night I unsynced it and decided to add my steps manually. It seems to give me too many FP the other way.

Well shoot. I wanted the Charge 2 so I would have an HRM for accuracy. I should have known WW would screw it up.

Yes you don't check walking and yes you could possibly have a lot of FP' s compared to the old PP. I don't eat mine but it ends up being a very high number in my estimation.

You do burn more calories with higher intensity walking. You are being double counting because one of two things is likely happening:
1. You logged the activity of walking on Fitbit. For awhile WW was double counting for the activity walking (what you see in your activity log) plus the steps from the walking. A few months ago, they stopped doing that. Let's say you walked 10,000 steps during the day but 5000 were during your logged walk. You would get FitPoints based upon the logged walk (these would vary based upon your calorie burn and the HRM does help make that more accurate). Then for your steps for the day, WW would count it as if you had walked 5000 steps for the day so it didn't double count. (But maybe this isn't working right now if people are getting double counting again).
2. Another possibility is you have your Fitbit set to automatically track and recognize walking as an activity In that situation, Fitbit recognizes the activity as a walk and logs it. Theoretically WW should not be double counting as above, but I've found that sometimes this does lead to double counting. So I set my Fitbit so it wouldn't automatically log an activity.

It gives you less FP's for the steps when it also counts your activity. This is the correct answer. WW translates your activity and steps into Fitpoints. It does not track double because the more structured exercise you do, the fewer points you get for steps. Today I got 11 points for a walk (over an hour) yet only 3 points when I went over 10,000 steps. FYI, when the tracker is tracking double, it literally tracks double steps and exercise. That's a bug. But ordinarily, WW can see your steps and calorie burn. They award points based on those factors. ETA: I also have a Charge 2 an upgrade from my Charge HR. WW has always counted Fitbit activity in similar ways.
