Good morning! Thanks for starting us Amy!
Mo, in case you didn't see it -impressive NSV yesterday!!!
I ended up going to the gym after work yesterday but just used the weight machines. Then I stopped at the lake and walked 3 miles. Then this morning as I was driving into the gym for the 5:45am spinning class, I decided that since I was really late (it would be after 6:00am by the time I got to the gym and then still had to set up the bike and change shoes), I went to the lake instead and walked another 3 miles. This time I added a 1 minute jog every 1/2 miles. I am SO tired of gimping around and missing out on walking and running that I've just decided screw it! I going to walk and run and I don't care if it hurts!
Of course what I've discovered last week and this week at the chiropractor, is that my leg muscles are just a mass of super tightness and knots. The chiropractor did some deep tissue massage last Friday and again this past wednesday and the diffence in my knee is amazing. Of course by the next day after I've walked it's tight again but slightly less.
My old chiropractor had a chiropractor on staff who specialized in trigger point massage. I was going to him regularly for a couple of years and was able to drop back from weekly sessions to once every 3 weeks. The great thing was he charged $20 for 15 minute sessions instead of having to go to a massage place that only does hour long appointments for $80-$100 dollars at a time. But Dr. Wilson's wife landed her dream job in the Washington D.C. area and they relocated, waaaaaahh! That was about 2 years ago and since then I had a broken rib, then right foot surgery which took out my left knee again when I was on crutches and that boot. That's a lot of time to build up muscle problems since I still manage to be fairly active.
