Good morning fellow crafters! Well for me it sure is scarey putting August down on the thread heading... Indeed the summer is at its half way point- which is nice if you are tiring of hot weather- but scarey if you are not looking forward to winter and the holidays. But I guess that is life....time does indeed march on.
Hope Meg is ok and just experiencing computer woes.
I know several years ago, I "lost" contact with a dear online buddy- had no other way to reach her other than the WW board. Pretty sure she took herself off WW site she had some strong political views and I suspect was warned by WW to watch her mouth. But I do have to say she was a creative and prolific crafter who could embroider anything with her "brother".
Have a great day! Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I'm glad to hear one of your pillowcases is almost done - what is the design on them? You're right that this Summer has gone quickly. I'm happy about it because of the heat, but sad for you that you'll have to go back to work soon. Ruth - I wonder if that guy who bought that Cabbage Patch doll realized he was lucky to get one before people started going crazy over them I hope Meg is alright too, and that it is just problems with her computer. I went out and bought groceries today and got some green beans at the grocery store. I have them cooking with some Ham Butts and slices again. They snapped pretty good and weren't stringy so hopefully they are good. I was looking for more rhubarb (so I could freeze it), but they didn't have any. I might check another store this week. I really enjoyed cooking it with strawberries in it and would like to have some to eat in the Winter. Take care everyone!

Hello all and happy new week
Most of the people that I knew on the old ww board are on my email list and I can't think of any that I lost contact with. Some people did leave the board but we still keep in touch.
CJ, when I used to get rhubarb from the neighbor I froze it for winter. Back when I was working I got some from coworkers too. It was fine frozen. All I did was cut it up and put into bags. Some people do it differntly I think.I do the same with strawberries but this year there weren't any good strawberries so if I want some I'll have to rely on buying frozen ones but I probably won't bother with any.I don'thave enough rhubarb to freeze this year.
I've been cooking this morning. Made a potato salad and some chili but I make it with taco seasoning insead of chili powder so it's really more of a taco filling but we eat it like chili. Don't know yet what we'll have with the potato salad. Probably some kind of smoked sausage..Hot links or something.

evening, today was my eye check up for a year after cataract surgery. both lenses had a cloud behind them so I got a laser treatment. wasn't bad at all.
my plan was to do some cleaning in my sewing room and get things ready for tomorrow's sit and sew. that didn't get done. my eyes were dialalated and then the laser took awhile to clear. not sure if I am going tomorrow. felling like a cold or sinus is about ready to hit me. been sneezing and blowing.
have a good night. phyl

Good evening,
CJ glad you were able to get more beans. I gotta say that green beans are a favorite vegetable. I know up here they sell frozen rhubarb in the store.
Ruth, I have lost my momentum to cook. It's nice reading about all the great food you are making.
Phyl, I hope your eyes clear up from the drops.
Heat is returning and I did not get much accomplished today Hope everyone has a good night Ginny

PHyl, I hope your eyes are ok. Sorry you had to have the laser treatments
Ginny, it's going to be cool all this week here supposedly. One of the days the high will only be 73. Dh hates the heat so he'll be happy. I'm sure I mentioned before that I don't like it really hot but it sure is depressing to me that summer will soon be gone although I shouldn't really think that because last year dh and I had a doctor appointment in late November and it was 81 that day. Couple years ago we had a big snow storm on Sept 11th but then it got warm again for awhile. I do hope we have a nice fall with warm days...not hot...not cold.
I worked a little on my cp doll shirt a little while ago and will get back to it but I also want to make a list to take with me to the doctor tomorrow so that I don't forget anything I want to tell here, discuss, or ask about. I don't have to be there till three but I think I'll leave early and stop at one of the grocery stores. I won't buy anything that need refrigeration but I'm going for two specific items and that's probably all I'll get there. I didn't see anything in their ad.
Have a good night everyone and get a good rest

Good morning!
Ruth, sounds like a good game plan for the doctors office tomorrow. I learned that trick (taking a writtten list to the doctor) when I was expecting DD#1. Why is it we always forget what we want to ask the doctor when we get to the appointment? I like to combine errands too....and knowing that you are a home body to save a trip out by accomplishing much on one trip is a good choice.
Today and tomorrow are supposed to be hot and humid, so I will be out walking shortly. Then cooler....but perhaps humid too.
Well I did get another 9 patch block assembled yesterday and also found a color of DMC that went missing. So I did actually get some crafting time in.
THink I will check email and get those walking shoes on.
Happy Crafting, Ruth, CJ, Phyl and our dear Meg who is missed. Ginny

PHyl, sorry to hear about the summer cold. That can really be miserable.
I'm going to be off to see the doctor soon. I need to get clothes together and get shower taken. I'm taking my little cp shirt along to work on while waiting. Dh is up now so I'll go to the grocery store after the doctor visit instead of before so I can spend the time before with dh.He wanted to know if I wanted him to go with me.He never used to go with me to the doctor until we ended up having the same one and at this office they just assumed that we wanted to have our "normal" visits together which we do in a way but sometimes you just want to go yourself.I want to stop at Wendy's afterward too for a frosty. Every since Phyl mentioned them I've been wanting one.Chocolate is on the no no list but the frosty's are really small now so I don't think that little bit of chocolate matters.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I hope your doctor's visit went well. We used to take a list of questions to the doctor whenever my father had an appointment, that really helped. Sounds like your CP shirt is coming along. I hope you were able to get your groceries and did get to stop at Wendy's Ginny - Glad to hear you got some crafting done and also found your floss. We're getting the hot weather again this week too. I haven't seen frozen rhubarb in the stores around here, but I'm still hoping to find some more in the produce dept so I can freeze it for myself. Phyl - I hope your eyes are doing better today. I'm sorry to hear you are sick with a cold, I hope it goes away quickly. Sorry you are missing your sit and sew. Meg - Hope you are doing well. I decided to set a goal for myself in August to do at least a little bit of my quilting each day. I always work better with a list or deadline, since I'm such a procrastinator I pulled out my table runner that I need to finish stitching down the binding on and I'll work on that. I always thread 4 needles at a time and then when those are used up, thread 4 more to have ready for the next time. Take care everyone!

Hello everyone. I have not been on vacation for the past week. I have been in Intensive Care and just got home today. I had a blood infection and started doing weird things. DS called 911. Last thing I remember was going in the ambulance. I have been very sick and I have a lot of changes to make. with breathing equipment ect. No crafting for me for awhile. take care.

CJ, threading 4 needles at a time sounds like an excellent idea. I hate having to stop sewing and thread needles. I haven't seen frozen rhubarb here either in years. I checked while out today too. Not that I was going to buy any but I was just curious. I think most people here freeze their own because they have so much.
Doctor visit went ok but not as good and I was hoping for. She said she was going to call me tomorrow with the results of a microscopic on the urine and also about a med. The other doctor seemed to know more about meds for this than this doctor does and the other was only a resident and this one is faculty.
I did get a couple rows done on my cp kid shirt but didn't have to wait long so didn't have much time to crochet

OH my goodness Meg, you were posting (only message above mine was CJ) while I was then I was gone for a couple hours and just came back and saw your message. I'm shocked to hear you were so sick. I'm praying a prayer of thanks right now that you are well and home. Do they know what caused it? Did it start out as a UTI and you became septic from that? I'm just SO glad you're ok nolw!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome home Meg! Never thought you were on a vacation, and indeed we were deeply concerned about you. This must have been an awful experience for you and you were very sick. Even if you are not able to craft for awhile, you are more than welcome to check in with us to "chat" and for a cyber hug from your friends here. I will be praying that you gain strength daily and are feeling like yourself very very soon. Thanks to the Lord that you got good care are the hospital and are doing better.
Phyl, hope your cold goes away soon!
Ruth, I am also praying for good results front the test they ran yesterday on you, and that perhaps this new medicine might be appropriate and work. Perhaps the less knowledgeable doctor will do her homework before she calls you or makes any decisions regarding your care. Will pray that this all works out ok.
CJ- agree, its a good idea to do just a little bit each day to keep your momentum going. Think we all can suffer from procrastination from time to time.. Hope you can find some rhubarb to freeze.
Well.....yesterday was a day that blew up in my face. Ended up taking a cat to the vet, and Dd slept her last night with the grandkids - they have construction at their house so it made more sense for them to be here. No crafting done and this day was anything but restful. God is good.....and cannot complain.
Hope to stop back in later. Ginny
