WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C76D2, 7000 fitbit steps
I had mentioned the 90%/10% split but I now found the passage in the book. The author’s son pointed a “got you” finger at her and said “But sometimes I see you eating chocolate and other junk foods” to which she responded “you’re right, honey. Only 90% of what I eat is for my health, and 10% is for pleasure.” Subsequently she decided to replace the term “junk food” with “play food” for its role in the world of eating satisfaction.
Cindy – What a great reason to get back in shape. Hopefully you’ll feel so good that you’ll opt to continue your journey toward goal after the visit to the army base.
Jan – Sounds like a lovely family weekend. How are the kids relating to their new uncles?
Kathy – Edesia spoke of training wheels when we start off with IE. That’s where you are right now. I hope you’ll keep the faith and stick with it. Have you finished the book?
Edesia – Wednesday night DGK and I are going to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner, next Wednesday is our line dancing holiday luncheon at an Italian Restaurant and the next Tuesday is our table tennis luncheon at Houlihans. I’m not in the least bit concerned about any of it. No rules in preparation. What a change!!
Louise – Welcome back. Sorry about the car aggravation but happy to hear your eating went well. Interesting about whole milk as a way of increasing DM's weight.

Good morning!
I'm forced to run inside this morning due to rain. I'm so glad I had yesterday morning off and was able to get a good run in.
Nancy, belated congratulations on your new cycle! The boys are enjoying my "new" family. One brother is doing quite well for himself and collects antique muscle cars. They went to see them on Sunday and were in heaven.
Edesia, I hope the resolution with your mom will help settle the situation.
Cindy, you have an exciting year coming up! I'm glad you're back.
Waving to everyone.

Good Morning Friends: C1D3 Treadmill D3 Hi Lori! Wow, the mindset makes all the difference! I plan to keep on talking to myself all during this journey. Went yesterday got some more healthy foods. Also, got the knee wraps, since am starting off again on treadmill after so long being off. They help so very much. Off to treadmill. You all stay warm up north. We're supposed to get a cold front this week and then back in 70's next week, Okla weather. Love ya'll, Cindy
