This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Yes, today's title is cloyingly annoying, but a little 80s style dance beat can't hurt our efforts.
One day tracked and exercised. One size 11 step for womankind.
My procrastination strategies for all the piles I lugged home resulted in a nightmare about work. I did it to myself.
We are in the midst of heavy storms rolling through. Massive thunder and lightening and heavy winds had me up at 5:15. I have a dread of being on the news as I am rescued from my house (crushed by fallen trees), wearing my Target nightgown and no shoes. I got up and dressed. The men slept on. PKate, are you home? Anne, you certainly had a lovely work break. I hope there is no office drama brewing when you return. Shari, congrats to DH for getting resumes out! No small task. Martha, it had to be reassuring to talk to DM. Nancy, when do you start your new gig? Andrea, are you craving spring yet? Frieda, I envy your treadmill at home. Good for you, making it your getaway friend. Linda, are you using a Fitbit these days to keep up with your action? I'm sleepy and blanking on others' recent posts. I'll check in later as the weariness demons rattle my resolve.

Good morning to my favorite coffee buddy! *clink* The new gig begins, with training, on Jan.16. Yes, I'm so looking forward to it, and spending those hours with someone I love so very much. She is a ray of sunshine all the time! So sorry to hear about the nightmares, T. I can sympathize. I have recurring dreams that set my teeth on edge. Maybe a nap today, in between scaling that pile of work? Frieda, I need to blow the dust off my TM. For now, I'm getting my goal met just with activity in the house, but I do need to put in more effort. I have already eliminated approximately 1000 calories daily. My house refresh yesterday included the family room, dining room, and the kitchen. I do have one more project in the kitchen; I have some decals on the soffits of which I've grown weary. I have a new sign coming that will fill that area. Today I will tackle the three bedrooms, and take care of those loathsome wall decorations. I also remembered a big pile of tees I used to wear to work in the lab that need to go; a cathartic purging, of sorts. I also spent some time online, reviewing the sales. Sephora, Target, and Amazon boxes will be arriving this week. DH isn't officially open today; getting parts is hit and miss, as some businesses are open, others not. A good day for him to do some refreshing of his own. I, for one, am ready to get back into some semblance of normal again. Loved having my family home, but boy, there is always so much to do when they leave!

Hello CATs, It's the last day.....I'm not ready for the break to end but it will be good to see co-workers and get caught up. Yes, T, I hope we find less drama in the workplace this year. We'll see... Nancy, you are always such an inspiration with your projects. I have some thoughts about things I'd like to do in the house but never seem to devote time to them. Andrea, I was reminded of what I wanted to comment on. I had recently been reading about the half-somersault treatment for vertigo and was so happy to hear you've tried it with good results. Did a practitioner take you through it or did you do it all on your own? T, we had those storms a little before you, I think. Not bad here but some much needed rain did fall. Now bring on the cooler air! Sorry about the nightmare. I used to have work related bad dreams all the time. Fortunately I left those behind with my old job. Hooray! I hope you get those piles wrangled today so you have a more restful night. Linda, all your chicken paraphernalia sounds very cool. You'll have those girls laying like never before. Frieda, TM time is good time in all ways. Keep it up.
Going out to stretch my legs and see if I can get the rest of my 10K steps in for today. I am trying to keep a streak going but I know I won't make it as long as Tara did. She rocked the 39 day challenge!

Kitchen "project" done. I also touched up the paint, Mr. Clean scrubber-ed the appliances, and emptied the DW. It really looked beat up after the holidays! Now it's so clean, it sparkles. All three bedrooms have fresh sheets, beds are made, entire house vacuumed. I cleared out the shirts, and am amazed (horrified) at how many there were. My Hawkeyes are behind by one TD, but I have faith!
Anne, if only we lived closer together...!
Weird day of weather; spitting rain. Really? January in Iowa; it's a conundrum.
Showered, with my feet up, watching the second half. Eggroll in a Bowl for supper...so good!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I could not get on the TM today. I had to get out of the house instead. You all understand. I appreciate your love and concern. I feel it, even if I don't acknowledge it directly. I do love a clean house. I had last weekend to myself, and it was wonderful and took a long time to get the house spiffy. But I love walking by the clean rooms. I know what you mean, Nancy. It feels good. I checked out a cookbook last weekend. A woman who does it all, like you linda. I mean she makes everything, from applesauce to spice mix etc. I haven't gotten into the recipes yet. I've been thinking about my goals for the new year. TM time, flossing daily, reading 1 book a month, oh and tracking time on a calendar with big x's. Plus taking the time to sit and rest daily. Even if it's for 15 minutes. I really like my fitbit charge 2. What an improvement! Until tomorrow, Frieda.

So glad you could stop by Freida.
I'm done with my time off officially with the end of this day. It's been a pleasant break. Tomorrow I only have SBJ. His DMOM is working a 12 hours shifts, so I don't know how long I'll have his company. His Ddad is,with the postal service so his hours have been long also. Perhaps the holiday has changed that.
My chicks have started to hatch. One is ahead of the others, and their midwife is at a life event that high schoolers encounter. I imagine I'll have more pictures waiting for me in the morning.
See you all tomorrow
