We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

So McConnell managed to do nothing really, and just barely got that through. According to John Boehner, Rs will never be able to repeal and replace Obamacare. He says it is a lost cause. So then why not accept that and come together with Democrats to fix the things within Obamacare that need fixing? No, Democrats may not get all they want and Rs won't get all they want either (although they can't come to a consensus on what they want anyway), but it would benefit the American people. Until Congress starts working for the people instead of their own individual ideological points of view, nothing is going to happen. Obamacare may fail simply because they refuse to fix it, and in the meantime the people suffer. When Obamacare was passed, no one thought it was perfect. Everyone knew that like any major, complicated legislation such as this there would need to be "fixes" along the way. So fix it! Personally, I'd like to have a single payer plan, but I know I'm never going to get that. I believe healthcare is a fundamental right, and don't understand why everyone doesn't believe that but I accept that they don't. So get on with it Congress, fix what's broken, and do your job for a change. (Stepping down off the soap box now) As for the Bully-in-Chief, what's left to say?

"Scaramucci defended Trump's public critiques of Sessions, saying Trump "wants his Cabinet secretaries to have his back."
So in other words, Trump has no respect for the rule of law or precedent. He wants everyone to have HIS back, and forget about the country. Does this truly not bother Republicans? I'm no fan of Sessions, but how could JA possibly expect that the man could investigate an activity in which he personally participated? There's not an ounce of common sense to that, and even a kindergartner would know that would be wrong. But right and wrong don't seem to matter. All that matters is that JA be allowed to do exactly as he pleases when he pleases and the hell with the rest of the country. Disgusting!
How's that cyber bullying issue working out for you, Melania?

I loved John McCain's speech. Will his brethren take heed? Methinks not.
