The Mind☯Body☯Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Getting stronger everyday. I've been doing karate for the past 2 years (Currently a 2nd KYU Brown Belt. One more rank and much time before black belt). The art has improved my overall flexibility and balance. Most changes mentally. It has giving me more confidence than I've ever had before.
Daily Affirmation: I'm stronger today than yesterday.

Good morning!
Welcome to the group, Ale8! Congratulations on your hard work and discipline at karate. That is quite an achievement. And, beyond its physical benefits, it sounds like its been a fantastic experience. I hope you'll tell us more.
Lisa: The book The Tao of Nutrition is written by Mashing Ni. smile.amazon.com/gp/product/1887575251/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Michelle: I am sorry to hear you're experiencing the fires yet again this season. I remember this from last year - you building the fire break (I believe that is what it was called?). Stay safe.
So, after reading the weekend chatter and reading about some of you reestablishing your good eating-habits, I find myself swept up in the renewed WW (et al) commitment and spirit. I have been struggling for months on end - after such a long run of good habits and good results. I know it was the health-issues (thought to be gastric/food-sensitivity, at the time) in the Fall that derailed me; I just need to find, within myself, what gave me the motivation to so solidly commit to WW back in March, 2016. I don't want to regain the weight!
Waves to all who venture by! BBL.
Daily Affirmation: Be present every moment rather than looking to some future moment. Focus in the passion of the doing now, in the present moment. Fitness Report: Hours of functional fitness out in the garden yesterday. Health Goal: Try some new green smoothies, filled with good veggies and fruits. Gratitude: For a place to plant my thoughts, affirmations, and gratitudes.

Welcome ale8, I'm quite impressed by your recent achievement! I've never tried karate. You are inspiring me for sure!
I am happy to say I am really excited about re-committing to strength training. It changed my life years back and I'm ready for a positive change once again.
so far today I've gotten off to a real slow start. Note to self: Get off your duff and get moving Lisa!!!

Good afternoon friends and welcome to the check-in, Ale8!! Happy to have you aboard. I am happy for you that you've found karate and all the benefits it has added to your life.
Good job on staying the course, Cathy!
I chatted with DH about our eating - even though we aim to eat healthfully and do good at that, there are still tweaks. One, we eat way to much cheese. Especially him, but I'm the meal preparer and it's time to find ways to painlessly cull it out of his diet.
I don't see us doing 100% on Eat for Life - DH will never give up meat. I'm aiming for 60% for him and 80% for me. If it nudges us toward 100%, all the better.
Waves to Suzanne, Carol and Lisa - Michelle best wishes with the fires. So scary!
Daily Affirmation - I'm worth some extra chopping in the kitchen.
Fitness Report - yoga and an after-dinner walk.
Health Goal - get some answers at my naturopath visit this afternoon.
Gratitude - All the beautiful local vegetables near me.

Welcome, Al. If you have a name you would rather be called let us know. Congrats on the Karate achievement! Pat, Your affirmation is perfect--so true that we are worth the extra time. Speaking of extra time I am worth the time spent at my Monday WW meeting heading there in a bit. WW works!!! I was below goal at WI last week and intend on doing some clean up work on my thinking habits. This amnesia develops if I don't stay on top of my program. Right now I am working on the ideas proposed in the Beck Diet Solution book. Also reading what the ladies have to say on the Beck board. They are on Day 16 of the book. All this is helpful for WW strength training and maintenance of those well honed mental muscles. Afterall, IMO it all begins with my thought processes. Affirmation: Go team, GO!!!!!!!!!!!! H & F Goal: Made a dentist appointment. Spiritual goal: Contemplate simplicity. Gratitude: This life. Waving Onward>>>>>>>

Just found this while looking at affirmations online... Mahatma Ghandi has a famous quote that outlines how your beliefs shape your destiny. He is quoted as saying: “Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.” Daily Affirmation: I am taking responsibility for my health by keeping a journal and staying OP. (found this one online: I embrace the infinite possibility of today. I am enthusiastic about life & ready to take inspired action on my goals! ) Fitness Goal or report: At the moment my focus is on food - the exercise will follow Health Goal: Balanced diet, stay OP, journal everything Gratitude: grateful for this group to help me focus ale8oneboy: I am impressed with your commitment to Karate and the success you have had. Suzanne: I am starting day 4 back OP. I know Wednesday will be a challenge BUT I have been to goal weight in 1984 and 1998/9 so know I can do it again. I know you can, too. Not sure what it takes or how it comes about but when "the click" happens it is a wonderful thing missbliss: I will be getting back into strength training in the future...food first then exercise to follow. Weight training makes a HUGE difference! NatureLover: I started with the idea of Meatless Monday and then tried a program that was a 21 day vegan challenge - I did not last the 21 days. I understand about the cheese - it is tasty and adds so much - including calories Good luck! Michelle: I am doing the BBR thing on one of the boards - don't have the book but am finding the group (and this one) a help. Still learning my way around affirmation Everyone else...have a great day!
