The Mind☯Body☯Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Good morning! Officially back at work and the holidays are behind me.
Lisa, if your niece is indeed bipolar it sounds like she may be self-medicating. I had a boss who was bipolar, and he would go off his meds because without them, he had these grandiose feelings, as if he ruled the world and could do no wrong. Of course that always blew up in his face and he would counteract by drinking heavily. On his meds he was fine. I hope your niece finds balance and good care.
Beans: I have found the quick soak method to be the best for digestability. Bon Appetit calls it the power soak method. I personally prefer to let them soak for two or three hours after the boiling, and then thoroughly rinse until the water runs clear. Here is the link: www.bonappetit.com/test-kitchen/cooking-tips/article/the-faster-way-to-soak-beans-for-cooking
Daily Affirmation - I welcome routine and a schedule!
Fitness Report - gym for cardio and weights; at home, worked on rotators and side series.
Health Goal - work hard at M.O.G. today.
Gratitude - short work week.
Good morning to all the Angels!

Good morning, Angels! This is my first time trying "Reply" rather than the quick one...hope it works! Lisa, thanks for today's start. May your niece be open to receiving the help and support she needs to overcome the physical and psychological challenges she is facing. Recovery is possible and there are effective treatment options available...sharing from first-person experience. With regard to creating new habits for the new year, I thought to share a web site link for Zen Habits, some of which I have practiced in the past. Here it is: https://zenhabits.net I hope you find it helpful. The Insight Timer app is one that Pat mentioned to me last year and I've fallen in love with it! The mobile app is available in Google Play store for Androids and is also available for iPhones. If you decide to download it, search for me in "Find friends"...I'm listed as Anetta, Lompoc CA.
I've been making small quilted heart pouches with zippers and charms for the consignment shop. They are a good size for holding gift cards or a piece of jewelry. It's been fun making them, going through my fabric stash to find fabric combinations. It sounds like you've been busy as well with new projects. Continue to enjoy! Pat, yes, structure and routine are a good thing! I hope you ease back into a groove with work this week. Family get-togethers and a couple of days of rain during the holidays temporarily interrupted my regular routine, but I'm slowly getting back to it this week. Thanks for posting the link for the bean soaking method. I always see the dried bean mixes at the market and maybe I'll pick up a bag and try something new. Suzanne, sorry that I missed what you posted about 365 Days yesterday! How are you listed, so I can send a friend request? Or you can search for me with the info I posted above. I'm happy that we'll sharing the journey towards that goal together! Daily Affirmation - I say YES to all the Universe offers today! Fitness Report - Solo and dog walks done. Health Goal - Again, eat meals as pre-tracked. Worked well yesterday and I want to keep it going. Empty water jug. Gratitude - Downy woodpeckers, turkey vultures, and Oregon juncos I saw on this morning's walk!

Anetta, thank you for the link to the Zen Habits website. I printed off the habits for decluttering - I need to develop all of them badly! This will help alot.
If I ever get a smart phone, I will look you up on IT! My old Kindle app isn't that sophisticated.

Good Evening, dear angels.
Lisa, thanks for the start-up. Thank you, too, for the inspirational first line of your post: "Happy New Year! It's going to be a good one! Do you know why? Because WE are in control and will do what it takes to create it!"
Anetta: I'd better check out that Zen link. I, too, need help with clutter-control. It drive me crazy and yet, here it is. I found you on IT and I think I may have requested to "be your friend". We'll see if you get any messages. I think "Suzanne" and "Stillness" are in my profile, as well New York.
Pat: I think you can access the meditations on your computer insighttimer.com . And join a group if you wish.
I've found a morning class (strength training with some balance work) at the gym that I am really liking! I am not a morning person, let alone EXERCISE in the morning, but this may have changed that for me. I really love the instructor. The class is low-key and is designed for the older age groups (altho anyone is welcome). The same instructor also does a "cardio-combo" class and a dance class; I am so tempted to try those as well (except they're even earlier in the morning. Ugh.)
Daily Affirmation: I am in control and will do what it takes to be happy. Fitness report: lots of strength-training these last 2 days, with some cardio sprinkled on the side. Health Goal: Rework my food-options to address my IBS. Gratitude: For the feeling, today, that I am getting better.
Namaste. Suzanne

Affirmation: I embrace fully who I am.
Lisa, Good list. I am a goal setter par excellence and got that way from my FLYing days. Not bragging because if I can do it..... Something came to me and then it vanished. Such a pearl of wisdom that vanished into the ether of my mind. This was a pearl I needed, not you. I am in a very good mood. Spent the last number of months downsizing, clutterbusting, having the subcontractors here until I thought I was going to lose it. However now I am a very competent general contractor.
I just don't feel like writing the same old stuff.
Beauty goal: Smile a lot--IMO this makes everyone look much better
Sassy goal: Don't worry be sassy.
Not too sure about all the advanced spiritualism that you all have because it is definitely beyond my touch. I admire it. However I am a simple chop, wood, carry water kind of gal and the last thing I want to do is meditate. Please don't kick me off the board for admitting this.
Anetta, your description of your sewing project lightened my heart. Seemed so cute! BTW, hundreds of birds are being fed by me each day. Glad I have a job so I can afford my bird family.
This avatar thing is so much fun. I hope you all don't settle in to the same old, same old. However, my pic is the best ever taken of me so I am going to keep it!
Onward>>>>>>>>>>>
