We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

"If the president says it, ... let me do more research on it, My guess is that there's probably some level of truth to that," Scaramucci said.
Really! He really said that?!! We have reached a point where "some level of truth" is considered a positive? Sorry, Mooch, but that's just not enough for me. I want a President who I can believe that what he says is the truth, not just hope that there might be "some level of truth" somewhere hidden within what he says. That's kind of like "alternative facts." Truth is truth. You're either telling it, or you're lying. One or the other.

"Attorney General Jeff Sessions met with the Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak to discuss Trump campaign matters during the 2016 presidential election, according to US intelligence intercepts, The Washington Post reports."
So clearly Sessions has been caught flat out lying on multiple occasions. Wasn't he also under oath a couple of times when he said he did not meet with any Russians concerning anything about the campaign? The you know what is starting to fly fast and furious. Somebody's going to get it blown all over them, and I'm hoping that when that happens whoever it is starts talking if for no other reason to try and save themselves. I think Sessions might do that. Also Manafort and Flynn just to name a few. Somebody is going to talk at some point. The JA and his family are clearly starting to panic.
One thing we should have learned from all of this, Congress needs to pass a law requiring any Presidential candidate to make public all tax returns and financial dealings. I think there was collusion on the election, but the money laundering possibility is becoming more and more likely to be going on as well. Certainly I think JA personally or his business or his kids owe big money to either some Russian banks or some Russian mafia. Just speculation, of course, on my part; but, unless he makes the information public then what else are we left to think? Clearly anything dealing with finances makes him very, very nervous.

All this daily "Breaking News" is making me weary...LOL...I mean every day or more likely every hour it's something new.
I think Sessions is going be forced to resign. And if he doesn't, perfect timing for JA to fire him.
Mooch..LOL...he really does remind me of a slick salesman. Or mobster....he's clearly trying hard to sell JA.
It's all about Alternative facts with this WH bunch of crazies.

Yes, I agree that Sessions should start clearing out his office. His days are definitely numbered. I'm expecting that Reince Preibus will be going soon, and then maybe Bannon. JA seems to be circling the wagons tighter and tighter, and if you're not family or a very long time friend you're going to be left out of the circle. Funny you said that about a mobster, because when I first saw this Mooch guy on TV that was my first thought was that he looked like a mobster. LOL!!

Clearly Congress doesn't trust the JA about Russia . . .
"The House and Senate reached a deal Saturday to slap Russia with fresh sanctions and give Congress new veto power to block any easing of those sanctions" -- CNN
The article indicated they expected it to pass both houses with a big enough majority that it would be veto proof. JA is going to be p***ed about that! His good buddy Vladamir is too.

Not good news, so the DNC better be taking notice because these polls aren't very flattering. www.cnn.com/2017/07/22/politics/five-poll-numbers-democrats-uneasy/index.htmlOne of these polls show it very close between Approve and Disapprove of JA's handling of the economy. What has he done about the economy? I honestly can't think of a single thing, so have to conclude that what this really means is that people are pretty evenly satisfied/dissatisfied just with the way their own economics are going and that JA is getting credit for it if they are satisfied even though he has had nothing to really do with it. I read another article recently that said consumer spending is going down, which is not a good sign for the economy and indicates that people are more concerned than this particular poll seems to indicate.

It really is all such a mess isn't it!.... Very discouraged to think that so many people still support JA despite everything so far & many of these people are those I know & some are close family. That just makes me very sad & discouraged. I thought I knew these people & I had no problem what so ever with them being Republicans, but this support of JA just befuddles me!
KAC on TV this morning explaining her "Alternative Facts" in her same snarky way. And "The Mooch" was so slick, slimy & greasy, I figured he would slide off his chair. What an ultimate con man....perfect person to defend "his" Prez!
JA asking the men & women on the newly consigned battleship to call their congress representatives to support his agenda is not only ignorant on JA part but just downright wrong. He is such an idiot when it comes anything IMHO.
I will be scarce this coming week...the other 2 sons & families coming home this week. They planned a "SURPRISE" 50th Anniversary Party for DH & I for this coming Saturday night. Well, after careful reconsideration of keeping it a surprise knowing that their Mom would probably not speak to them til she passed & then would come back to haunt them, they spilled the beans on the surprise aspect. I HATE surprises & parties, but happy they kept it to immediate family, elder aunts & uncles on both DH & my side, our brothers & sisters & families, original wedding party. It's at a local lodge/inn with a Burger Bar & Beer & other beverages. So, hopefully it just a small casual simple affair. Anyway, grateful I have a happy healthy family & will smile & enjoy the party despite hating being center of attention....
Anyway, cookies to bake, guest beds to make up, meals to plan, etc, not cleaning til everyone goes home...LOL...learned that lessons a long time ago..so will throw a sock at the cobwebs & swish out the toilets & call it good...LOL
Have a great week...keep the faith that this political mess will right itself in the right way.

Linda, how exciting! Your 50th wedding anniversary! That's a major milestone, and I for one am glad that your children are throwing you a party but also glad they told you ahead of time. I will be virtually celebrating with you. When is the actual anniversary? Wish there was a way we could see pictures, but you can describe it to us. Relax and enjoy this! You've earned a celebration.

Actual date is September 30th. Thanks for the well wishes, Joyce.
oh, & I forgot to say, the vast majority of those attending the "Party" are Republican/ Trump supporters. Hopefully, the political conversation will be banned!...đ
