We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

You know, the fact that now JA is blaming the Secret Service for Donnie Jr stupidity is such a slap in the face of the agency that spends every second of the day protecting him & now his family. These men & women will literally take a bullet to save JA life even when he trash talks, blames, etc the Secret Service, the CIA, FBI & all other Intel Agencies. The fact that he doesn't even know how the government & its agencies work is bad enough but to play the finger pointing blame game is just damn wrong!

He has no honor, and neither do any of his family or minions. Evidently from what I've read (and watched on TV ) even the Mafia has a code of honor of some kind even if it is a warped one. But these people have absolutely no sense of honor whatsoever. That the SS would lay down their lives for him and/or his family means nothing to them. They truly believe they are simply entitled to that not even because of his role as President, but they believe they are entitled to it simply because they exist. They have nothing but disdain for anyone or anything else. I'm glad the SS is speaking out and pointing out the lie in that Jr was NOT under SS protection at the time of this meeting. Not that it would have been the SS's place to prevent the meeting in the first place. They don't determine the actions of their protectees, just try to protect them when the unthinkable happens. And the RNC has paid $50,000 for Jr's lawyer! What's up with that?!! Yet some little low level follower will eventually end up going bankrupt paying for his/her own legal bills because of being associated with all this disgusting mess. You've got to really be addicted to power or being close to power to associate yourself with anyone in this administration. As for postponing the healthcare vote for McCain, just one more example of Republicans talking tough but falling into line. Susan Collins seems to be about the only person they have with a spine. Rand Paul, but then he's pretty far out there. McCain has openly said this bill does not bode well for the people of AZ, yet clearly McConnell knows he is going to vote in favor of it or he would not postpone the vote for him.

And Tweety says he's going to be "very angry" if the healthcare bill fails. What's that supposed to be? Some kind of threat?

Biden is going to have an "American Promise Tour," ostensibly to promote his new book. Do you think this is also in anticipation of a presidential run? I like Biden, but it seems unlikely to me that he would be the best choice for the next candidate. I think he needs to continue to speak up and fill the role of an elder statesman, but I believe his time to represent the party as a presidential candidate has passed. I'd like to see him go out with his head high and with the respect he has earned, and not as a losing candidate. So I hope this is just to promote his book and make his voice heard, but nothing more.

I agree about Biden...I just don't want to see him have to get down in the mud ( nice word for another word I had in mind) ...the next presidential run is going to nasty & brutal, now that JA has set the bar for that. I like Biden & his good common sense approach & ease with people from all walks of life. Would love to see him be President, but I think his time has passed, too..
Well, as for those who's lawyers fees won't be taken care of by JA, I have mixed feelings. They accepted these jobs eyes wide open & if things are not going the way they thought, then they should walk out the door eyes wide open & avoid the mess. They knew what he was like before & it's been 6 months now & it's worse, so, if they are choosing to stay because of some distorted feeling of loyalty, then it's on them. But yes, those that can't afford this will be slammed hard because JA & his family will slither away scot free to under the nearest rock..

True, Linda. They signed up for the ride, and they have to accept the consequences. It's not like the kind of person he is was any secret.

I sure hope this is not true...but, I'm thinking it's more than possible it is. "Sad" that if this does happen, no one cared enough to stop it. Hoping someone will try tho. UGH! So sick & tired of JA destroying this this country...😡
