3. An opportunity to be creative. I love that cooking gives me a chance to produce something physical that I can smell and taste.
4. A chance to connect. One of my favorite times of day is when my husband and I hang out in the kitchen with a glass of wine while Iβm getting dinner ready. Thereβs something so easy about this time together. I also have a weekly date with my 3-year-old where we bake something sweet. I do struggle with the mess, but the look of joy on his face as he licks the chocolate cake bowl is worth it. Plus now he can crack an egg without dropping it on the floor, so there is progress!
Do you find it rewarding to try a new recipe or modify an old one? Do you welcome family members or others helping with preparing/cooking meals?

Do you find it rewarding to try a new recipe or modify an old one? Yes, though I don't do it often enough considering how many cookbooks I own.
Do you welcome family members or others helping with preparing/cooking meals? I do enjoy help with preparation of food but don't get it often enough.

Do you find it rewarding to try a new recipe or modify an old one? Yes. I rarely follow a recipe exactly as written...
Do you welcome family members or others helping with preparing/cooking meals? No. DH has his way of doing things and I have mine. We do better when each of us preps/cooks alone...

Ok, I'm back to answer my own questions.
Do you find it rewarding to try a new recipe or modify an old one? I love trying new recipes, and often I will modify/eliminate/add something to either a new one or an old one.
Do you welcome family members or others helping with preparing/cooking meals? I mostly am by myself when I cook, but I do like cooking with my grown kids when they are around. My son is the only one who is close by.

I do like to try new recipes and I do modify some to make them more OP.
Do you welcome family members or others helping with preparing/cooking meals?
I welcome them, but rarely get help as DD is busy with school and work and DH works so late we would never eat. Hah

Do you find it rewarding to try a new recipe or modify an old one? I love looking at a recipe and seeing how I can make it more point friendly. I like the idea of making one new recipe every week. I have printed off so many WW recipes over the years that I haven't ever tried.
Do you welcome family members or others helping with preparing/cooking meals? Single, so have to do it all myself. However, I love to get together with friends and have a cooking session.
I remember as a kid my mom would have a chair pulled up to the sink/counter for us to help. She continued to do the same with my sister's kids. Even though the prep took 3 times longer, it was fun to be involved.

Do you find it rewarding to try a new recipe or modify an old one? I love changing things up with new recipes. I couldn't pass up the new Oprah cookbook at my meeting this morning.
Do you welcome family members or others helping with preparing/cooking meals? I appreciate it when dh helps me when we're expecting guests. He always grills the bulgogi for our Korean feast. He also carved the turkey, even at my sister's house! He'll actually do whatever I need done. β€

1. Creative - It varies. I might change ingredients to make the recipe work for my husbands dietary needs. In other cases, it just depends on how the recipe looks - if ingredients seem to be in balance or not. Unless something is obviously "off", I do try to make it as per recipe at least once before making changes (but all to often end up thinking "I knew that didn't sound quite right!".
2. Help - My husband would be the only one around who could help. He really never learned a lot about cooking growing up or when living on his own. And not really a topic that interests him all that much.

I like trying new recipes, I don't do it often enough. I often cook the same old things over & over. I think I will try to make a new recipe once a week in the new year!! I usually don't have any help in the kitchen, that is ok, I enjoy it.
