Well, time to catch up... "Simple Saturday"... anything BUT "simple" but I had such a great day!!
I got so much DONE, but all on my own... just enjoyed my day! Managed an earlier dinner... then movie night... then at 9:15 Eden, Tracy & my sisters headed to the mountain for a "Torch Light Parade" down the slopes... I could actually see it from my bedroom...so Zoë & I watched it too! :-)
Sunday was a bit more stressful, but still a good day with both girls... then the game - the buffet dinner...all cleaned up and headed upstairs at 6:00 PM! LOL I was just "D.O.N.E." so I went up to relax - read and fell asleep early... had to get an early start this morning!
Now my time with Eden is winding down, she had lunch with Tracy and Grampa... then Tracy is taking her home - I think I will enjoy the peaceful house this afternoon!!
Gabrielle: I do NOT see you as someone who is "set in their ways"! LOL you are so adventurous, compared t so many of us here!
Yes I too need to be more mindful around the side dishes...but think I managed OK... one meal, one day... not enough water... today is another day!
Hope DS17 sees the opportunities at hand {{{{{hugs}}}}} Oh MY Guess I am lucky my DH WILL eat leftovers... actually he eats pretty much anything we decide to have!!
WOW What a long trek for DH to drive CA-FL in the motorhome!
Sue: YAY for getting the calendar done for DD...and I am willing to BET there will be no negative comments from her about hers! ♥
Jo: We are kind of cold here now, with "weather" coming in this week, probably for the morning commute!! I WILL be freezing the leftovers from yesterday... we can pull them out the next time everyone is here... to be honest, even knowing they are in the freezer... they don't "call to me" so that's "safe"...
LOL NYD is LEFTOVERS here! No "traditions" to keep up with!
Shelly: Aww, sorry DGD BD party wasn't more festive for her {{{{hugs}}}} I know it's always hit or miss with my kids cousins too!
I can't wait to hear how everyone's NYE celebrations were...

Well THAT was an interruption! LOL Made DH sit here and order the furniture WITH me!! Nothing over the top - but chairs that will look nice AND be functional! DH recliner sort of "reclines" before he even sits in it! LOL My recliner the foot sometimes goes up - sometimes not! I opted for a nice chair with matching storage ottoman... and DH went for the recliner (again)...
Now DH is researching Disney trips! For next April... 40th anniversary - we want to take all the kids to celebrate with us ♥
Jo: OK What's WITH the black eyed peas?? Is it a tradition of some sort? Sorry you had to run to the store...
Gabrielle: LOL Even at a party you didn't "make it" til midnight? Neither did I... when Zoë went down at 10:30 SO DID I!! Tracy had Eden in her room and they were about the same time...
My niece puts her kids to bed early then wakes them up! Uh-Uh, not happening HERE!!
I started my "reflections" on NYE, started my 2017 journal off a day early... needed to get my thoughts out and go to sleep with them on my mind :-)
Oh NO! LOL You didn't make the party... well decision made, no dress!! Oh... you didn't "dress" to stay at home did you?
Yes, LOL Off again today... back to it tomorrow... soon enough!! Had a nice text from Neige today - surprised... but was nice to hear from her...
Lisa: Oh NO! SOrry DD is losing her temp job...

Sue: YES! BRAND NEW 364 days ahead... OUR TIME to MAKE IT to GOAL!
This is the first year in I don't know HOW long, that I don't truly HAVE a NY Resolution!! I don't have it in me to make goals this year... just want the year ahead to be happy - healthy and "at peace" with myself... OK So I guess I do have ONE NY Resolution - to make myself be at peace with myself...
LOL I have deemed my "space" at work a JUNK FOOD FREE ZONE... already warned everyone if you bring something in, it will not be left in my space... or it will get thrown out! Since I share "my space" with only Jess and she is out on maternity - I CAN have MY SAY over what is in or not in the area... Learning to stand up for myself! ??
Sue: No I asked them about a new wiper blade... when I picked it up to clear snow away half the rubber was "hanging" so I knew I needed one... usually grab one and have DH put it on, but since I was there... easier to just get it done! Glad I did... in case of bad weather tomorrow morning!
OH I enjoyed my 9 minute walk both before and after work - even in the wind, I knew it was "good for me"...
Yes, when I took my "backup checklist" into Amanda, I pointed out that claims had come in - but I didn't get to them, she just shrugged her shoulders and said "we have 10 business day" to worry about them!
Yummm grilled pork chops sound good! YAY for re-packaging the cheesecakes too!!

www.marthastewart.com/326905/honey-glazed-turnips?search_key=turnipsFound some turnips in my crisper drawer and figured this would be a yummy veggie for tonight!! This is the only way Jason likes turnips so it's a win/win for both of us!! Baked eggs are in the oven...keeping up with the dishes...laundry loads have been flipped and I still have found time to watch the parade!! Got to admit the floats this year were awesome!!! Some just amaze me!! Heard them say toward the end that there were NO float breakdowns or problems this year!! Carole...sounds like you had not only a productive day Saturday but a fun one too!! How nice you could watch the Torch Light Parade from your bedroom!! Zoe didn't have to miss out!! YAY that the buffet plan for Sunday worked out and you got to get it all cleaned up AND had an early night of it!! I'm assuming that nobody put up a fuss about the buffet plan??? Enjoy your quiet afternoon today...I'm sure it was fun to have an extra "Gramma Day"!! I know I always love them even if I do have things to do...my boys always make it OK to let stuff sit until another time! Carole...Ken & Jason sounds exactly alike...Jason will eat pretty much anything I serve AND will eat any leftovers too!! I'm glad for that since as all of you know, I can do leftovers for a bit but then after a day or two or three...I'm done!! LOL Carole...nope, Hannah won't say a word about her calendar being late!! She just is glad that I do it for her!! Hers actually takes me longer than my DM since she has both our family & Shea's family birthdays on it. What takes the longest is going in and changing the ages and updating the photo on each date. Thankfully, if I do DM's 1st, I can import some of those right into Hannah's and those are done! With Snapfish, you can import previous entries which saves a lot of time but then you have to change the info...I always put "happy #??" on each birthday...anniversaries I only change photos since I have "Happy Anniversary - 19??"...with the year on it, I don't have to change the captions!! Hannah will harass me a bit if I forget to change an age but she's just picking!! She knows that it takes a long time to do!!

Sue: I surprised myself at the movie a few weeks ago... got free popcorn and soda threw most of it out on the way out of the theater! As a matter of fact Saturday night it smelled yummy, but I was feeding/holding Zoë and never even had any popcorn!!
No more ordering out for me - for a while... just need to cut back for calories and money!!
OMG! REALLY??? SMH Sue, but yes if you had included a photo of DD she'd have complained about that too! OMGoodness... Lose - Lose there I expect...
YAY for heading to Hannah's for Easter! Yes quite different then heading to NJ for a weekend... but the time will be worth the money spent...
Christine: Sorry DDs friends left her "out"... but safer t have her home... and YAY for her offering to pick up Linds!
Oh Sue... trust me my living room furniture is the same... hand me downs... and so OLD that I can't even remember WHEN we got them! LOL DH recliner was "used" we got from retiring co-worker sold her house to move to FL... hmmmm, 2005? maybe... "my" recliner was a "new" set way back when... the store was having a deal, buy one get one free... one has been gone LONG ago - but I made one "work"... Tracy's recliner came with her when she moved from her last apartment... and it had "come with" the apartment when she moved in! LOL We are an "eclectic" bnch... but with NO RENOVATIONS in sight, I am ready for something NEW!! Oh yes our couch, I got back - when - hmmmmm.... maybe 6-8 years ago... and I only got that so I had a sleep sofa for when I couldn't sleep in my bed! Spending this $$ was not in my plan right now... but... it's time... hate that furniture practically falls apart when company comes!
Christine: NICE! Your evening sounds wonderful too... love that some of you have "traditions" you follow... YAY to thinking ahead and working towards a second opinion for your knee!!
Sue: I am like you - leftovers are fine... for a few days... then blech... BUT I am going to throw some of these in the freezer in the next day or two...
YAY for the swim plans to resume!! I do NOT blame you for not going today! Ugghh, I would NOT have left my house if they didn't need me to babysit!!
Christine: YES! Let the family do dinner for you!! I'd let them do it all week, since you go back to work but the girls are still home??
LOL We order from "MyBob's Discount" furniture... where we got the couch years ago - and it is holding up great...they have a store in W Springfield (an hour south) but honestly we have no way to pick up anything - no truck/van, hate to pull a trailer down if we don't find anything... SO MUCH EASIER to order and have it delivered!
Sue: LOL I have NEVER looked at my tires! I rely on my mechanic taking care of them... if one is really "soft" someone will notice and tell me about it... this light actually "startled" me the other day - had me almost panicking... today for ha-has I checked and they are ALL lower than normal today... not worrying about it as they are all pretty "equal"!
LOL No such thing as OVERKILL on topics around here... unless I am on overkill with work crap - and you are all too kind to say anything! ?!?
Oh Christine - I was thinking your DM must be in need of some of your attention regarding her knee?
Shelly: I hope you don't have to cut your crew any more... you already pick up the slack around there so much as it is! Glad you had a good "leisure" day yesterday!
TOday is my laundry day - but sitting here in front of the stove... I could easily just sit here the rest of the day!
Jo: Sorry DS prefers to go to GFs house rather than bring her "home"... yes it will be difficult but he is growing up - maybe you need to just discuss his situation with Em - talk it out... ? Sorry, no words of wisdom for you...{{{{{hugs}}}}}

Carole...I'm with you, once stuff is in the freezer, it doesn't "call me"! Honestly, sometimes I forget I put stuff in there until Jason finds it while he's digging for something else!
YAY for getting the furniture ordered!! We have a couple recliners like your old ones...the one I sit in usually the foot goes up but sometimes stays, sometimes not!! Oh well, I will have new furniture one day!! I do have to go to DSM and pick up a chair that belonged to Gram & Gramp...dad got it when Gram died. Pat knows that when she down sizes to a cottage at the Brethren Home she won't be able to take everything with her so she wanted me to have it!! It's an overstuffed chair with an ottoman that Gram had when she lived it the apartment before she died...it was her favorite chair! I'm glad Pat wants to pass it on to me....
Wow Carole...a text from Neige! I'm sure that caught you by surprise!!
I decided several years ago...I think after I joined this group...that instead of making a resolution I would just work to be a better healthier me...in years past when I made a resolution to do something specific, and then fell short, I was always mad at myself...now, my "resolution" is more to make each day a good day...if I fall short on any given day...I have 364 more that year to do a better job!! It's a much easier "resolution" to be successful at! Figure if I'm successful 3/4 of the days....I did a great job for that year!! Make sense???
I LOVE that you are taking ownership to your work space and making it a "Junk Food Free Zone"...they have been warned!! Stand up for you Carole...you deserve to be able to say what can and can't be left in "your space"!! My work space is the same...if someone wants to put something on my desk to "get rid of it" I tell them to bring it to the production office or the cafe....it will NOT be in my world!! They respect it, so I am grateful!
Carole...I knew you'd love the fact my DM wanted a pix of DD...she never ceases to amaze me!
Well...two of the recliners in my living room my parents bought when they redid their basement in 1982, just before we were married....yes, they are 35 years old...is it any wonder they don't work!! The third one I bought for Jason for Christmas about 25 years ago and our couch was bought for our 15th anniversary 20 years ago!!
Enjoy your new furniture Carole!! We have a Bob's near us...might need to check it out when it comes time to get new stuff!!
Guess I need to wash up the couple dishes from my eggs...took them out of the oven a bit ago...they should be cool enough to pack up and put in the fridge and then wash up the pan and cooling rack!
Again this year I want to TRY to start the work week with an empty dishwasher and a clean sink....that way I don't end up with a sink full of dishes by the time the week is over!! Always depressing to look at the mountain of dishes. The dishwasher is just about ready to run now...after supper it should be full and I will run it then!!
Later ladies...

Christine: YAY to taking yesterday "OFF"! I agree you needed it! Game day was good... inventory ended earlier than expected, Matt & Patti had issues on NYE with sleeping arrangements where they went, so they opted out of coming up for dinner... so we ate at halftime... then dessert after the game - everyone had gone home by 6:00 PM!
Sue: YAY to getting your stats out there...Eden sleeps until 7 or so, today it was 8:00! BUt she likes to come to Gramma's to get dressed, and have her oatmeal, so we bundle up and hit the road!! HA! Plans for today got skewed with babysitting... but we went out to shovel... then came in and got changed and warm... she played with her play-dough Ice Cream Shop for a while...I got some laundry done... still have more to do... been hanging out in the DR on the computer longer than I should be - but - hey it's a holiday!!
Uggh, DH is talking about going out to dinner! With ALL we have here, HE wants to go OUT!?? I am letting it GO for now... still have laundry going and more to do - the dishes still need doing and I want to portion out my salad and HB eggs for the week ahead... we'll see what actually gets done!!
Jo: YAY for DS staying home after all... I guess I don't know what Emilie "does" that bothers DS!??! Turkey buffet went GREAT, and with the dishes done as I went it made clean up SO MUCH EASIER... I also use the slow cooker bags, so the crocks usually only have to be "rinsed" out not really scrubbed! The buffet warmer thing, those pans go in the dishwasher so there is that! LOL Better to be "broke" now that CHARGE your Christmas! I too was a cash only Christmas girl this year... worked good - not great, but good... now to get half as organized with bill paying as our Sue!
YES hope you got your WO in and didn't change your mind!!
Lisa: Yes, I too am my biggest obstacle in everything! Especially DIETING! OH my... {{{{{hugs}}}}} as you help DD handle this loss of a job, and ALL that goes with it!! Oh dear, then add sister to the mix... yes let DD and DB (caregiver) decide what DD needs... may make for stress with the family, but it IS DD and DB that are "dealing" with it all...
I know that's how we felt when dealing with DMIL last year {{{hugs}}}
Gabrielle: Yes stay home in out of the storm if you can!! Oh boy... yes DH SHOULD see a doctor... my DH FINALLY went, had the fluid in his lungs... 1 course of antibiotics did NOT clear it up - now to get him to call again! GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!
Yes, we have Martin Luther King day off... we will be heading to a hotel on Sunday 1/15 they have a small indoor water park... we are treating my niece and her 2 kids (Christmas gift from us & Auntie Tracy) and we will take Eden... will be fun for the three kids to spend a day together - in the warmth of the water park... then out to dinner... then maybe a movie and a night away in the hotel...DH grabbed a great "deal" and he earns points at the hotel... Niece's kids are Tracy's God-Daughter Lexi aand my God-Son Trevor... so we like to treat them once in a while :-) Should be fun... and DDIL has given permission to take Eden as well!
Yes the BD is in February... not sure if we will do a "full" cousin party or just keep it simple...
LOL Sue... telling Jason to go downstairs... Oh MY!
I DO enjoy the "benefits" of the bank holidays... and now with Ken off on Mondays we actually have the days TOGETHER! HA! If we weren't going to the waterpark in January - I am sure he'd have hours at the mountain... then in February he can work over there on the President's Day holiday, school vacation week... always busy over there!

LOL Sue, no no one fussed abut the buffet... apparently as long as the food is ready sisters are happy! I have let things "slide" today... but still time to get things done... just not sure I care right now!?!?? LOL
Oh MY! You go all out on your calendars! I thought you just put a picture in and called it good... adding birthdays, etc., is one thing but the dates/years too?! HOLY COW!! Nope I can never be that "good" about it... never...
Oh how nice Pat is giving you your Grandmother's chair!! Yes Neige's text DID catch me by surprise... I had totally forgotten that I had her number in my phone! She had texted me one day - the day I was in NH with Nancy & Gabrielle... over my review - that I had sent her an email about... I was SO GLAD to get that today - FINALLY I can tell her how sorry I am about thinking she was kidding that day... still on my mind daily... anyway... I replied, but it won't get to her until tomorrow when I head out of town... no service here... but at least she will know how sorry I am...
Oh Sue... I ran the dishwasher even though it wasn't "full" last night... knew that I needed a clean slate today... DH got ALL dishes put away so now I will go finish up what I can... get my eggs boiled and get my salads portioned out - to save morning time... still have laundry going and will head upstairs to fold before too late... prefer to fold on the bed... more space for "piles"...
MIGHT even get the tub cleaned so I can get a whirlpool bath before calling it a night...
♥hugs♥ ladies will be back in the early morning as we get the year off to a NEW START!!

Feeling great....Jason is out grilling the pork chops and I just vacuum sealed 4 roasts, 4 packs of 4 chops and 4 packs of 2 chops....lots of meals for $43!! Gotta love a good meat sale!!
Already tracked my breakfast, lunch and snacks for tomorrow....hitting the ground running in 2017!!
LOL Carole...Eden really does love Gramma's oatmeal!! Glad you bundled her up and made her day!! Love the pix of her shoveling!!! One day she will be whining when you MAKE her help with the task!! Take advantage now while she still thinks it's fun!!
Hopefully Ken will change is mind and you can eat up some of the leftovers at the house!! I LOVE those crock pot liners...sure makes for speedy clean up...something really nice about rinsing vs scrubbing!!
Honestly ladies...the only reason I'm so organized with bill paying is the fact that there is barely enough $$$ to go around!!!
Hannah's calling...gotta go!

Evening all...Today wasn't to bad a day. Got my workout in this afternoon. Sure liking getting it out of the way. Will workout with trainer again tomorrow and Thursday.
Carole I didn't get the privilege of having a holiday today so New Year New Mindset was pretty easy for me. Glad you got some extra time with Eden.
Christine I am sure you need a little extra relaxing time yesterday. Glad you had an extra day off today. Hope you was able to rest up before you start back to work tomorrow.
Sue sorry the weather is not so good your way. Great day to have off so you can stay in where it is warm and not have to stress with the bad roads and bad weather. Oh Sue I am sure I could've waited until today to go in and do statements but my Mondays are already busy as it is I didn't want to add that to the list so I just went on in yesterday and got it knocked out. Made for a smoother day today. Couldn't get them in the mail today of course but will mail them out tomorrow. I really can't stand the black eyed peas so I never eat them but will get them for DH when I remember.
Your supper last night sounds good and great job on the nutritional counts. I think I would like it if we had a Y or someplace with an indoor heated pool. I think I would like to add that to a WO routine.
I remember having my stats on my profile on the WW site and you are right, seeing that every time you log in and knowing everyone else can see them does make you think a little bit different.
Jo starts out in the 30's here and got up in the 60's this afternoon. Going to cool off for a few days with a chance of snow later in the week. Not looking forward to that. Glad Steven stay dhome and had NYD lunch with you guys.
I know the feeling of being broke due to paying for Christmas and not charging it. Thats what I did this year.
Actually the inventory goes pretty smooth and with running the before and after reports they can get pretty close to $$ amount we have on hand. That is all they are looking at anyway. Not how much of certain products we have on hand. I have been in several other businesses when they was doing inventory while open.
Lisa I feel for you and DD Kim. That is tough losing a job and having to much debt that with just one missed paycheck a person is in a world of hurt. I know we would be in a pretty rough position if that happened to us. Hope she can get things worked out and find another job soon.

Gabrielle you must be getting the weather they are saying will be getting us by Thursday. I don't blame you not wanting to be out with ppl on the roads that don't know how to drive in the bad weather. Oh I hate when it snows or rains heavy and the dish cuts out and you can't watch your show. So frustrating. Hope it got better.
Sorry DH is still not feeling good. Hope you can find a way to get him to the Dr. soon
Sounds like you are getting your house in order today before you head back to work tomorrow. Good job.
Sue sounds like you have things organized and getting prepared for when you are off. I wish I could be as organized as you. It is hard to see our kids struggle but for my oldest DS we have just had to set back and see how things work out for him. He makes good money when he is working but he has over spent and got way to much on loans. We cannot help him pay his bills but if he ever loses his house we have already told them they can move in with us. We have the extra rooms. I think all will be ok but I always fear something might not work out.
Sue we only get Easter Thanksgiving and Christmas off. The rest of the year we are open so no holidays off for me other than those 3. I know if I ever retire I will enjoy having holidays to do whatever I want. Don't get me wrong I love my job but do wish I could do things like everyone else over the holidays.
Carole I bet the Torch Light parade was neat to watch. Glad you was able to see in from your bedroom and didn't have to worry about the cold air. Glad you was able to get to bed early last night to prepare for your busy day today. My NYD was pretty uneventful. Went in and did statements then home to do nothing. I really thought I was going to come home and get started on the house but nope just wanted to relax and do nothing.
Oh Disney trip for 40th sounds fun and to be able to take the family makes it even better.
Oh weird I can't imagine putting my kids to bed early and then waking them up at midnight. That would not happen with me.
